Kind of a stretch calling the Tuit an APSC version of the Planar 45mm f2 if you are into lens design, both being a Planar design is about all they have in common. Otherwise great video!
I bought this lens like 15 minutes after watching this video 3 months ago. Since then the only time it has left my X-E3 is when I tried it on my new X-S10 for a couple days. After that, the lens went right back onto the X-E3 where it will stay as half of my “forever camera.” The X-S10 replaced an X-T3 and it will eventually be replaced by an X-H2, but the Zeiss/X-E3 combo will never leave my possession. The images that I get from that pair are the exact images that have always been in my head since I first picked up photography back in 10th grade, if that makes sense. To put it another way, the character of this Zeiss lens combined with the character of the X-E3/X-Trans IV is the exact image formula that I’ve been trying to find for the past 15 years. I’ve found my grail. All that to say, thank you for the recommendation! 🖤🖤🖤
Simply - best looking reviews channel on youtube, period. Awesome work!!!

Hey GX Ace, greetings from the motherland of ZEISS, Germany. Love your footage and your actual view of China, this opens a lot of viewers their eyes about its interesting beauty and diverse landscapes, cityscapes and people. Thank you! About the Planar design or double Gauss, there are a lot of people that do not like its sometimes clinical perfect image rendering and stick to SONNAR types of lenses or cooke Triplet variants. As myself. I personally love the fact that there exist so many lens designs so we can discuss endlessly our preferences and admire your aestheticaly beautiful interesting shots in the future.

I think you nailed it when you mention the "character" of the lens. And it is probably why I like it so much. I did own the Fuji 35mm f/1.4 but I hated it, the autofocus was clunky and very noisy.

Opted for the 35mm 1.4 Fuji for $300 and absolutely in love with it. I’ll still get the Touit lens if I ever see the price drop but I don’t think you could go wrong with either. It hasn’t left my camera since I’ve put it on - love everything about it

Great to discover your channel! Absolutely gorgeous videos and content, you definitely "speak my language" when it comes to photography and this video in particular has made my mind up! I just purchased a used Zeiss 32mm Touit for Fuji X mount and can't wait for it to be delivered. I have deliberated for months now about the right system to switch to, after finding that my Leica M6 and me just weren't getting along anymore 😞! I have been increasingly getting frustrated with film prices and processing difficulties, and after 15yrs of ownership, I've finally sold my M6 and now have an X-Pro 2, the Zeiss 32mm, Fuji 18mm f/2 and some other Carl Zeiss M-Mount glass i'll be adapting for the Fuji. Basically a full Zeiss set on the X-Pro 2! I tried the M10 and just didn't get on with it, I don't like the colours of the sensor and that coupled with the extreme cost of this system put me off, yours and others comments about the similarities of the Fuji X Pro system to the Contax G system really hit home, my favourite system ever was the Contax G2 with the Zeiss lenses, and I now feel like I've got a digital version of that! When you said the Touit mirrored the G45 lens, I was totally sold on switching the whole system. Super excited about the new system and it's actually making me excited about photography again! I'll be looking at your presets also! Thank you so much for the content and I look forward to more of your content!
Awesome vid GX, great music used as always. GxAce, another great video production as usual & your summation on the Zeiss Touit 32mm f1.8 is spot on. I purchased it on eBay for under $400 about 6 months after lukewarm reviews on KZread. It’s attached to my X-Pro 3 since (I also have the Fuji 35mm f2) & the images captured are addictive. I highly recommend purchasing this lens even at $500 range. Also, when a piece of gear has been dissed on KZread & owners will dump it on eBay, snapped it up folks. I was lucky to find a Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f0.95 for my Olympus Pen F around $400 after “I’m not impressed reviews”! That too is a fantastic lens with character. I found it second hand for half the price. It's a nice lens from what I've seen from your video. Thanks for video.
Why is no one talking about YOU?! im planning to buy this lens so i searched it up and your video came on top:) in the previews it seemed like you cut some movie scenes from the matrix (thats what i thought) but wow, from the beginning to end it was truly an amazing experience. thank you for making this beautiful video. im subscribed and going to binge watch all your contents :D cheers
I have the Zeiss on my X-T2, and it's definitely better than the Pentax nifty 50s, Pentax 35s, and Sigma zoom I'd been using prior to purchasing the Zeiss. I think Zeiss started at $900, then dropped to $720 MSRP when there was not much interest. Another thing is that the Zeiss was introduced before Fuji's X system got to be so popular, so maybe that's why it slipped thru the cracks. Anyway, you're correct about $400 clams being a good deal. Grab one up at that price if you can.
Had it on my Fuji. Was really expensive when new. Maybe my biggest gear purchase. Awesome IQ und rendering qualities.

Awesome! Glad I could help!
Loved this review and overview. I bought this lens late last year when prices were higher and not many of them on eBay. I got mine for $500 on KEH. I don’t know exactly why I picked it over the Fuji options at the time, but I love it and it may be my favorite lens (and I have the 16mm f1.4). There aren’t a lot of reviews for this but there were enough to help me make an informed decision on buying it. Hopefully you making one will give this lens more exposure. I think another reason why nobody talks about it is because it’s old and came out early on during the X-Mount’s life (2013) and Zeiss has basically stopped supporting and marketing it. I bought mine before the Viltrox 33mm f1.4 was available/became a hot topic, but that’s another option at around this ~35mm focal length under $300 brand new. I could have realistically bought that if it was available when I was shopping. Would appreciate a third party showdown between that and the Zeiss 32mm! I’d imagine the Zeiss would be “better” overall and more fun to use, but the extra stop and much lower price brand new make the Viltrox a pretty compelling option.

What do you use for the b-roll shot movement? Very good point about image circle overshooting the sensor - they do that to avoid spherical edge softness and light falloff. Another good one for full frame - nikkor 85mm 1.4D (highly recommended) 👌

Seems like a cool lens, I watched a few other comparison videos between this one and the Fuji 35 f1.4 and there usually does appear to be a difference especially toward the edges with the Zeiss lens, at least to me, through KZread. What software do you edit with for your Fuji ?
Man your videos are top notch. Did you ever try the zeiss otus line for video? They deliver extreme crisp images with character and most dimension i have ever experienced. I filmed with a bunch of different lenses including different anamorphic sets on weekly projects and finally got 28, 55, 85 of the otus line for video and cover photoshoots. Keep up the good work. Really love your videos
Great video. Have you tried using the lens in manual focus? I'm after a 35mm on my Fuji X Pro 2, but shoot manual focus lenses on the fuji. I know this is focus-by-wire, but is the experience at least better then the fuji lenses, which just spin without any user tactile feedback.
I own this lens and have used it on the Fuji X-H1 with mixed results, I've missed focus on this lens more than any other lens on the Fuji X-H1, have tried it with image stabilisation on as well as off but its odd and has given mixed results, don't get me wrong Ive had some great shots when its been mounted on the early X-pro1 camera and its strangely awesome, I also own the fuji 35mm f1.4 and I do think that's a superior lens IMHO.
any recommendations for an alternative lens hood? want a square one if possible.
Yes i am a zeiss addict. In film contax with zeiss now fuji pro-2 with zeiss. De resultaten are ready different all the time.
