Why Is MEDIEVAL DYNASTY So Popular?

It has been over 3 years since Medieval Dynasty was released into early access on steam, yet the game still has a really strong core player base, gets regular updates from the dev team and has recently just been released onto console.
So I want to ask the question, why is medieval dynasty so popular still today, what is it that makes the game so good? We even have a CO-OP game mode that is due to be coming out in December to look forwards to :)

I racked up over 100 hours in this, Medieval Dynasty is a super chill and slow-paced community sim and it's very satisfying to transition from doing pretty much everything by hand yourself to running a quaint little hamlet where the NPCs do most of the manual labour. While they've done great work with this game I'm a little disappointed in the Japan and Wild West versions they released afterwards, they both feel like a step backwards and will need a ton of development to bring them up to the standard of Medieval Dynasty (especially where performance is concerned).
I always love a great 80s training montage lol
thoughts on manor lords being so close to release? I've been looking at it since it was first released and I'm hyped for it to be here

Not sure it's the right niche but if anyone's interested in hard-core Medieval history and criticism of current Medievalistic trends I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's videos series

Similar game to look into is Sengoku dynasty. Similar style but medieval Japan.

Yes, you can basically customise everything on this game. I changed my season duration from 3 days to 8 days, it gives me pretty much enough time to complete quests and build my town.

I’m already bored of this game and I’m not even married yet kingdom come was way better I’m sick of picking up stones and cutting down trees
I found the game pointless, tedious and unrewarding. Basicly a walking / chopping simulator...
