to be honest I started playing league like 1 year ago and I very rarely see anyone talk in the game or champ select...it almost never happens, I had heard such horrible things about the game that everybodys always going to blame you and call you and your mother names but it very rarely has happened to me...mostly people dont say anything besides "gg ez" in the end

Daniel I've been watching you for quite a long time and been playing league for a long time. I think the same way as you. People grow, they get busy with life and the most important is they change like us. League has been in my big part of life and the reason I kept playing was social experience like you said. League or any other game is not gonna be same ever again but the memories will be remembered. I'm not angry or sad I'm thankful to games such League for entertaining me for a long time.

Genuinely, the reason why we get these situations and types of nostalgia, is because of the friends and memories we made. In the end, I don’t think we should re-live memories, or gather the old 5 stack again, because it ended for a reason. Which is why to fill the “void”, consider just making new friends and new memories instead of dwelling on things like this. Recently, I’ve been finding myself, and I’ve unlocked a bunch of core memories or hidden ones perhaps, and I feel so blinded by how happy I was with other people, that I don’t even know how to be happy with myself. But doing old, and new hobbies have made me realized and re-learn myself, and love myself again. Thank you for the video, it was another step in opening an eye on my journey for myself.

It's okay, I'm not someone who dwells or tries to re-live my past either. I've been making a lot of new friends in real life and it's definitely helped shape me more into the person I want to be. I guess this video was more of a reflection on how League used to be, but no longer is that place.

It feels lonely because what you once valued is now gone. Along with those values comes the childhood memories of playing after school, That's a major reason why it hits so hard because things change so much just from being the average primary school student to suddenly graduating and still playing that same game we used to play throughout primary/highschool days. You did an excellent job executing the transparency in this video, it hit me and made me remember other memories from other games that I have played along the way with the people around me, the thrill and rush of getting home from school just so that I could jump on the game with all my friends. Daniel, Sometimes you have to replace those old memories with even better ones and maybe you don't have to forget about those other memories you hold onto so dearly, The beauty of having a memory is that they stick with you for as long as you live and you can always cherish and talk about those memories with your friends. That being said, I used to watch your videos 13 years ago, I went from watching your videos after school to meeting you in voice chat and becoming a mod for you, You've got a ridiculously good staple on capturing the way you feel for a moment you want to share such as this video, I felt goosebumps as you spoke about your transparency and that hit hard. Anyway bro you're a great guy, Always around and you know that ! - Thanks for being a good mate and most of all staying true to those around you, Your music is great and you're doing great, Keep it up.

I hope your music career kicks off somewhere as your last few releases have been absolute bangers with the spotify records to prove it. Been an avid watcher for probably 4 - 5 years now but everything you mention is true especially "the best meta wasn't anything to do with gameplay, but the friends we made a long the way". League has changed, people grow and life in some states can sadly move on. I think you not only speak for yourself but many others as well. 34 here and have played for years and at the same point in my life. It’s so lonely and I played wildrift and just can’t seem to find a community with in it anymore. The whole extreme ban chat is not great, and I’m the oldest female I know that plays so finding friends my age group to play this game is impossible . This video really made me sad when I first started off in this game it was in my early 20s and had great friends at the time then later met my partner and had two kids with him and we don’t even play together in wildrift. It really is an anti social game. Thank you for this video. Maybe we all can find an adult routine with a new fun game.

I can relate to this a lot I moved to Japan last year and it's so difficult to make friends here that play League of Legends. My Japanese isn't good enough to have full on conversations so most of the time when I play with other people here I can only say basic things, and I really do miss socializing whilst playing league or playing clash with all of my buddies and trying our best. I really love living here but man the biggest thing that I miss is exactly what you described in this video about five man stack league every night. I also used to play in for fun League of Legends tournaments and I can't play those anymore either. Whilst I'm super happy in terms of real life, I am simultaneously doing really bad with my online life. if you ever need a buddy to play with whilst visiting Japan, I'd love to game.

Growing older is a tough thing, and the nostalgia of your younger years will always manifest - whatever the memory-medium might have been. For me, I am now 28 and I only started playing League in Covid times about 4 years ago! I still regularly have 5-stack teams as a bunch of my friends have also just started recently playing.. It might be a social bubble, you might be bummed out with what League is now compared to back then... RIOT's changes to tackle toxicity have certainly not helped engagement with other players... I really feel that too :( Hope you find people to play with again! Because, in my opinion, it is (still) a very lovely game to play - especially with friends!

Not going to lie I've been feeling the same way since 2020. For the past four years, I've been mostly playing alone without any true friends to team up with regularly. Like you mentioned, the strict chat rules make it hard for players to interact without fearing a chat ban, which just adds to the loneliness. I've had a few friendly interactions with random players over the years, but they always seem to stop playing for reasons I never get to know. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one feeling this way. Your video captured this issue perfectly. Thank you for shedding light on this topic and making me feel less alone in this experience. Keep up the great work RTB!

Even with the chat restrictions, the League community is still pretty terrible. In my personal experience, I've found that team chats are only getting worse. It's harder to make friends now because everyone's either clout chasing or projecting their miserable life onto everyone else. :/ I've still had good interactions with people, but it's rarer now than it used to be. And I think a large part of that is because all of the NICE League players got their lives back after quarantine eventually lifted. Those of us that are left have to deal with the sh*tters who have been a plague to the community since forever, because they don't go outside period... and I know that doesn't say much about me, because I also spend a lot of time on my computer, but I don't neglect life and happiness either. Unfortunately, people who can appreciate the good things like that are very rare in the community. And then the people you DO connect with end up disappearing at random without ever trying to get to know you. On the bright side, all the weirdness surrounding the current League community has got me going out more. Life still has a lot to offer, and... who knows... maybe you'll meet your next 5 man lobby irl. :) You're definitely not alone!

I have been playing this game for a couple of years now. I've experienced some people that I made friends with online was because of the game, sometimes they'll be online and sometimes they won't. Some are relatively busy with whatever they are doing, or the fact they can't exactly play because of a potato PC (I'm relatively guilty on that, but I still make time to play with my friends as we're just a couple of Bronze players playing for fun at times). Honestly, the bonds you can make in this game when not being toxic, it's an enjoyable experience, it in itself could feel like you are in an anime and you are uniting a group to enjoy things like a slice of life anime. This video makes me realize that things do change, and I can understand it mostly. Still, I wish you the best of luck on your journey of finding your passions man, and enjoy it to the fullest when you get the chance!😉

At first i was flamed every game for being bad and I was too nervous to type. My league friend was better than me, so we didn't play much, but as I've loosened up, I've met people in college who play, and the game they play is the furthest thing from solo queue. We watch pro games together, play arams, and do clashes sometimes, and people don't tilt that much, even though I'm still bad 😅 Love your content RTB, whether you're trying Jinx out for the first time or racing your friend to diamond, you've always been a joy to spectate

Hey Daniel, I've been watching your content for 6 years, which was when I started League. Thanks for always creating fun League content over the years, I always looked forward to them every week. Truly, you are right and that League has gotten lonely. Throughout the years, I've seen the very people who got me into League get busier and bored of League simply because there's more interesting games out there these days and being an adult means having to worry about things like money over games. I've watched friend groups and league ccs come and go, as well as drama unfold over the years. But truly, I'm very thankful that you're one of the few League ccs that still manage to post funny League content. Good luck on your music journey Daniel, your content has always been something I looked forward to!

I can relate, i started league when i was 17 in 2018 , and that was because of my friends but now i'm 23 and im honestly the only who still logs on to league every now and then to play one game by myself while my friends, well some are married, some pursuing their career and some who just fell out of my life, it is what it is but i still miss those late night games where we couldn't really end on a loss and played till 4 am and i had to leave for high school at 7 am, ah well

You have created such great videos that record your actual experience in this game and they never fail to bring smiles on my face. League can get lonely sometimes and I understand if you want to take a break to focus on your music career. Just know that you have a fan who used to come for your LOL videos but now come for your personality and I will continue to support you on whichever path you may choose in the future. Peace!

I love you RTB, honestly one of the few lol content players that make me love the game, Honestly speaking ever since i started to play the game, I loved it, i still do, just there were too many problems associated along the way, and it effected me mentally and socially. Like having league really made me so addicted and toxic, i didn't realize it then, but now i do, watching streamers i used to look up to, now seem very toxic and losers so to speak. I quite the game for good many times, 5 months, 8 months, 1 year, I always come back to it after and still end up hating it after 2-3 games, i never deleted it though, i still watch some of its content, hence, this video. but honestly speaking, this game is the reason why i was not happy, it was just not something i ever vibed with. friends were always better than me, people trolling all the time, cant play casually because i have this try hard mentality in everything i do in life. so i always quite, and keep it installed to remind myself that there were darker times i went through and managed to surpass it with strong will to better myself. I found bouldering, exercising as you mentioned, all of a sudden i dont like league anymore, bouldering is my recommendation to anyone who is feeling the same as you. it is such a friendly sport, easily make friends, easily improve, work together, no enemies, no obsticals except yourself and mentality to improve, it is such an amazing sport, all of that coupled with the amazing outdoor adventures you get with all the friends you make along the way, unforgettable times and experience, memories that actually get saved into your brain, unlike a clip or a kill you made in a game that you will forget about in 2 days. so go out there and learn bouldering and make friends.

thanks for the suggestion! I do have avenues to get myself out there a lot more, one being the communities I have built with my local football club as well as some Japanese football clubs but I guess it's very seasonal dependent (since during the off-season I have nothing much to do). But maybe I'll try giving bouldering a go sometime!

I just recently started playing the game (around 2 years ago now) and in the beginning had a shitton of fun but recently the game became very stale. Not much of my friends i met along the way even come online anymore. I have around 400 people in my friendlist and i still struggle to even get one person to play with me. But hey. Its just a game after all. Life is moving on and so are your friends changing along the way. I am just about to start my career so its kind of sad to see that i cant even really enjoy the last month of league where i really have the time for it. Recently i played a lot of Tft because its a really fun game and managed to hit Master with like 150 Lp. Fun time.

I'm almost 34 years now and I started playing league in Season 2. As someone that's always avoided playing ranked and only ever play Normal blind or draft, my experience has been overall quite positive and still is. I almost never have to play solo and still get into many 5 stacks with friends. Most of my old friends aren't around anymore as you said. But I made new friends on League, most of whom I found when playing with randomers in normals! If you want some tips on how to do this let me know. I'm also on EUW so hey if you want people to play with let me know too. :) I'm happy playing with anyone as long as they're not toxic!

I feel you bro, I too started playing this game in 2020(Covid duration), played it for 3.5+ years and in this I used to have a full 5-men squad of friends online (I've never met them IRL or talked on voice chat ever) but we used to play each night here in my country and day in theirs as they were from Europe(I used to play in EUW) we all were a great team though we never cracked a big rank but still it was fun to play each night with them excited for it, but guess we all grow up, they were all older than me so they all left because of their personal life's and me too now have stopped playing it for almost a year now because of my work and study, but it was GGZ Old Times!

I've been playing League for about as long as you have, maybe a bit more, and I'm not much better than you are either. But to me, enjoying League as much as I am, especially when I compare it to how most people see their time on League, never was about the meta, the win or the perfect team. Sure, it is satisfying to see everything come together and have a perfect masterpiece. But if that's how you define your fun on League, you're gonna have a hard time enjoying it. To me, the way I have fun in pretty much every game, is to simply enjoy my champ and the challenges that come with the game. Sitting back, and enjoy the simple things. My friends on League have changed, my duos as well, mainly due to the fact that I'm not trying so hard anymore. I'm simply launching the game, queuing for a game, and playing it. Take the time to spread positivity in chat, encourage the team, congratulate them. Lift the morale. Little by little, you're gonna find ways to enjoy the game again, in a way similar to the way you did past then. Of course, it's never gonna be the same. But that's simply the human nature, things change, and with them, we simply need to change as well. We all have our doubts about things at some point. Give it some time, you're gonna find your own way

This is so relatable, you captured the feeling so well... League was a social game, like it was going to a bar. You go for the friends, not for the drinks. Same on here. Don't have much to add that others haven't said already: try to pursue new hobbies and mix in old ones, have something to look forward to, and enjoy new friendships while remembering the old ones. Just try to not feel too attached or sad over them. Adult life is hard and we are all trying our best, we are not as happy as we used to be, but still... We somehow find new ways to connect with people and have a great time. Thanks for everything Daniel, you are doing amazing, and I hope we can see more of your future for a while. ❤

I was exactly in the same boat as you! I got into league, made friends in league, but people just leave, thats life right, people go do their own stuff, move on, grow up, but in the last few years I have logged and no one was there, only me, I tried to group up with randoms, meet randoms, but things never sticked, I have never been banned, I'm overall ultra positive, and more then anything, I love league of legends, I remember I would never play ranked solo, because I always had people to duo, I never reached diamond during those times, but things were more fun cuz of friends! As people left I started to play solo more and more, I reached master 560lp last year for the first time, and this year again, but it felt empty, good in a way to get a goal done, but super super empty in another, there was no one to celebrate with, to play with, I have made new friends in life, college/work/online, but getting them to try league with the reputation it has (90% of the player base hate the game and cannot be social by chat) and it being a sea of smurfs or fresh new players vs decade old players with hundreds of champions and knowledge to learn is literally IMPOSSIBLE! Just like you, I do blame riot for lack of social care/chat, a voice chat connects people in human ways, the game feels robotic, however I also believe even with everyones complains, riot did a great job with league over the years and that's why it still is popular overall! I still love league but learned to move on, I don't know if you will read this, but I highly suggest you try SUPERVIVE, it's an new game made by ex-riot employs that was called Project Loki, this game is the only game that have gave me the same fun as league in years, and that's because I managed to get many friends from fps, mmos, etc to try the game and they enjoyed it! It felt like playing league S3, with everyone learning together and just having fun, it's more casual as a battle royale, soo there is a lot more RNG that results in less competition, but still feels competitive, however you don't see as much rage or teamates blaming each other! More important then anything, they have voice chat, I spoke with soo many randoms during the closed alpha, and it's really fun! Maybe check it out!

I got into the game about 5 years ago because it was one of the few my brother would play. Of course I really enjoy when I got to play in larger groups but most of the time I’m just happy to play a select few people from time to time. Even though most of my old league friends have stoped playing as often or even stopped playing, my brother recently got back on and it feels better than old times. I’m still invested in the game, maybe moreso because it’s become a way to keep in touch with friends and family even after I moved away. I also decided to use the game as a way to challenge myself as before I wasn’t really serious or trying to learn and that has kept things interesting. I think the recent changes have been net positive, I feel safer when I play and quick play allows for me to play games without having to claim positions in the old blind mode. I’m excited for the new pve game mode, and I’m making new friends to play leauge with. That being said I try to mix up my life and play other games, hobbies, etc when my friends aren’t on or I’m not trying to progress my own game skills. RTB I love ur videos and I hope you continue to develop your music and life outside league, and that games (including league) help you to connect with friends both new and old.

I really like the music you've been releasing! Hope you can make a career out of it! Regarding the league bit, it sucks if it's your main game and especially for the purpose of doing things together with friends. As we grow up, we indeed grow further apart in some ways, but also towards eachother in other ways. So my thoughts are to find those new ways to have fun with friends (new games have come out u know) and other ways of enjoying things by yourself (you're the only one who can enjoy your life). You're already doing great by picking up the hobbies you have, and ey maybe you'll learn to enjoy league by yourself. In the end, don't worry, ur not alone in this, we're all there rn (25yo myself and dealin with the same) and this is I think the challenge of our era: being happily independent while contributing to a hyper connected society. I know you can do it and much love to ya fam! More than happy to play sum league with ya if ur ever on EUW!

I played ASOL Toplane before he got reworked and i loved it, and got somewhat success with my channel. Then riot removed my champion from the game and i took a long break from the game. Now it's like whenever i load in, i just miss what once were. Whether it's old asol, old league or my old duo partner, league is not the same.
