​@@jeriatrick There are no judges in low level magistrates proceedings. A huge number of cases given a guilty verdict by the laypeople chosen to sit would not be by an actual judge, unfortunately not enough people use their powers of appeal to gain actual justice in this country

Time for a mandatory course where phone drivers have to meet victims of traffic offences where phone use was a contributing factor.

Now these are two examples of where 6points and a maximum fine are totally needed especially the woman in the red car that was still on the phone after being caught . The two women have demonstrated why mikey’s work is so valuable

@@winksongs if a cyclist hits someone, odds are the collision will be minor (yes I know there will obviously be exceptions where serious injuries occur, but it's much rarer). If a distracted driver in an SUV like the one in the video hits someone, odds are the collision will be serious just due to the mass of the vehicle.

Well handled. Drivers with such hair triggers are very concerning. Makes me wonder if the driving test should involve some kind of psychological examination. I smiled when she started using her phone to film you. A classic case of self incrimination.

Tbh if you're doing something that can potentially kill someone through sheer ignorant selfishness, I couldn't give a gnats chuff about harassment.

what a karen! apart from using her phone, a driver in that state of mind is a danger to everyone. she should be banned from driving until completing an anger management course.

All that legal stuff she thinks she's quoting, I'm sure the judge will happily correct her..

as a lot of these phones are £1000 the fine should be that £1000 plus as such can afford.

I am genuinely impressed that UK police actually take action in these cases. I've called the police in relation to clearly drunk drivers (drifting between lanes, hitting gutters, going on the wrong side of the road etc) and the police got annoyed at ME for reporting it and started to angrily say "how did you know they were drunk? What do you expect us to do, come out and pull their car over?" Well. Drunk or not, driving on the wrong side of the road is dangerous. And yes, i do expect you to stop them and check they are safe to drive, because that is literally the job of road police.

This is the thing I wish the world could work together on. In the uk and London where I live the metropolitan police have a online submission where you can use dashcam evidence to report bad driving or phone use like this. Been using it to report drivers with my car dashcam. Last report was with a car who thought its okay to overtake cars on a temp traffic light and cut in front of me when the lights went green and I started moving. Got an email that the police are taking action

It's worrying how few drivers know the law, or ignore it. I was on a run today in fluroescent green in broad daylight and had a collision with a car when the old driver just drove through me crossing a junction. Pedestrians have had priority for two years now! Thankfully I was unharmed. Keep up the good work Mikey and get these clueless drivers off the road.

You can't possibly report me for doing something illegal and now I'm going to prove how little I know about the highway code which is going to go down very well with the magistrate.

Another case of a person who knows that they're clearly in the wrong, but decides to scream and shout like a Banshee and accuse Mikey of harassment! the points system should be 6 points minimum, with discretion for the magistrate to award up to 12 points. Clearly that woman needs help and should not be driving. Also, she's on a low income as she's driving an MG and I bet she thinks its a Range Rover.

i drive a wagon and all i see every day when i stop at lights of traffic jams is people on there phones, i dont get it, so many hands free devices to help so why use the phone, keep doing what your doing. well done

Should have schooled her for the ‘harassing drivers’, I’m no lawyer but I’m fairly confident harassment is when you target the same person over and over, given this is first time you met these people (or clearly didn’t learn their lesson the first time) then it’s ’literally’ impossible to be harassment. She sounds like the type of person to try bully and intimidate people into doing things her way. Hopefully she’s smart enough to search her number plate and can see how in the wrong she is.

As a non-cycling motorist even i do not understand why people do this. Most, if not all, cars/vans made in the past 10 years have blue-tooth radios fitted and cradles are a very cheap alternative if they don't . Why risk a £100 fine and 6 points plus increased insurance? Truly beyond me

I always love the semi-legalese language these drivers come out with to justify what they're doing wrong. They all turn into Charlie Kelly. Then the go ballistic when you suggest that they make that argument to a magistrate. Also overtaking another car in traffic so that you can shout abuse at someone has got to be the very definition of harassment.

In Spain , you can be fined for driving while wearing a big jacket. Restricts movement in the car

Hate junctions like that where two lanes merge to one just after the lights. No fun on a bike as the car in the other lane will almost squash you out the way -but even in a car, unless you are a local, you can get into trouble. There are always rules as to how you are "expected" to merge-and if you get them wrong, woe betide you!

I personally would love her to plead not guilty, as she used her excuse that she was stationary! ( Using a hand held device whilst in control of a motor vehicle applies, as in the engine is still on, so she is control of the said vehicle ) then she appears at the magistrate court and all the evidence, as in your video footage would be played and as a punishment she would incur a bigger fine for her stupidity and rudeness, along with you being there to almost say, "I told you so, but you wouldn't believe me!

This guy right here, absolutely love this, saw the other videos you've done 100 percent love this guy is doing the right thing. There is rules for a reason and seeing this made me laugh and happy to see someone actually doing something.
