Why is it so HEAVY? The NMD W1 Review

This shoe does have some heft to it but it is still going to be a classic and is comfy for sure!

Tried these today. I think I’m going to order I have back issues especially when it comes to shoes that I wear so I hope they will help with support. How has the support been for you?

I know it's wasteful, but you say rubber is heavy and I do believe you. I'm curious how much though? Like, does it contribute to, say, a third of the weight? Can you remove the outsole and weigh it?

Yeah, just the weight alone already shows a thicccc and heavy sneaker. Even the upper knit without the mid-sole be like 1 gram in weight..LOL. Definitely a everyday wear beater and might I add, with the boost that thick, you are riding on a cushy bouncy pillow. I have a pair of the Parley Ultraboost when first came out and first pair of UB sneaker I own and I gotta say, UB tech is something else and one of most comfortable mid-sole I have worn. Follow by 350 V2 which is decent with the Boost, but not as good as any UB line for bounciness and comfort.

    Are these true to size?

You didn’t mention that they don’t run true to size. I wear a size 9 and had to get them in a size 8.

So you did have to go DOWN a size? I’m trying to get a pair for my girlfriend and trying to see if I need to size down

Gotta feel it on foot but that weight for a running shoe makes sense for a durable everyday trainer not a sprinter or marathon length shoe. I may try when they go on sale. Love the reviews

i LOVED the look of this shoe. went straight to my local JD sport. put it on.. felt sooo loose around the opening/ my ankle. and the stitching on the back seam was rough. i knew if id wore them for long id have a blister. made me so sad. was this one just a fluke? should i ask to try another? i have several NMDs and adidas in general and never had the looseness feeling.

Hi, Not asking you to cut them in half to check but are you sure the sole is 100% BOOST ?

Yea I’m pretty sure. What are you thinking is in there? A shell of boost? If I find a super discounted pair, I’ll cut it open for sure.

@@TiffanyBeers Hmmmm...If it was full BOOST, not sure the shoe would be stable. The midsole is so thick and the side counters are minimalist compared to other models like the NMDs.
