Why is it so Hard to Lose Weight?

Why is it so hard to lose weight?
First, you have all these people telling you that it's a simple equation of calories ins calories out.
It's not that simple
It's much more dynamic than that - when you do that, your metabolism slows down, and it doesn't factor in hormones, like insulin, cortisol, thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone. It doesn't factor in gut health, micronutrients, or mitochondrial health.
The FDA also allows for a 20% margin of error for all nutrition facts. Seems unreliable.
Restricting calories disrupts thyroid function and the speed of your metabolism
66% of the adult population is on medications and one of the side effects is unwanted weight gain.
People say you can eat whatever you want.
If you want to successfully lose weight without counting calories - address your gut health, eliminate processed foods, fix your hormones, and lift some weights - give me a follow if you want to do that

@@davenorth2903just eat normal amounts of anything except sugar. Eat less sugar than normal, not avoid sugar entirely, but be conscious of it. Generally the most important thing you can do is know how much you are eating in a day. Take notes of everything you ate one day and calculate the calories and micronutrients. If the micros are good then all you gotta do ia adjust the meal sizes depending on your weight goal. If they aren't, fix them and do what I said.

No matter what I did, I'd stay the same weight. I barely ate and exercised every day. If anything, I'd gain weight because I was gaining muscle. Years later I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and shortly after that with Celiacs disease. I still have trouble but it's much better now that I'm on thyroid medicine.

The majority of people who tell you to count calories are also very health conscious. I hear plenty of them advocate a meat based diet. That being said you should still count calories otherwise you are going to gain weight if overeating (yes you can overeat protein). Also if you overeat protein and are on a low to no carb diet, converting protein to energy is inefficient so you better get enough fat!
