The first five books of the OT shows how much mercy and love He had for the Jews. As I read it, the Jews were irritating me, lol, but God had so much compassion for them. I think the difference people see is the tone. For example, in the OT any woman who committed adultery was stoned to death. Then, in the NT, look at how much compassion He had for the woman who was caught in the act of adultery. You can see differences there. The woman at the well is another example. He told her that He is not condemning her, but in the OT He condemned such a thing. Feedback requested.

The Heavenly Father and Yahweh are two different people. The Heavenly Father is kind, loving, merciful, and slow to anger. Yahweh is wrathful. You don’t see Jesus in the New Testament call his Father Yahweh or Jehovah. Jesus says Abba, Father, and the word Heavenly Father is used. Notice Jesus preaches the exact opposite of what Yahweh says or does from the Old Testament.

God Our Father in Heaven does not change...but He does warn us that the deceiver is already here and that he desires to sit in the seat of Our Heavenly Father. The reason we can see such a big difference...opposites in fact, is because they are. the LORD of the old testament actually is (Yahweh) in the original text. and Yahweh or YHWH as it is spelled kills innocent, refuses to let the ill come near him, hardens hearts, and leads his people to destruction. We are also told that... John 1:18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is at the Father's side, has made Him known. So whoever Moses talked to...wasn't God! The Messiah tells the church leaders who all follow YHWH of the Old Testament that they follow their father the devil and will never make it to the kingdom of God. And we are told clearly when we compare verses such as... 2 Samuel 24:1 Again the anger of the LORD (Yahweh) burned against Israel, and He stirred up David against them, saying, "Go and take a census of Israel and Judah." And in 1 Chronicles 21:1 we are told that same being is satan! And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel. The LORD of the old testament is what the Messiah warned us about and told us that satan is the god of this world. And although I do not understand all the reasons why...the Messiah died on the cross to "buy" back the souls that fell under satan's lies.

Despite your childish accusations, you still didn't post one verse, but you go off saying that "the Lord" never repents that you are familiar with. Look it up! 2Sa 24:16 KJV And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite. This verse is from the very same story that I posted about already where "the Lord" killed 70,000 people that he tricked David into counting . If you had the tools for Bible study you could have searched to find 30 more verses. Do you really want to be counted with the people too stubborn to study a matter before condemning it? Of all the children "the Lord" killed, are you saying that you can't think of one time that it was unrighteous? I challenge you to post a verse where you think it was just.

The only difference is there is the Jesus crucified on the cross. In the old testament, sin is covered by blood of animals. This does not remove sin but covered temporary. When Israel turn away from God to follow other false Gods, Israel stopped offering animals sacrifice for their sins. When their uncovered sins reach a certain limit, God has to punish them. But in the new testament which is after the death and resurrection of Jesus, all sins have been removed. Therefore, there is no longer for any need to offer animals as sacrifice for sins. Instead of punishment, God is dispensing grace and calling out to all man to accept his free gift of salvation. But punishment will still come at the end of the age of grace for those who rejected the salvation of God, those who trusted in their own good works as salvation and those who want to pay for their own sins. Hebrews 10:4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

while it's true that you can't trust in your own good works for salvation, for all men have sinned against God, and that forgiveness comes through the blood of Christ, make no mistake, those who're lawless, those who don't earnestly try to obey the commandments of God, don't love him, they will be counted among the adversaries, and cast into the lake of fire, this is what the scriptures say, over and over again, even the scriptures that the modern and worldly church has dubbed all by it's own volition "the new testament", no such distinction is made in the scriptures. The primary message of the scriptures is the same from beginning to end, "obey and it shall go well with you, and you shall receive life, disobey and be an adversary to God, and be forever cursed"..... that is the long and short of the scriptures, and if you genuinely Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, mind, spirit, and strength, and love your neighbour as yourself, then you won't sin against God because you love him and will obey him, and neither will you sin against your neighbour because you love him as yourself..... thus the law will be fulfilled.... however no man is perfect, when we sin, we're to confess our sins to God, and pick up our cross once again, and follow after him. God bless and keep you.

What I have come to is to call the OT revelation of God mysterious. Because there are certain things I cannot understand, being gentle and reformed in Spirit. I cannot comprehend idol worship in the traditional sense, meaning worshipping a metal statue. I cannot comprehend how isreal could rebel against a God who appeared to them in physical forms and signs all the time. I cannot understand how or why the Israelites were required to capture every city and kill pretty much every person in the promised land. Their opponent's were evil, and I guess that is one way to keep things pure. That God was angry with all of Israel because of one man's family (asher) stealing some objects and then 26 people died in battle because the Lord was not with them due to the guilt of that man's family. I can accept it on faith, with the idea that God will help me understand later. The God revealed in the OT is not perfectly revealed, but is shrouded in mystery and confusion. A bible believer my whole life of 37 years and the culture is so different from one testament to the other that I still cannot grasp it. But in faith, all things are possible.

    1. I think that Israel as humans are sinful despite the miracles or signs they won't just FULLY commit to the Lord due to their sinful nature. Just as they have been since the beginning with adam and eve they were pure and given a choice to identify good and evil for themselves than to trust in God and guide them to what the true Good and evil is. So this pattern kept on repeating on and on. This might be a weak example but it's the best I can think of. Me as a student wants to be a Doctor and the teachers always tells me to study hard so that I get to be a doctor and I know that this is the truth and I have seen everything that has to be done to reach my goal but despite all these evidences I just wouldn't do my part, always procastinate, ignore what the things that I should do which I know I should do inorder to reach my goal. The same with the Israelites they've been spared and chosen as the people of God and through them the world shall be blessed but despite the wondrous promises given to them, miracles they know and see firsthand since they got out of Egypt their nature/sin just kicks in and redirects to the wrong path. But not all hope is lost for God will always use these events through out history for his glory and everything will fall in place just as he promised.

@@fadedhope5 @Joshua Walters We have to remember that the old testament that the only way to cleanse someone from sin is through sacrifices of animals such as lambs and goats since the blood represents life according to the bible in replacement of a persons judgement the animal shall die for the person and be cleaned but only temporarily and once they commit sin they once again need a sacrifice to cleanse themselves. We also need to remember that God is eternally just and holy but he is also eternally loving ang gracious so it is really not surprising if he is brutal however you might want to put it since he is Holy and and just he will punish those who are sinful but because of his love and grace he made a way to purify and save mankind from his eternal wrath through his only begotten son Jesus. The old testament is a story of the history of creation, Gods promise to save mankind from sin and the display of his eternal Justice and Glory it also is sort of a filter for us to see if we are clean and live by the commandments of God. Through the old testament we can see history time and time again how humans are really corrupt and there is no way for us to be saved except through his promise to Abraham and later on the other prophets that there will be a Glorious King that will save us all from sin. That's where the new testament comes in the enactment of the prophecies which God has revealed in the old testament. The display of Christ sinless life and he shoulder all of mankind's sin by dying on the cross despite bearing no sin and showing his eternal Love and Grace.

It does not talk about why we celebrate David after reading his stories and songs of war. It does not talk about God sending two bears to maul 42 kids for mocking Elisha. If he determines that's the punishment, so be it, who are we as men to argue with the Lord? God is who he is, he isn't who people WANT him to be...... his ways are his, and all authority is his. Do you take issue with what the Lord has deemed fit to do? (i'm not assuming you do by the way, this is merely for IF you do) and if so why? do you know BETTER than he who created all of creation? better than he who searches the hearts of men, and will recompense them according to their deeds?......

The Hebrew world that king James translates as children actually refers to a group of young men. It's unlikely that 42 literal children were standing outside to mock a man. There's missing context in what you said about that anyways. Also, the Israelites were killed by Moses for idolatry. Imagine you are god and you just pulled a people out of servitude and a short time later they're questioning you and praising a golden calf, I have a feeling you wouldn't be too happy with that. Also, the fact that Moses had them put to death just strengthens the position that he had a genuine experience with god. If he made it up for power, as modern "experts" claim, then I doubt he'd slay three thousand much needed laborers and warriors for offending a god he made up in his own mind.

You say they’re aren’t contradictions but why is it that we only see god’s wrath in the Old Testament? Where are the New Testament equivalents of the flood, the plagues, raining literal fire and brimstone on a city, turning someone into a pillar of fire? All the New Testament verses you use are only people telling others that god will punish them but no examples of his wrath, outside of things like Jesus flipping the merchants tables at the temple.

I think maybe since the old testament was before God’s full fulfillment of salvation through Christ. As the bible says we are made right by Jesus’ blood. We have to remember God is both just and merciful. In His justice He can not overlook our sins or leave them uncondemned, but in His mercy made us right by Jesus blood. So since now Jesus has made us right, maybe that’s why we no longer have to experience those type of events, and i thank God for that. God bless ✝️🫶

Who is Yahweh? Refer to 2 Samuel 24:1 "and again the anger of Yahweh was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah" Now cross-reference this to 1 Chronicles 21:1 "And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel". Also Gen 3:1-8 "Satan came in the form of a HISSING SERPENT", Isaiah 7:18 "And it shall come to pass in that day, that YAHWEH shall HISS". The mystery of the ages which has blinded and confused the Christian world these past 2000+ years is that the OT is a Jewish book of stories about 2 gods, their tribal god called Yahweh, and the true God, the Father which Jesus came to reveal and to save us from the condemnation of Yahweh. Why do you think Yahweh gave them the 10 commandments? The law kills like Paul said because it's a setup! No one can keep them, so Yahweh is guaranteed to bring death to ALL mankind (The wages of sin is death). Jesus beat him at his own game by "fulfilling" all of them and being killed sinless! Why do you think Jesus rose from the dead? because he didn't earn the punishment of death! Death could not hold him to any sin! There are two ways to know which god the OT is referring to at any time. 1. look at the original word for God, Lord, and see if it is Yahweh or EL (EL is the Father). 2. The Father (True God) is love, cannot lie, has no darkness in Him, does not want sacrifices, and much more, Yahweh is the complete opposite, he comes to steal, kill, lie and destroy. Look it up yourselves and be free of the religious matrix. Peace.

I just figured maybe we were the first beings God ever created in his likeness and with free will. If that is the case then God would have no previous interactions with beings so much like himself. We have each other to interact with as equals but God would would have no equal to interact with. Before we learn how to interact, how do we behave when we don't get our way? As babies, we throw a fit. Perhaps our likeness to God is not only our appearance but also our wide range of emotions. God is all knowing, as in the universe and everything in it, but that might not mean God does not still learn about himself. The Bible says God wept after the flood. Maybe he did not weep because he felt he made a mistake, but rather the way it made him feel to have to do such a thing. It is as if he did not expect to feel that way afterward if you ask me. God made a realization about himself it seems. We grow inwardly, perhaps God does also. We make decisions differently than we would when we were children, perhaps God also makes decisions differently now than he did back then based on what he has experienced over time. To say God does not grow would be to limit a limitless God.

i hear what your saying, however God is who he is, he's not who any of us WANT him to be..... You're right that God has the same wide range of emotions that we do, this is made VERY clear in scripture, the only difference is God is PERFECT in these emotions, his ANGER is PERFECT, his WRATH is PERFECT his JUSTICE is PERFECT, his LOVE is PERFERCT, his JOY is PERFECT as is his SADNESS, and RAGE, and JEALOUSY...... etc, unlike ours, where we're nearly incapable of such things in this fallen state..... this is one of the reasons i believe while we can pursue JUSTICE, it's VENGEANCE that shall be the Lords, for his vengeance will be perfect, not under measured, netiher over, but perfect, fitting the crime fully.... i don't think saying God doesn't grow would be limiting a limitless God.... i would instead say that God has already attained PERFECTION and the FULLNESS thereof, by which, nothing can be added, nor taken away, there is no shadow or variation with him, he is the same today, yesterday, and tomorrow, he who is, he who was and he who is yet to come, the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, he IS who he is, and he is God eternal. @@stevesmith7843 his state of perfection I just assumed was meant to say there is no decay, and he is all powerful. Perhaps I as a limited human, only have the ability to see things on my own terms. Why would a perfect God, perfect in all things, create imperfect humans that are disobedient and disappointing? Why would he be disappointed if he is all knowing? He knew in the beginning all that would happen, yet his behavior consistently is like that of one not knowing. That is why I guess I make the assumption for myself that his actions and emotions toward men so very much resemble the tantrums of a toddler. There was a documentary on child development that caught my eye some time back. They said toddlers have a really tough time coming to terms with not always getting what they want by crying anymore. They feel hurt and abandoned and to them it is like suddenly they are not loved anymore in the same way. They are heartbroken. I think the possibility exists that God created for himself the perfect puzzle in his design of mankind and the gift of free will. I do not personally know how else to reconcile some of the things he has done. God grows and matures and had fits of rage that he later regretted and has since changed his pact with man.

@@avery1234530 i definitely wouldn't liken God to a toddler..... your premise is fundamentally flawed. You ask why did God create imperfect humans that are disobedient and disappointing? he created creatures which had FREE WILL, it would be THEIR OWN choice whether to obey, this the Lord has no control over, while he can certainly INCENTIVIZE, ultimately one may choose to go to tarshish instead of ninevah..... i think that the Lord in his greatness knows every single possibility and outcome of everything ever, even when it comes to those who have free will, so lets say for example there was a 70-30 chance that adam and eve would reject satans temptation in the garden, the Lord allowed that dice to be rolled, and was fully prepared for the eventuality of it going either way, and was likely prepared for it before even satan knew he would tempt them..... You speak of his rage towards men and say they're the actions of a toddler, except they aren't. They're the actions of an adult, and an authority, for a toddler doesn't understand enough to make a legitimate decision, and judgement, where an adult weighs the circumstances, and makes a decision. a toddler could throw a tantrum about arbitrary things, however God doesn't do that, he has a righteous wrath when it comes to people being disobedient to his commandments, no different to a master to his slave, and we're all his slaves, made by him, for his purposes, like the rest of creation, he OWNS us outright...... God doesn't need to grow or mature, he is who he is, and his ways aren't our ways..... for who understands more of what's truly in a mans heart, the man? or God who created him, and sees the things of his heart that the man won't even aknowledge? while the Lord seemingly experiences all the emotions that we can being made in his image, he is infinitely more in touch with the realities of the world that he's created than any man can or will ever be, for he is its creator, to liken him to a toddler is a disgusting sentiment, and it shows no love nor understanding nor reverence nor fear of the Lord thy God, in truth brother it shows you haven't begun to understand a thing about him, and you believe the judgement of mere men, who only see 1% of visible light, to be GREATER and MORE AUTHORITATIVE than the creator of the entire universe, including man, who was responsible for the very foundation of the fabric of reality being laid....... it's a bizarre position to have, yet it isn't uncommon with men, for their pride is great, and their understanding little...... Jesus is the true image of the "One True God." Have you ever heard about Jesus killed a person? The answer is No. Jesus revealed that the Old Testament God was the Devil. Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word. You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me. Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.” -John 8:42-47 (NASB) Only the Devil has the power of death. Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham. -Hebrews 2:14-16 (NASB)

Read Isaiah 53 That prophesies Jesus Christ dying on the cross. That’s Old Testament. Read Genesis 1:26-1:27 that show’s the Trinity in the first chapter of the bible. Genesis 22 foreshadows Jesus’ death. Using Issac and Abraham. But Again For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18 And there is many more instances. The whole bible is about how God redeems his people. And how does he redeem his people through his beloved Son the Lamb of God who bore the sins of the World. So that those who have faith would be saved. But those who reject it stand condemned. And will get the wrath that all humans deserve.

The answer as to why God is different in the Old Testament (Jewish Torah) compared to the New Testament (Good News of Christ) is self-evident if you read Scripture: No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. John 1:18 39 They (The Jews) answered him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do what Abraham did, 40 but now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God; this is not what Abraham did. 41 You do what your father did.” They said to him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.” 42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded and came forth from God; I came not of my own accord, but he sent me. 43 Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:39-44 54 Jesus answered the Jews, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing; it is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say that he is your God. 55 But you have not known him; I know him. If I said, I do not know him, I should be a liar like you; but I do know him and I keep his word. John 8:54-55 4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God. 2 Corinthians 4:4 13 This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, 14 instead of giving heed to Jewish myths or to commands of men who reject the truth. Titus 1:13-14 Jesus comes from the Father, the God of Truth, Love, Forgiveness. The Jewish Old Testament refers to YHWH Elohim.

The Lord Jesus said: "I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now... But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth..." (John 16:12-13) And he also said: "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to." (Matthew 23:13) After all, God said in the 5th commandment "Thou shalt not kill!" - Who do you think said you will "kill" or "stone" or "use a sword to destroy everything that breathes (over everything that lives)"? Well - it certainly wasn't God - and who?...

This is simple: Old Testament God = Satan/Lucifer (hint: still in charge…) New Testament God = The TRUE God (who actually resides in us) - once we wake up and realize WHO/WHAT we are, and the power that we possess then we will be fine. 🙏🏾💕 - TIME TO WAKE UP…

So Jesus is Satan because he created Adam and Eve in the Old Testament? and Satan sent a false Jesus into the world? (John 3:16)

Because the New Testament is false, based on Greek and Roman mythology. That’s why they dont match.

It’s clear that they are the same God in Genesis. They match perfectly. Foreshadowing and prophesying Jesus’ death on the cross. And showing the Trinity throughout the Old and New Testament.
