WHY is EVERYTHING CLOSED in WAŁBRZYCH?

After visiting the Ksiaz Castle I had several hours before my train back to Wroclaw. I took the bus back to the Walbrzych Miasto train station and planned on eating dinner nearby. When I tried to find a restaurant, their was nothing open in the area. The only thing open were a Zabka and some liquor stores. There was a strange guy hanging around, who looked like he was on drugs. He kept swaying back and forth and looked like he could barely stand up. I decided to walk around the nearby area and see what I could find. This is the video of that experience in Walbrzych, Poland.

This material reminded me of what I probably wanted to erase from my memory. Two years ago when I was traveling around Silesia during the holidays. Full of historic towns, castles, palaces, mountains - a real paradise and I decided to visit Wałbrzych with my wife. For lunch. After the rest of the region, I expected it to be a great attraction. XD What a boomer. I experienced the same culture shock as the author. I thought there were no such places in Poland. Both markets are the only normal place in this city and everywhere around it was a horror. It was probably the first time in I don't know how long when I felt unsafe somewhere in Poland. Although I travel a lot around and I like to visit such a place that is not the first freshness. Just like in the video, everything were closed in the middle of the season in the middle of the day. We ate in one of the two open bars. To this day, I think it was the worst pork chop in my life. Wałbrzych, never again. This city is a mistake. There are some poor cities in this country, but I've never seen a city drag itself down so much by its own people.

Seem like we had a similar experience. The Ksiaz Castle was beautiful and I had a great time. But returning to the city was a bit of a shock. On my channel I tell it like it is, whether it be good or bad. Of course every country has a place like Walbrzych or worse. Thanks for sharing your story Drez. Luckily there are many beautiful cities in Poland too.

I suppose that you were here in late afternoon (i see sunset & shadows). Area around rail station Walbrzych Miasto is really empty in late afternoon. Walbrzych is broad city but real center of city width restaurants, shopping mall ect. are in Piaskowa Góra & Szczawno Zdroj. @@TravelAddictGuy W hour - it's exactly at 5pm, the sirens go off around the country , but first of all in Warsaw, people stops for one minute to pay a homage to fallen heroes fighting for freedom and human dignity during the Warsaw Uprising. It was the biggest rebellion in all countries occupied by Germany during the II World War. August 1st 1944. The outnumbered army was expected to stand up for a few days while help from allies would come, but they were fighting for over 2 months and no any help ever arrived. As a consequence, around 85% of Warsaw was literally razed to the ground by Hitler as a punishment for rebellion. To give you a picture you can search in youtube: minuta dla powstania
