The majority of websites populate their pages vertically, thereby leaving the horizontal space empty. That's why the bar is on the side.
the thing about arc on windows is, it's currently still missing a lot of features compared to it's mac counterpart, like ai integration, github integration if you are a dev or even ui wise it's not as powerfull as the mac but it still feels like a nice browser though
Arc is kind of fitting a niche. It's not like they reinvented the whole Internet, more like given it a more interesting looking style. I think Arc is great for people who try to organize everything as deeply as possible. I use Arc on my Windows PC and like it a lot. My only real problem with it is that it is built on top of chromium, so indeed not a reinvented version of the internet. Still cool though!
the spaces is awesome i use a space for personal, work, and school i can switch quickly to the other and keep all of their profiles separated too

arc on macos is more powerful they plan on bringing it to windows. they basically just brought the basics over for windows right now
"Is uBlock Origin installed by default? BASED!".
Mandatory accounts for a browser are a big no-no. Privacy is just too important to make an account that collects all our browsing data.
"Must make an account to use it." Not private from the first second of running.

it's way more private than Edge, Chrome or Opera tho

Yell kind of but also no. It has telemetry, which you can forcefully disable and the account doesn’t really do much but allow for syncing, only if you want it, and projects are up to bypass login in the browser
After downloaded the Arc, they get 2GB storage in just 30 mins, Too much heat. really, i deleted them instantly.
You honestly missed the power of spaces combined with profiles. When can set up different profiles for work and personal use and the stored passwords, logged in accounts and extensions are different between those two. Then you can set up different spaces and assign different profiles to them. That way i set up multiple spaces with my personal profile with different bookmarks. A space for all my gaming account and one only for socials. It is very strong but it’s mostly a laptop browser because you can easily switch spaces using a two finger swipe on the spaces bar.

Yeah.. you can do that in edge tho I like the ios app it’s nice but the desktop one seems like a dumber version of a web browser
The Ark is a popcicle-glamband from Tokyo in scandivavia. They are "big as the bamboo" and hosting over 5 billion fans around the global net- if the net was a nest- hosting fans as fans hosting baboons. Spiderweb, 5 mb/s.
wait. what are the people using firefox?

I honestly even forgot Firefox is a thing.

Firefox is mostly used to fight against chrome browsers, aka almost all other browsers as they wish to remove ad blockers and make usage of the internet a lot more intrusive with new functions for tracking etc, though it is a slower implementation of a browser and older
used opera for over 10 years now, but these days, i start liking more edge

Been using Chrome most of my life and for the past 2 years I also started using Edge more. Now it’s my favorite browser.

fr bro me too. really like the vertical tabs. you can hoard lots lots lots of tabs. hibernate it. so you can access your tab easier

the gesture feature of Edge is amazing.
Honestly, I think arc's hype is overrated. The browser is really nice on mac but not "game changer" the microsoft version is empty. It lacks a lot of features, the UI and UX are weak. Upgrades come little by little (which I can understand) but releasing a web browser with so few features and claiming to be "innovative" is cheeky. I have the feeling that there's a strong tendency with American companies to promise a "new" product and release it at 20% finished to take advantage of the hype, and then finish the product several months later.

I agree, you know what, @goofyzelkro? Some of Arc Browser's features already exist in Edge Browser. For example, there are folders as workplaces (Edge), split view, vertical tabs, and even tab pinning. I'm not the type of person who needs the extensive tab management that Arc offers. I agree with you that Arc is somewhat overrated.
Currently using a mix of Firefox and Vivaldi. While Arc feels like a Vivaldi with 2024 UI I didn't find it brings anything new to the table.
I am using firefox with sidebery, kind of the same...
sooo basically edge with vertical tabs always on, without many of the core features, and also requiring an account. yea umm Im gonna stick with edge
Yeah, I cant see the reason for the hype either, and I was one of the Arc for Windows beta testers. Btw it probably copied uBlock from your browser import.

I don't have uBlock on Chrome, just classic Adblock, so I assume it's just preinstalled then?

it's preinstalled
The only thing I think is useful is the split panes. Beyond that... Meh.
