You take about sunnah, start with your fard also Muslim brothers ignore the sunnah of fasting on mondays and Thursdays, they ignore the sunnah of praying 2 Rakats before fair, they forget that Tahajjud is a sunnah. The only sunnah they remember is to marry 4 wives... as Muslims we must fear Allah swt and not change the deen to suit our needs, unless we want Allah punishment to come upon us, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then one [marry only] from Quran... And you will never be able to be equal just between wives, even if you should strive [to do so]. From quran from Quran... Allah said Verily, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and he forbids immorality and bad conduct and transgression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded. Surat An-Nahl 16:90 And Allah says O you who believe, be persistently standing firm for Allah as witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just, for that is nearer to righteousness. Fear Allah, for Allah is aware of what you do. Surat Al-Ma’idah 5:8 “A man who has two wives and who is completely inclined to one and who ignores the other emerges with one side of his body paralysed in the Day of Judgment.” (Hadith; Ibn Majah, Nikah, 47; Mishkat al-masabih, 2/196) A woman does not consent to share her husband with another woman under normal circumstances, and no woman would like to marry a married man unless she has to. It is a necessity of belief that polygamy is right. However, to believe it does not necessarily mean for a woman to consent to the second wife and approve it. No believer father would like his son-in-law to marry a second, third or fourth woman along with his daughter. The jealous nature of the woman and the affection of the father for his daughter disapproves this. As a matter of fact, the daughter of our beloved Prophet, Sayyidah Fatima, objected to her husband, Ali’s marrying of a second woman. If it weren’t permissible to object, Sayyidah Fatima, who was brought up by our Prophet, would not have objected. The Messenger of Allah would have warned her and ordered her to consent to her husband’s wish. However, it did not take place like that. On the contrary, the Messenger of Allah, who saw that his daughter was worried, asked Ali to give up his wish and told him that if he did not give it up, he could marry another woman after divorcing Sayyidah Fatima. He did not consent to Ali’s second marriage to depress his daughter. By considering that act of the Messenger of Allah, it can be stated that Muslim daughters and fathers may object to the second marriage of their husband or son-in-law.

What is the reasoning behind it? Knowing the reason makes a big impact and helps reveal the intentions. I just need Zakir to tell me the “why” for his religion and i can make a decision on which to follow after that. I don’t need him to dissect what i know, just answer the question to enlighten me. We don’t ask questions to get scrutinized about what believe, we ask questions to learn. You are not trying to learn about Hinduism, you are turning the question around so you don’t have to answer it yourself.

I like how well-knowledged he is about all the statistics on males and females, and how he differentiated between different religions and how they are intertwined with the law in India. However, I completely disagree with this, he did not answer the question at all, instead pointed at every other religion. It did not clarify at all why muslim men are allowed to marry 4 wives exactly, should have referenced all the right reasons as to why from the Quran and from the prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him). Instead, he made it look like women need to be protected even in our modern world (women do not need to get married to live a fulfilled life, it is not a NEED). Also, what bothered me the most and got me so frustrated is that WOMEN ARE NOT PUBLIC "PROPERTY" IF THEY AREN'T MARRIED!!! I am so shocked at how accepting the comments are of this, and how the whole entire audience was praising what he has mentioned (especially the women). I a muslim women who takes pride in my religion and find islam so beautiful and wholesome, and am always happy to learn even more about islam. I hope to get married one day and already highly appreciate how supportive Islam is at the idea of marriage (sunnat al hayah) and was extremely frustrated to hear this being said. It especially did because it is allowing an ongoing misrepresentation on women's perception in Islam, not helping put Islam in a positive light for both faith seeking muslims and non-muslims.

Actually In Islam marring a second or third or forth wife is not that easy. There are some requirements you have to meet. I remember some like, You have to be Just, Be physically fit, have to have enough money and so on. Many doesn't dare marrying a second wife because of the first requirement. Because treating two wifes the exactly same and being just is not easy. If you cant do it you’ll be severely punished. This is all I remember rn. @@jolayemiayobami6989 no, it's not best. Maybe a contrast might help. Here in United States, in Euro American communities, men have affairs or they endlessly date without taking responsibility. I've given up on white men because the ones I've known take no responsibility for their decisions. No financial support. No emotional support. Just endless pushing for sex right away in dating and then demands for freedom to date others. It's a mess. The idea of a man being responsible, even if not full time, when he chooses to include a woman in his life feels so attractive compared to all my "freedom" to be nothing more than a bootie call. I don't need money, or a lot of attention. I've learned to meet my own needs without a man. So any attention from an honorable one feels like gravy.

No it's not best. You're right. Especially when there's small children involved. Anything that takes attention away from them isn't good, (including work not just wives). For me, I have no kids, can give financially to support, and. I'm used to meeting my own needs, so the idea isn't as ugly to me as ive been brought up to believe. It's much more dignified than dating.

And I suggest you stay off these types of sites because, as much as they claim to preach genuine criticism of Islam, they only support hate towards it like supporting Qur'an burnings and showing the face of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, astaghfirAllah. What about the fact that this particular verse related to polygamy was revealed right after the Battle of Uhud, when many women were widowed and children were left orphans? It was revealed to protect the women. Context is important! Men of the subcontinent have their own version of Islam where they won't follow a single Sunnah of Muhammad SAW but consider 4 marriages as an obligatory thing to do lol

Deuteronomy 17:17 - Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold. 1 Timothy 3:2 - A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 1 Corinthians 7:2 - Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Exodus 21:10 - If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

Instead of public property, she can stay single and get a job etc. but I do agree with the fact that Islam actually prohibits polygamy unless it’s in a war setting such as the battle of uhud…. Which by the way if you research it only the single men were called first to “help” the widows and orphans. When there was no single men left the married men were called upon and given circumstances and rulings of how big a job it is. The Quran is poetic, so ending the sentence of polygamy with “but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one,“ This was revealed to protect women exactly, it wasn’t reveled to allow men to be lustful.

Means if she does not get married, it's ok for men to see her as public property instead of working on their mindset and respect every woman. People sometimes stay quiet because they know investing energy in anyone who has toxic mindset is waste because their ego is too high which makes mindset so small to think and understand It was Lord's Ram father, but Lord Ram stayed committed to one wife because he was vishnu ka avatar. Also there's no comparison as mindset of them mentioned in the holy books while having multiple wives and his mindset is completely different Thankfully I am following Sikh Guru's wisdom which train a male's brain in a way that he does not consider women as a sexual or public property and gets married to help each other in increasing spiritual wisdom to reach higher self instead of getting indulge in sexual desires and letting their sanity get controlled by it

Prophet SAW loved his First wive even after she died. He protested against his second wive when she was talking about her disrespectfully. Fateema RA shared it with father when she came to know Ali was going to marry again.He told Ali RA to not marry again when he saw Fateema RA being disheartened. Thus the marriage was cancelled. 'If you can't do justice to 4, marry only one' before these words Allah mentioned about the widows and orphans who lost their husbands for war. The condition was to protect and support them, maybe the real reason for Polygamy is not remembered now.

First of all, one must understand that the original point of polygyny (erroneously called polygamy) was to provide for the maintenance of war orphans and widows during the time of the Prophet (saw) since there war many conflicts in which Muslim men were martyred. (Sadly, I NEVER hear scholars speak to this fact which leaves those who don't study the life of Rasulullah to draw ignorant conclusions.) The Prophet (saw) even married women who were past their reproductive years. Do you think he did this for sexual gratification? As head of the Islamic state and the Last Prophet (saw) he also married women in order to establish ties and calm hostilities with communities he wanted to bring into the fold of Islam. We need to study this deen!!

Paul gives explicit commands about marriage, he references the passage about being “one flesh” and compares it to Christ and His bride, the church (Ephesians 5:32). He concludes by instructing a husband to love his wife as he loves himself (verse 33). He does not tell a husband to “love all your wives.” The word wife is singular. It is a stretch to try to apply the command about being “one flesh” to a man and several women.

I watched a lot of his videos for the past couple of years and this is a whole different level of idiocy. I watched almost all of his videos and not even once did he actually answer the question asked to him. He always evades the actual point with other points that are full of fallacies and very inaccurate scientific "evidence". Its very easy to say "science" proves my point without actually providing accurate scientific evidence and its even easier to disapprove accurate scientific evidence when it doesn't serve my point and deem it as "a conspiracy on islam" He started pointing to other religions saying that they have figures who married more than one as if prophet Mohamed pbuh didn't have atleast 9 wives and some scholars even say he had 13 wives. I am not a certified scholar but I studied islam and the quran my whole life and memorized the quran and I could make a way better argument for this question. Its sad that people look at him as a good representation of Islam we can do better. We can have better people representing and defending our beloved religion but maybe that's why we'll always be the underdog. To everyone who disliked the video I'm sorry he didn't do justice in explaining the nature of Islam.

I think he fails to understand that if, as in Europe, women live longer than men then there will be more women than men. So the surplus millions of women are older than Dr Naik. To think of them as “public property” is just disgusting.
