I'm an inline skater and I just love it when people try inline skaing out - it's such an addictive activity, and sadly so underrated. It also reminds me of how hard it was at first to just do a crossover or stop. At the end of the day it's just a matter of balance (which is fundamental), stretch and a lot of practice. With time, you will gain a certain confidence in your skates, which is, in my opinion, a very beautiful feeling. They will become an extension of your feet 🥰

I’m an amateur in-line skater and recently got a hairline fracture in my leg by skating💀 really felt stupid how I didn’t even learn some basic tricks and just decided to go skate on a slope and proceeded to crash into a wall, watching this while my fracture recovers, and dude you’ve given me some crazy inspiration. I’ll start skating again after full recovery and learn from my (and your) mistakes!

I've been inline skating for 15 years now, and it's so beautiful to see someone trying it out and really giving it an honest shot. Your power slide was really impressive since that is a more advanced skill. Something you could have done that might have made the whole process a bit smoother is practice balancing on one skate (while moving). This is very helpful when going faster since you will be more comfortable with a longer stride, and it will help your balance in general. Also, I would have suggested learning to skate backwards before trying the power slide.

I use inline skates and believe me, they are harder then expected, they are even harder to put on, so it's very hard and I am impressed Mike can do inline skating pretty well! Also, for beginners, if you don't have traditional rollerskates, and only have inline ones, I suggest you to practice on a hardwood floor, it really helps! And if your doing it outside, it's even better since you can practice on the grass, that way, you can practice balancing! Also, if you do it on cement and you fall, try to be close to grass, so when you feel like your gonna fall, you will land on the grass and it won't hurt really bad then on cement! ^^

@@mawarnurma_just in case he never answers but i think when it comes to the time that could be up to you and the ammount of hours you want to put into, since i started when i was 10 i would just go skate after school til it was late with only breaks to eat and so, could say it took me a couple months but after that within the same year i started i was already jumping over 4 people max and doing tricks with it, one thing ill recommend is to mix the basics with a “trick” like trying to run in 1 skate to create balance which helps a lot. You can try using other youtube videos for more advance things but honestly time wise it all depends on how much you actually want to learn. If is out of curiosity you might get bogged out with learning the basics Edit: Try learning to go backwards even if you only at the beginning level. itll keep things more fun if you have others riding with you

As someone who has been skating almost daily for the past 5 years, I recommend to always wear protective gear. As a beginner: - You're very likely to fall backwards, potentially hitting elbows or whip-plashing your head against the concrete. Always wear a helmet and elbow protection. - You're very likely to fall forwards, potentially hitting you wrists and knees against the concrete. Always wear wrist and knee protection. As an intermediate: - You're starting to go faster and do more tricks, don't become overconfident and wear that protection When reaching advanced: - You're going even faster, doing even bigger tricks, buy some "g form" shirt and pants to protect shoulders and hips. Wish I knew "g form" existed, before I broke my collarbone 2 years ago. Had to replace my flattened helmet, but no head wound.

First time I've seen a video from this channel, great content by the way. I don't know if you ever do any skateboarding, but the principle for powersliding on a skateboard is very similar with the whole aspect of keeping the weight off of the sliding wheels, except instead of controlling the direction of your other foot you're controlling the balance. Both definitely require a lot of fine tuning with the main foot, but as a skateboarder the one with the rollerblades certainly looks more tricky to me

Oh haha, I am from Spain and we learnt the vocabulary of this in my English class. I already knew "roller baldes" and "roller skates" words. It's strange that the poeple who speak in English don't know it.
