📈 Indonesia has become the shining star of Southeast Asia, a rapidly industrializing economy that continues to defy expectations. With an average growth rate of 5%, it's solidifying its position as an 'upper-middle-income country.' 🌍 Positioned strategically between India and China, Indonesia enjoys the perks of being a hub for trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region. Boasting the world's fourth-largest population, it not only provides a massive domestic market but also possesses a youthful and dynamic workforce. So, what's the secret sauce behind this success, and how does Indonesia plan to elevate itself to high-income status by 2045? 🚀 And, more importantly, why does Indonesia economy matter?🤔 #IndonesiaEconomy #EconomicGrowth #Indonesia #HighIncomeCountry

Exactly. More reason why ASEAN should start building our very own industries that could rival EU's racist economic colonialism. Copy EU and US inventions but make those inventions 5x to 10x better. China been doing that but didn't make those inventions better, reason why the world called them "copycats". ASEAN however, should start making those inventions better so we're able to avoid being labelled as such.

Malaysia 🇲🇾 is the greatest country in the world. Malaysia is the smartest country in the world because we are fluent in English and our IQ is higher than the IQ of Indon(esia), which is equivalent to the IQ of a gorilla. Malaysia's HDI is also the highest in the world (based on a survey conducted by the Malaysian government). Malaysia is the strongest country in the world because we have sent our soldiers to various places in the world. Malaysia also became independent because of the greatness of the Malay soldiers, who succeeded in defeating the British soldiers on the battlefield. Apart from that, Malaysia also has the strongest military alliance in the world, the FPDA, which consists of Malaysia, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Malaysia is the richest country in the world because everyone from various countries in the world (even Americans and British) looks for jobs and works here. Meanwhile, not a single Malaysian works abroad. According to economists in Malaysia, Malaysia should be a member of the G20, not Indon(esia). Malaysia is the friendliest country in the world because everyone will treat you like family, but illegal immigrants or unauthorized foreign workers who come to Malaysia always take advantage of our hospitality for their benefit. Malaysia is the safest country in the world because the crime rate in Malaysia is the lowest in the world, and that is because the Malaysian police are the greatest police in the whole world. No drugs enter Malaysia or leave Malaysia. Apart from that, Malaysia is also safe from natural disasters such as tsunamis, earthquakes, and tornadoes. Malaysia is heaven on earth. Malaysia is the cleanest country in the world because Malaysians don't want to live in a dirty place like Indon(esia), which is like a pigsty. Japan and Switzerland also learned about city or village cleanliness from Malaysia. Malaysia is a country with the most beautiful places in the world. People from all over the world always choose Malaysia to visit. On KZread, you can find many videos of foreign tourists coming to Malaysia and admiring the beauty of Malaysia. Malaysia has Langkawi, an island more beautiful than Bali and Hawaii. Malaysia is a country with the most delicious food in the world. Malaysia has authentic foods that are often stolen and claimed by Indon(esia), such as Rendang, Sate, Cendol, Bak Kut Teh, Roti Canai, Kuih Lapis, and others. Malaysia is a country with the most amazing cultures in the world. Malaysia has original cultures that are often stolen and claimed by Indon(esia), such as Keris, Batik, Shadow Puppetry, Pencak Silat, Songket, Kuda Kepang, Barongan, Pendet Dance, and others. Malaysia is a country with the most talented people in the world. Malaysia has the best music and film industries in the world. Our music and films are liked by neighboring countries such as Indonesia and Thailand. Michelle Yeoh is a Malaysian actress who makes all countries in Asia jealous because she is the first Asian to win the Oscars. Malaysia is a country with a national language spoken by many people: Bahasa Melayu. Nearly three hundred million people speak this language, starting from Malaysia itself, Indon(esia), Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, the Philippines, Timor Leste, some people in Thailand, some people in Sri Lanka, some people in Madagascar, some people in Vietnam, some people in Cambodia, some people in the Netherlands, and some people in Suriname. The Malaysian Malays are the inventors of the language. Malaysia is a country with the most peaceful official religion in the world: Islam. All Muslims in Malaysia love peace, and not a single Malaysian has ever been involved in terrorism. Malaysia is the most democratic country in the world. The Malaysian constitution places "bumiputera" in first place, in contrast to the United States, which places "indians" in last place. The Malaysian Constitution respects the existence of immigrants, most of whom come from China and India, but their level is not higher than that of Malays, who are native Malaysians. Malaysia is a country led by a superior race: the Malay race. The Malay race is the greatest and largest in the entire world, spreading from Malaysia to Madagascar and Suriname. The Malay race is also the oldest race, even older than the Arab race. The Malay race is a superior race. Malaysia is the greatest country in the world. Malaysia is the best country in the world. Malaysia is God's only masterpiece.

Indonesia played it safe really well and kinda played it smart too. During the Cold War era, Indonesia made the most out of the rivalry between the Soviets and Americans, benefiting and getting help from both sides. Now, in this era, Indonesia is doing it again by capitalizing on the competition between China and America. That's the political scene in Indonesia for you!

  • @dylreesYT

I've personally witness it's huge consumer market, but that's worth noting it's highly focussed on services. Which means that if it does attract foreign investment, they will need robust trade relationships within the next 10 years. While yes they banned exports of raw materials to force more value-adding industries (genius), this too needs to be accompanied other parts of the supply chain or they won't escape the middle-income trap. Their lack of robust trade deregulations and the aforementioned point on consumer spending being so connected to services, is why they lack FDI. While they need investment in infrastructure that they absolutely need and are doing- it MUST be accompanied by more education investment. As I have again witnessed, this video did NOT emphasis the HUGE CORRUPTION issue in Indonesia. This has a huge chance of being their downfall. Remaining democratic, although they aren't the most democratic country but they are doing a reasonable job (I've high respect for their president), while fighting corruption is something I'm very interested to learn of any country doing. Indonesia's potential is huge, capable of overtaking western European countries nominally by 2060 easily. But the challenges the [corrupt] political class face is huge and shouldn't be understated. I informally interviewed locals on their habits and their economy and country- purely because it's a passion of mine to learn about economics. So the source of this opinion is largely a mix of internet materials and "trust me bro" vibes but I do trust what I've learned first hand. This video covers it a lot, but it's too upbeat about potential rather than adding in truly pragmatic comments about their limitations in the current state. I do hope they are able to remove corruption without becoming authoritarian because I must believe it's possible for the good of mankind.

Brilliant. Thank you for pointing this out. The huge problem we face is, indeed, Corruption, with the extension of Conflict of Interest and Ethical Codes in a professional setting. Integrity is something that many Indonesians lack, and it adds to the communistic nature of our people, allowing corruption to prevail in Indonesian society. At some point, I genuinely believe that while Indonesia will enjoy its economic growth, our corruption perception index will remain stagnant. Or worse, going to a decline. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if the Indonesian economic growth projection isn't gonna be as high as its prediction thanks to the rampant Corruption running in this country, lol smh

I agree, but I have to add my five cents. Corruption is present in every country. Even in the most developed. Wich citizens like to blame developing countries as very corrupt. Of course, it's easier to do reforms in a 2 mil. community, then in 200 million. And the only sustainable way to eliminate corruption, from my perspective, is education.

I think a significant factor contributing to the corruption is the byzantine bureaucracy--it's not easy to see what needs to be done or finished when you're trying to achieve something. I've been in Indonesia for a notable amount of time, and even locals curse how Kafkaesque the bureaucracy could be. It's getting better, the digitization of various bureaucratic processes mentioned in the video did happen, but it has to be more thorough when it comes to ease of doing business. Otherwise, it will remain as one of the obstacles of foreign direct investment.

Even most of people know nothing about much older ancient modern civilization here in Indonesia before mega eruption of Toba supervolcano of Sumatra 75,000 years ago. Including 25,000 years old Gunung Padang pyramid in Indonesia. Hindu isn't from India either. Original Hindu is Indonesia not in India. Hindu in India and in Bali are totally different Indus, Indo, Hindia, Hindu = Indus Islands = Indo Nesos = Indonesia. The same with Astrology came from Indonesia not by the Greeks, Egyptians nor Aramaic/Arabs/Jews. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are just frauds branches of modified Hinduism in India. Real Hindu came from Indonesia not India. Hindu, Hindia, Indus, Indo, etc = Indo Nesos, Indus islands, Indonesia over 17000 islands, exactly on the center of the equator line, the center of all civilization, all Indo around the world came from here especially because of eruption of Toba supervolcano Sumatra 75000 years ago bigger than Yellowstone USA, resulted today world's largest volcanic lake Toba Sumatra.

But if we look at many other aspects, I see that there are still many problems holding Indonesia back, the biggest being the issue of religion and the influence of It's culture, more specifically Islam, that makes Indonesia inaccessible to issues like fashion or other more Western aspects. Although the young population is still quite large, quality is still better than quantity. Vietnam and Thailand are still following very closely and especially Vietnam is making great strides in development. Still not sure who will become the next tiger but still happy to see all countries develop together
