Yes, The truck drivers, taxi driver and bus driver are aware of this things hence whenever i give pass light to them they switch to lower beams but same i try with passenger cars from every segment 95% of them just continues to drive with high beams . This is why i avoid to drive in night on highways. Indian government should pass a strict law on this.

Car drivers (usually old generation who dont have knowledge or young generation who is lazy does this) Truck drivers i agree coz driving heavy load vehicles during night is tough as the street lights aren't available but they should also drive more responsibly while doing this

I think it should become more harder to get the driving license until the aspirant has understood everything properly about the driving rules. You could use screens (which are illegal by themselves) on your rear screen and have some level of protection, but the constant flashes make driving impossible. We are a nation of IDIOTS.

I am glad that you took up this issue as it is not talked about but it’s like an epidemic across India. I can think of one more reason why would people use high beams on state highways or poorly lit roads - in India there can be vehicles (like bullock carts, tractors, bicycles) on the road without any taillight/reflector which makes them difficult to spot. Also, around the world you’d find small or rural roads that are not lit at all but drivers are sensitive to other road users as they would lower their lights when they spot someone coming on such roads. Authorities need to do more when handing out licences without testing properly the knowledge of highway code and people need to be less selfish and think of other road users.

  • @punit6253

@Phoenix Bit Yes that could be a solution but there are some issues regarding that... 1. Many luxury cars do come with automatic headlight adjustment but that technology is expensive for now and an average family cars which are sold in an extremely competitive and price sensitive markets like india may increase the price significantly, which no automotive industry will be keen to do so. Also please note that i am taking about the easy fix which would hardly take few extra bucks and the fix would not require any sort of wiring and power management changes. 2. In my openion automatic switching from high beam to low beam can distract driver which may lead to panick situation. 3. A low beam can easily lit upto 200 feet of the road ahead therefore in city traffic a low beam is sufficient. Also i want to add that there could be many ways to fix any problem so nobody is totally correct or totally wrong it's just what kind of resource are available in that situation and how we use them..

The technology which will becoming life saver isnt it worth to pay some money. 2. what distraction? Once you get familiar with it. It will be energy saver. Obviously it will provide less fatigue. Just like other features made in vehicle takes time to adapt. 3. In city traffic its ok but what about outside city or highways. They provide high or low beam for some reason. Only low beam will also leads to accident in some scenarios. 200 feet is good but not enough at high speed or on highways. In some cases you use upper beam for turning, passing, giving signs to others to change lane etc. So it will leads to drive a car by approximation & eventually it will become reason for accidents. Same problem just to save some money! isnt it brainless.

Well stated. A hazard faced by Indian drivers nowadays. At 9:35, when you were talking about Toyota's automatic adjustment to low beam after detecting an oncoming car, I was thinking it will further create problems for those particular Toyota car owners as they will have to bear the dazzle of the upcoming high-beam car without having any ability to adjust their cars' beam. First, a law should be enforced to make this technology all-pervasive, then only this nice technology will bear results.

  • @RAVIKIRAN24367

Similar automatic tech. is being used in XUV700. Although it is automated but there's provision to switch to manual mode. when switched to automatic mode headlight will stay low till you reach perticular speed or if there is a car near by forward. after that it will automatically switch to high beam +it boosts intensity x5 on crossing speed of 80kmph. it also has technology like if theres a oncoming vehicle on right lane, it'll automatically dip only right light and vice versa.

@@MrJabez123 Agreed completely. This comes under common sense. But, unfortunately, that ethical part is not present on road nowadays. That's why "what comes under common sense" needs to be enforced. A very few people drive their cars with low beam. And, also few people turn their headlights to low beam if you make them notice that their high beam is causing problem to your eyesight. Rest of the hooligans either imitate your light-blink (light-horn) or don't use dipper at all, just to show that they don't take commands, come what may.

One advice for riders riding a bike on the highway at night is to follow a large vehicle that is moving at a good speed and has its backlight on when the brakes are applied. It will be beneficial that you will be covered from vehicles with high beam light coming from ahead and there will be less chance of collision with anything.

Rightly pointed out. But even in some of our cities, let alone highways, there are no streetlights. And with cycles, pedaled rickshaws, tractors without tail lights, trucks with tmt bars protruding out plying on highways, and pedestrians crossing highways just about anywhere, it becomes difficult to spot them in your lane after sunset without highbeam. No one wants to use highbeam. But one has to use highbeams to prevent colliding with another vehicle / individual.

Many vehicle manufacturers and drivers are not aware of the fact that how their horns can actually make a person deaf permanently. 2. Driving habits of Indian Auto-rickshaw Drivers. Most of the drivers hate them and these Auto-rickshaw drivers never accept their own mistakes and will blame you for their deeds. 3. Bad roads. No further stress on this. The Indian government is busy building metros and monorails in the country but they are forgetting about the conditions of our Indian roads. I can actually go on and on, but these are the points on which most of us Indians would agree upon. And I must say it again, an actually good video on a very important topic 😇😇

Excellent video bhai High beams ke sath hi logo ka obsession jo hazard lights ya blinkers ke sath wo bhi bhot badte jara hai. R15 aur ktm ke chaprio ko blinkers chalti gadi mein on karke ghumne mein alag hi maza aati hai. Blinkers ka actual use bhi inn gadho ko samjhane ki bohot zarurat hai.

The worst I suffer during nights is from people behind me who use high beam and that reflects through my front mirror back into my eyes. Its unfortunate people like those dont get challan. Auto dimming mirrors should also become common.
