There are many reasons why discrimination rises. To understand the full picture here you need deep knowledge of Georgian history and politics as well. Georgian perspective of xenophobia is completely different than in western Europe or Americas and it actually touches the fear of extinction as a nation. First of all, Indians being loud is least "disturbing" for Georgians as I see it. I have even not thought about that until you mentioned just now. Mostly Georgians complain about Indians being dirty, they don't clean up space as the girl mentions and also throw their garbage in the streets or something. For the hosts cleaning is the biggest problem, when Indians leave a house, they leave the space in so much mess that hosts prefer not to rent them at all. Another issue is the number of residents. Most of the times, 2 or 3 people would visit a host and try to rent but then like 10 people live in the house, it is unacceptable for Georgian hosts. Now about xenophobia... historically Georgia has bad examples of letting foreigners in big numbers in to live. Also, for centuries we have fought every big empire you can think of that had any connection with west Asia so in general, Georgians look everyone with watchful eyes. Especially from Asia and from Asians we have history of foreigners coming, settling and replacing Georgians hence taking land from the country. Even today we have issue with 2 breakaway separatist regions and it's generally considered that one of them rebelling at least, South Ossetia is caused by Ossetian migrations in 19-20th centuries. In 90's and early 2000's when you would see an Indian, it was something new and unexpected for a regular Georgian who would only see Indians in Bollywood movies and they saw it as something exotic. However, as the numbers grew, there was some sort of a switch in minds of Georgians and they started to think protective. One advice I would give everyone is to learn the language. I know it is difficult as hell but still. It will always please a Georgian to speak the language when you're a foreigner. Considering the fact that many local minorities don't speak the language and they speak Russian to communicate (yeah, Soviet past...) it affects more than usual to Georgians when they hear "outsiders" speaking Georgian. Actually, as I've experienced, more Indians speak the language proportionally than other foreigners so keep it up, even put more effort in it. Most of the students come here to study medicine which takes 6 years so it's enough time to master casual speech at least.

I understand why there is growing anti-Indian sentiment in Georgia. It is because there is growing xenophobia against ALL foreigners of color there now. I am black American and I lived in Georgia from 2006 to 2009. On subsequent annual trips back there, I have seen the number of foreigners of color from the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, multiply. This, coupled with the fact that many educated and middle class Georgians have moved abroad means that Tbilisi has seen an influx of poorly educated villagers moving there along with the foreigners of color who are often doing well economically. This causes the new tensions spoken about in the video.

Indians must make a serious effort to adjust the way Georgians live and earn a good name for themselves and the country. What is mentioned here is true as that is what Indians end up creating in any country they go to. They live many people in one small area, speak loudly, do not say sorry or thank you to the waiter, follow traffic rules, learn to throw garbage in garbage disposal, treat their host countrymen with respect, etc. Etc.
