@@SurajMaskiRana9646 Conversion rate doesn't doesn't determine value. Japan has a really low conversion rate but still a very valuable currency. Similarly, Nepali currency is weaker than Bhutanese but still more valuable with a higher demand. Without a doubt, pegging with INR has kept NPR in check and stopped Nepal from becoming the next Sri Lanka with an economic crisis. But comparing Nepal and Bhutan is absurd!

I’m European and would also like to learn and understand more of what’s happening between Nepal / India. I don’t speak hindi or nepali, but will soon learn Sanskrit. However, I know I still won’t be able to follow these videos without subtitles. Some of the best information is found from the closest sources, the people themselves, not media necessarily. But for this, it’d be useful if more nepali channels would offer subtitles when they can. Some hindi speaking channels are more accustomed to this - however, my knowledge will then be primarily based on these resources and not the nepali ones.

I thought English subtitles will enable people all over the world to watch his videos adding extra revenue in his pocket as well as getting more subs and views from people whom he can't reach with Nepalese as a medium of instruction in the video

Bottom line is our economy is saved we are not facing situations like Zimbabwe and Lebanon only because our rupees is pegged to Indian rupees. Trade in one place but our economy is surviving thanks to them. 😢😅

They day nepal currency peg is removed ferm IC, the currency value of Nepal will go down. The dollar that is at around 130 will move above 200 and everything in Nepal will be expensive.

@@bpnk5237 will we be able to maintain the peg with dollar? we have sufficient amount of INR with us because of tourism and FDI with India, which is not the case with USA, we donot have a big USD reserve, It will make very hard to maintain the peg. Kuwait has pegged its currency with USD and the have a good economy because of oil export still they find it hard to maintain its peg.

@@bpnk5237 you do not do it one way. Look at the conditions for pegging and both parties need to agree. Pegging with dollar in the current Nepal economics, will also hit only Nepal. Had it been so easy, every countey in the world would have pegged

I do not agree with later analysis. Devaluation of nepal currency will only help if nepal has production, else it backfires. Just because Nepal hates India, taking such decision will bankrupt Nepal only.

Becoz of India, Nepali currency is saved. If India had not pegged the currency 1:1.6, Nepali currency would sell 1INR = 10NPR. Look at Bangladesh, Pakistan, SLanka. They are much much bigger markets than Nepal in all terms. So pegging with INR has saved NPR. Even after getting this education each and every nepali is dying to go one country or another. 1 crore are in India, those with some degree - Australia, Canada, US. Those with mediocre education - SKorea, Europe, etc. Those with little education - Dubai, Qatar, Middle East. Hardly 30% nepali population stays in Nepal and they are all busy on TikTok. Nepal is the labor supplier of the world, and now has become a TikTok Nation.

Had it not been pegged 1 dollar would be around more than 250 nrs. There was an article 3-4 yrs back. Now the condition is worst. If anything our economy has been stabilized due to it. Sure dependence of india is increased but we are beggars. Beggars can't be choosers.
