I'm beginning to lean towards the idea of cheap internet in India being a mistake, degenerate content is now spread as far as it has ever been and it's in the wrong hands, sure it might be "dark humor" for some but as Mohak said, some people take fictional movies and such behaviour as something they should be doing in real life, now we'll have a generation of kids being even more insensitive and degenerate than ever before, the entire dark humor shtick is cancer

The whole idea of "sigma", "alpha", "you don't understand dark humour" etc is illiterate mentality of our teens. It's very easy to shrug off your ill intentions as "joke" or "humour" nowadays and these teens are further aggravated by these sigma alpha movie edits which makes them feel like they have some elevated status, again reels made by same foolish teens.

Rape is definitely a problem but the biggest problem is how they're treated after being raped. The thought that a woman's life gets completely destroyed after rape is most problematic. It's society's duty to help rape victims adjust in the society and not treat them as outcast.

At 13 i was harassed by an auto driver who used to pick me up from my school. I came to home and cried and told everything to my parents. They told me not to tell this thing to anyone and complained in my school. My parents put unbelievable restrictions on me after that incident. I hate them for doing this to me. I felt like i was the wrong person in the situation but i don't know how because i was wearing full clothes neither i was flirting. As i grew i developed many fears within myself. Now, i talk about that incident to many people especially to young girls and all my friends. I came to know that its such a small thing which happened to many girls and they arent even able to voice it out. Public places are actually not safe for women. I just dont know if at any point of time women would feel safe on this planet

Don't blame your parents, they know the society and people better than you, If they did strict action against auto driver, then it could have create huge problem in future like your marriage, or may be he would try to take revenge because they have nothing to lose. Edit:- Dear Replies! I think you didn't understand my point. I am not saying that her parents are right, but they know that our society and laws and police, are worst in India. Many acid attacks happened just because of revenge, and still police couldn't catch them. Different parents have different thinking but everyone fears for their childrens life. They don't want their daughters to have have problems in future.

Every rape got these layers behind it. 1. Objectification of women in our movies 2. The common role our actresses are offered is to support a man emotionally or to earn his love as her prime goal 3. The iniquitous 'item songs' 4. Men never told to not stare at a woman rather women are told to dress properly 5. Lack of proper sex education 6. Prostitution and pornography 7. Patriarchy causing men to feel superior 8. Alcohol, drugs As long as we don't address all of these collectively, we'll only erupt now and then and won't find a solution.

2 is slightly wrong. In most Bollywood movies it’s the man pursuing the woman and wearing her out or “winning her over” through harassment that’s passed off as romantic and ends in song and dance. But yes, she is seen mostly as an object and an emotional support “sidekick.” The message is if it’s a no, keep trying. In real life, if someone tries that they quickly find out they would not win over the woman. So she is abused, assaulted, raped, and has revenge crimes committed against her like acid attacks, murder, etc. The rest of the points are very true. Lack of sex education and objectification of women that’s supported by media and their peers is a huge thing. As usual, women are told to cover up or have curfew and even in hostels, bars on girls’ hostel window and strict 9 pm curfew usually. Men still rule the world in many places, and women have always had to adjust to it to try to protect themselves.

10:00 49 yr old hits hard because I was also sexually abused by my primary caretaker when I was 2 or 3 year old for years. I don't get how can you even see a child as sexually arousing. Abuse wasn't just rape, he put semen, saliva, grinded nails into my food and a lot more. My parents consoled me but shut me down saying I should never tell this to anyone. Even if I confided to my close ones, I was told to be either quiet or reminded that there were people in worse conditions than me. For me that place was always about running away from it. So I got scholarship abroad and ran away from everything. Later I tried to report it but was labelled insane because there was no evidence. He's given me scars I'll never forget but I think my outcome was one of the more happier ones, a lot of young girls aren't that fortunate.

I was saying that men and women should be treated equally in our society so that they do not feel shy and lack of confidence in sharing something in front of the opposite gender or asking for help when needed. This debate continued until my teacher said, "पत्नी का ये मजाल कि बो अपने पति को आंख उठा कर देख ले." Then I realized that I am wasting my time. I've found that misogynists often struggle to change, and if they do, it's usually thanks to someone who helped them along the way. However, personally, I wouldn't make such efforts because I believe the risk of getting hurt outweighs any potential benefits. Confronting such individuals, regardless of their gender, could result in harm to oneself. That's why I always advise people, especially children, to let go and stay away from them, as they're also likely to commit other crimes. So I hope you are safe and stay safe 😊

I dont care if people are pissed over the fact that the 'name' of india is getting ruined because of the publicization of such rape cases. But we have to fix our problems first! We cant avoid or dismiss the situation by saying that it defames india, this is the height of carelessness. Dont care about the foreign nations or their views, the only thing that matters is the safety for all who venture into our homeland, whether it be out sister or some foreigner. We must stand and fight

Please dont drink after 6pm...A few women tend to have nightshifts , or perhaps her father/brother/sister is at the hospital and she must go there all alone/Perhaps she went out in the dark for some other reasons , if you are drunk and out of your mind you might end up hearting her. Please dont drink once the daylight is gone Please show off your physical strength by protecting your sisters , not by harassing them...If you protect a woman you become a god for her , otherwise you are simply the cruel product of Kali , a vison of the devil himself. I used to study at Aakash coaching centre when I was 14 years old. One day I was relentlessly harrassed by the security guards, who kept laughing at me, telling me to come to them, making disgusting sexual comments about my body and especially my legs. I was dressed from head to toe in very modest clothing (not that it matters). I told my father when I went home and he just shrugged and told me "hota hai". I dropped out from the centre the next year because I felt so ashamed and scared. The people who were meant to be protecting me completely failed me.

If you get the courage to report, you have no guarantee of getting justice, and what is your security when your assailant is or are walking freely on the street? You risk being raped a murdered gruesomely, poured acid on your face and the rest of your family being targeted. This is worst than we think. The culture itself betrays the sanctity of aa woman, reduced her status from a daughter to liability. Exploitation of babygirl by community in India cannot be compared to anywhere in the world.

And ive seen countless videos of a girl talking about a certain topic and the immature men in the comment section talking about her cleavage, when it has no relation to the video at all. They think theyre being funny but theyre just proving that they are porn addicted and in reality, theyre pathetic. Not only that, even when a girl was wearing a normal shirt, those men still talked about how heavy chested she was. We are taught that natural things are unnatural. True. In winter I wear full clothes and 2-3 layers of clothing and sometimes a beanie to cover my head/ears, only my face is uncovered and yet some perverts (even uncles) are staring with lusty eyes. I mean what now, what else to do? In summer to not get tan I wear full cotton clothes, socks, gloves and all and cover my face with dupatta, only my eyes are shown in this attire, still, I was harassed. I really don't understand the logic of victim blaming.

Even yesterday 23 March 2024, two Muslim girls were assaulted and put Holi color on their faces. Point is not Hindu Muslim here but why a random stranger woman is targeted? I know Hindu women also face such attacks and that too without any reason. It is all because rapists or molesters have no fear of anyone whether it be God or Police, parents, society, or even government. How can we make India a place where a woman can be respected. (collar reaches upto the chin and first button is on the neck) and you cannot wax or shave your arms. separate seating rows inside a classroom for boys and girls and we are not allowed to sit with each other. no group project will involve both boys and girls together and you will have to find a same gender person to team up with. i could go on and on forever.

all KVs were the same, the teachers would shame the girls, side with the boys; even the female teachers, which was so sad and disappointing. At that young age, you expect a level of maturity, understanding and possibly any form of mentorship but they were all bullies. I remember talking to a boy in my class about some movie that him and I liked after class(the classes were over and some students were leaving) and we were sitting on different benches too but my Hindi teacher still got mad and made such a big deal about it. I didn't say much but I didn't apologize to her either about anything. The next day, the PT Sir, with whom I had never talked to me in my entire life, came up to me and told me to apologize to her. It just seem so disgusting to imagine that she might have been so pissed that she bitched about it probably in the teacher's room, to a point that another teacher told me to apologize to her. I realized her ego was way too much fragile to be shattered by a 14 year old girl.

my school was not like this, i spent my entire school sitting between 2 girls (1-12th), and we shared everything, from food to all everyday crap and all dirty sexual talks. when we were in final year, it was really disheartening to us when school introduced new dress code, changing from shirt+skirts to salwar-suits for girls of 10-12th, we knew why its being done, and we used to laugh at school for posting such stupid actions to stop easy-sex in school premises. we didnt had sex with each other, but we saw others and knew secret places in school where elder kids used to go for the fun. it was so weird for me to see them in that dress and they complain how suffocated they felt in their legs and breast areas. we used to joke around, if we were in Hawai, we would just stay naked all the time, no clothing boundation like this school, lol. as far as i know, now the school has implemented this dress code to younger girls as well, this explains the mentality of older gen people, new policies are pushing genders further apart. i feel sorry for the kids in my previous school, getting crushed by new patriarchy.

Sadly even the victims of rape seem to accuse themselves, not the criminal, bcz so many comments are mentioning what clothes they wear when it does not matter bcz a person should be able to even walk naked (technically, like, know what I mean I guess) and not be targeted and raped. The sane people would help her to cover, but the filth would use it as an excuse to rape her, going naked does not mean the person want it and many who are VERY much covered also get raped. And like you said infants (EEWWWWW), veryyy horrific, but do not just list the female infants bcz it is OFTEN with males too. So never forget that males are victims too, males need help too, males should not be harrassed either soo.

Being a indian with an elder sister, I should say that school education is also important. Me having a sister had to hear a lot of abuse and vulgar comments from my classmates throughout my childhood and especially because I was very weak and soft. The guys who are bully and strong won't hear such things from others because others are afraid but the weak ones like me had to bear it for almost 8 years straight.

After watching this video I realized how differently my parents raised me. I'm also a victim of sexual harassment and it happened in a second that I was unable to voice it out. My dad was there with me when it happened. He hit the guy with his helmet and then others followed suit beating the guy up. Through out the ride home I was conflicted about what happened. It felt like a lapse of memory and judgement. My father complained how I didn't even shout or say anything. My mom sat with me and told me to not be afraid to voice it out, basically said Fuck Society and do what you think is right at that moment. Sure, my parents are very conservative but they taught me the right thing to do. I realized how important sexual education is throughout the years and how its lacking in India and how shrewd believes are holding people by leashes. I decided to talk openly to my little brother. I tell him how much it hurts to have periods or what happens during that, I told him how hard it is to walk in broad daylight but still feel like a prey to men as they stare at me even though I'm not wearing revealing clothes. My brother too believed that girls shouldn't be lewd before but now his views are changing. My mom would scold me for talking these things to a child, a boy at that but I shrug her off because he needs to learn these and to act on it. We can't wait for our parents or society to change , I believe we need to implement on it by our own even though u receive backlashes. Freedom of speech includes talking about sexual violence too and if we dont it causes major trauma. Teach your brothers. I'm not saying this as a feminist or shit, I just wanted to tell that watching documentaries and commenting about change in education, views, blah blah blah wont be changing anything. YOU NEED TO START FROM SOMETHING WITHIN THE GRASP.

The brilliant Cambridge economist Joan Robinson visited India several times from the 1960s to the 1980s, and she had this to say: “Whatever you can say about India, the opposite is also true.” As we look at the Indian economy 75 years after Independence, this still rings true.

Excellent video, well explained, and gently explained, thank you! Share widely, people! India still has legal marital rape, which is horrific. Rape within an Indian marriage is very much real and happening and is sickening and disgusting. Indian men think that simply a paper, i.e., marriage certificate, grants them the right to pounce on a woman whenever and wherever HE feels like. The woman does not matter, she is a non-living object with no feelings. She will not feel pain. Her body parts will not be injured. Consent is not needed. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE ASAP.
