I am from Assam, where tea was first discovered in India in 1823. My state alone produces 55% of India's total tea and 18% of global tea production, so tea is everything for us!

7:36 jaby - You gave it to china ( opium) Achara - not me personally 🤣🤣 Damn
In India, every religion, every caste, every sect drinks tea and it's called UNITea 🙂
The drug addiction problem was real bad in China. Some people say that China fell behind by 50 years(if not more) because of addiction. It is reflected in their current laws as well because China has amongst the most brutal laws against possession of drugs. A milligram more, just a milligram more than the permitted amount (you will be scrutinised for that as well) will decide whether you're gonna live or die.

Actually and factually tea was discovered in India around this time. It has larger leaves and Chinese tea had smaller leaves. Singpho tribes of Assam used tea way before the British came. It was popularized as a drink by the British. Fun video though.

True! The tea leaves that are found in Assam are genetically different from the ones found in China. But our own people are clueless about our own history and unknowingly spreading wrong info😵

Tea plants in assam were wild and British had no knowledge of them. The tea trade came from China. The first saplings for tea cultivation were brought from China and planted in Darjeeling way before it was begun in Assam, which at that time didn't even exist as a province to begin with.

@@meamanraj calling the people of Assam as “tribal” is similar to calling them uncivilised. The tee plant grew in Assam for sure grew as wild and used as medicine but for sure was not consumed the way the Chinese did and used even though they too use it for medicinal way and they have more than thousand varieties of tee. History writing was a very important job in the Chinese emperors court they had huge records many for sure got distorted for various resources. Therefore when you say to Chinese man that China a 5 thousand years of continuous history they would replace by saying that China has 3 thousand years of written history.

Interesting fact - British did that to the natives in north America too and the natives still hold it against them (they still have a massive addiction problem)

An early credible record of tea drinking dates to the third century AD, in a medical text written by Chinese physician Hua Tuo. It was popularised as a recreational drink during the Chinese Tang dynasty, and tea drinking subsequently spread to other East Asian countries. Portuguese priests and merchants introduced it to Europe during the 16th century. During the 17th century, drinking tea became fashionable among the English, who started to plant tea on a large scale in British India.
I use to drink tea 3-4 times a day but now I only drink one's in the morning. And now my body feels great. Not that it might be bad for health
It feels like 51°C showing(weather is almost 39° or 40°c but feels like it shows you know) in Kolkata India but MAA Chaa Banao is the word that comes after 5pm...even electricity is not there sweating like liters n liters of draining minute by minute but chaa i.e tea is must..
Tea plants ( trees ) were already here in Assam in the wild. We do have our indigenous vareity. Not all were brought from China

Achara is the most sensitive person, let alone sensitive British, who understands deeply how other people feel, and I can never imagine her throwing mean comments at anyone. I think it's time Jaby should realize that passing mean comments to her over n over again, since she's half British, is not funny anymore! It almost got me, how little that made Achara feel, and still she didn't disgrace him over the record.
@SheeK98
Жыл бұрын
Totally agree. I feel like Achara gets bullied for being half British, but Jaby rarely acknowledges the terrible things that the US has done and is continuing to do which are currently harming the world. Achara seems like a very kind person who is also quite apologetic about the crimes her ancestors committed. It's not fair to just keep telling her that she did something when she clearly had no say, she wasn't even alive back then! And first of all she's mixed herself, so she is aware of Asia and the culture. She's also very intuitive and infact there's a lot about being Indian that she just gets because she is very tied to her mother's roots as well. I hope she doesn't take Jaby too seriously. You're doing great Achara, it's always a pleasure seeing you in videos!
It's so funny how jaby says to achara as if she came from the past and she was ordering them 😂🤣

Its true that we indians are addict to chai my parents drink tea on an avg 10 times a day(individually , not sum of what they both drink)and they are really addicted .they will have chai even if its 9 pm when they just return home late from work
When you arrive in 50 seconds Har hindustani ki ek hi raaai Sabsi acchi hai chai
Indian tea is really the best though.... The quality, fragrance, colour, texture and taste is just out of rhis world.... Its grown in the foothills of Himalayas where the best soil is found on the planet!
This show gets its idea from Hasan Minhaj's Patriot Act . Not sure why a lot of people aren't aware of that show. Delivering useful and sometimes overlooked information with a comedic perspective to it is something i feel mainstream news channel should incorporate.

For All Chai loving Indians we must never forget that the first tea cultivators and labourers in Assam where tribal families from Bihar, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Odisha. Who were transported there as indentured workers by the Britishers and continue to live there generations after generations. Tea is the product of the suffering and slavery of our own countrymen and women

Opium is indigenous to india.. The poppy seeds from opium plant is widely used in Indian Cuisine... But because rest of the opium pods can be used to produce opium, you need licence to grow them commercially... Poppy seeds are banned in many countries around the world and that's one of the reason why Indian food tastes good in india but not in overseas..
