Entitled. This is *their* earth. So much so that they’ll complain that locals treat them weird when they don’t fit the customs. We’d probably do a double take if the North Sentinelese flew to our western countries and took a shit on the pavement or ran around with their cock out. Don’t be shocked you’re being looked at on the beach when every woman typically wears more clothing in that destination especially when you’re a tourist.

I am w lone traveller and visited Tanzania 🇹🇿 8 times 5 times Zanzibar in 11 years. Yes, there are vendors on the beach trying to sell things , but they are not aggressive. They ask usually the same thing ; they greet you, they ask where your are from, how many people in your group and if you were interested in what they are selling. So if you don't answer, they don't follow you, some say , have a nice day. If you answer their questions and say you are not interested in what they are selling, they leave you alone . I usually smile and say, SINA PESA- I don't have money and keep walking. Worse are the men at the ferry who want to take your luggage and charge you $10 for walking out if the airport which is just 30-50 meters. They are aggressive and fight amongst themselves . Same is at the bus stations. When you come with this knowledge, you won't be surprised and act accordingly. I have never felt threatened or harassed. I will be back to explore the southern part of the island. 🏝️.

Don't come back
I walked several time on the beach after sunset 7:30 in the evening, sunset at 6:15 in Nungwi and Jambiani alone and no one approached me , people know that you may not feel comfortable to be approached so everyone minds their own business. Some people take the beach to walk home after work . Some flash their phone light to acknowledge you. In Jambiani there is less almost no vendors and beaches are as beautiful as in Nungwi. So if the vendors are not your thing , Jambiani is a better option! After staying in nungwi I came to Jambiani for pure relaxant before going back home , the first glance on the beach without people I thought, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?! I almost wished the vendors were there . I filled my time with scuba diving, cave tubing, long walks on the beach with a new friend I met on the beach . 😊
My ancestors are from Zanzibar !!! I really want to go to Zanzibar, but it is too expensive for me
Typical mentality. It's okay for me to do it but I'm annoyed by others doing it. Me me me!
You didn’t convince me not to go but the comment section did.
"Zanzibar is beautiful, beaches are incredible, food is delicious, vibes are great and palm trees are very high and beautiful" And so... what's the complaint again? That it has gotten "extremely touristy"? What does that even supposed to mean - unless you're a local? And to say "it's not the best place for women traveling alone because if you wanna go for a walk at the beach and mind your own business without attracting any attention, it's basically Mission Impossible". Uhm, it's a beach...? Or are you trying to imply something else? Lol, why not step outside the gates of luxury & all in-inclusive and explore local life and culture, or just continue to Hawaii or Bali... because believe me, as locals, we don't need your "second chance". Thanks for visiting and good luck.

@@Skillex128I just came back from my vacation in Zanzibar with my family, the “attention” the girl in the video is complaining about is from beach boys trying to sell shoes, excursions, and other things. Being an italian, the italian beaches are like this, but much worse, so I’m used to loud and crowded beaches, and in Zanzibar you will find exactly the opposite of this. It’s true, you will get approached, that doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing. Most of the time it’s friendly people that will leave you alone if they see you’re not interested. Oh! There’s masai walking on the beaches too, they will approach and try to talk to you, if you’re not in the mood to chat they’ll just go away. The difference between Tanzania and Zanzibar is that Zanzibar is a Muslim island so yeah it’s gonna be hard to not attract attention when walking in a bikini because the locals don’t respect that. I hope Zanzibar does not become like Hawaii or Puerto Rico. That would be a catastrophe
Oh, I fully understand, some of the Mozambique that I loved to go to as a child are absolutely awefull now. Tourism can go to far.
She is right though. She didn't complain about tourists themselves, she complained about the island not being ready to host that many tourists. Either reduce the number of tourists, either improve the island's tourists handling.
I was just there and she is not wrong about the hawkers. They are relentless and don’t leave you alone. As a woman, if alone, even if you decline whatever they are selling, they will insist on keeping you “company”. I am not white and I was dressed extremely modestly.
Your the tourist remember 😂
As an amerikan... there's places in the US so touristy it's disgusting.. like Vegas. Virginia City Nevada. Tahoe. Palm Springs. Myrtle beach. So many nice places been destroyed by insane avariciousness and bad environmental exploitation. Many blessings of safe journeys and save your money for that trip to Mars.
Tourist can’t complain about tourist. It’s not to travel to places where high tourism exist. Like are ya slow?

I hated Zanzibar! Just left 2 days ago and now I’m on the coast near Dar, which is much more peaceful. The beach is beautiful, but the water isn’t clear and the amount of trash is overwhelming. Not that the water is very clear in Zanzibar either. It’s bright green but very cloudy and filled with seaweed and sea urchins in most places. The water is MUCH clearer in the Mediterranean. I’d recommend Tanzania for more of a cultural experience or safaris than beach destination. The beaches aren’t great.

She wanted to be a star. She went there thinking that because she was a white woman from Europe, the natives would worship her. She has watched the racist Tarzan movies and imbibed the nonsense in which Jane is the queen of the natives. The real living natives did not reach out to her in Dar Es Salaam, and so she went to the natives, and started riding in the rickety public transport which only the poor Tanzanians ride. Still the natives ignored her. So she started walking the streets, the markets and the backroads, seeking the adulation. When none came her way, she crossed over to Zanzibar bitter and angry. The people in Zanzibar left her alone. As black people, the white people in her country practise racial discrimination against us. There is a video on KZread ranking the countries that are the most hostile to foreigners in Europe, and surprisingly, the northern European ones, including hers, Poland, rank the highest on the list. The southern European countries, where they routinely call African players on their own teams monkeys, are apparently less racist than the Germans, Swedens, Norways, Denmarks etc of this world. Yet we do not go around making whiny videos about their countries
