Why I Switched to Vermeer, New York Edition | Vermeer Agriculture Equipment
Ғылым және технология
Phil Johnson has tried all sorts of mowers. But none offered the increased productivity (18-ft cutting width), narrow transport (8.5 ft), improved flexibility and ground contouring (split cutter bar), and lower horsepower requirements (95 hp compared to 140 hp on competitive models) of the Vermeer TM1400 trailed mower.
And that’s why Phil Johnson switched to Vermeer.

I am wondering what the dry down is like in alfalfa without conditioning it? if heard that cutting in am with no conditioning the crop will actually have higher sugar levels. Would like to know if guys are seeing this because i would gladly buy one of these without conditioner on it if still drys crop fast being wide and i get better quality.
Why so slow? We used to run a Deere 955 on a 4240 and would go a heck of a lot faster. Yes, shorter mower, but it also ran a conditioner...and the 955 is notorious for drawing a lot of hp. Wider is nice. But if you have to sacrifice a conditioner and speed, where are you coming out ahead?
Are these available with a conditioner?
Awesomeness
I just bought a TM1200, and the short drive shaft that hooks to the tractor's PTO broke after an hour of use. Yes, I was using it the way my dealer told me to. Also, my 95hp 4020 is completely overwhelmed by it. Long and short of it, I doubt a 4240 could really handle a 1400.
