I totally agree with your reasoning. I just got a Surfybear Studio (rack version) and want to add a stereo delay and tremolo. The high end products I wish to purchase only offer pedals. Why would I put 1200$ of effects on the ground? These are jewels to me . A lot of users put them on the desktop pressing down foot switches with their thumbs. Or if they put them on the ground they are constantly bending down for controls 😂 The rack was used for this purpose…controls at arms reach and a foot controller on the ground. The pendulum will come back and in the near future you will see pedal makers starting to offer rack versions of their effects.

I sure hope you are right Patrick! and very well said. I am gigging with a computer setup now running Helix Native bc no one offers what I want yet. A dell micro PC and rackmount audio interface is still only 2U...

@@charlesstratton5335 thanks for your reply. That's a good rig Charles. I toured for 5 years with a Helix. Wonderful device. "What ever works" is my motto
Awesome! Happy Weekend! 🤗❤️✨

Many thanks Juan!!!
Using an FM3/FC6 set up now myself, but was actually considering moving to an Axe-FX III rack rig too. Would love to hear more about how your tone improved when you made the switch over! Thanks!

You could argue that the actual basic guitar tone is the same, but since I can run my Reverb blocks at a higher quality, and I can add more blocks to each preset I don’t have to worry about limitations, it allows me to get exactly what’s in my head more easily.
Racks are so much cleaner. Cable lengths a kept much shorter

They definitely are!!
Why would you ever want to have anything on the floor other than footswitches ?

Some players prefer having totally control and access to things during a show. You shouldn't need to tweak once the first note is played, that's what rehearsal and sound check are for in my opinion
Just traded my FM9 for the Axe FX III. I like it so far. Do you prefer the FC-6 over the FC-12? What do you like about the FC-6 other than the space saving size?

Just fits under my desk better at home!! I don't need any more buttons for what I do so the 6 is perfect.

@@ZackSeifMusic if you have a video on your FC-6 setup I will check it out.
Dude this setup is awesome, I was wondering do you use a power regulator at all? (I mean is it even necessary?)
@ZackSeifMusic

That Furman power strip on the top is a rack mount power conditioner! While it is not the same as a voltage regulator, which I believe is what you are referring to?, I do not need one where I live. However if I was doing a large scale production or touring for a major artist I would definitely put one in my set up just in case.

@@ZackSeifMusic I have a Furman AR-15 II voltage regulator in my studio. They are VERY heavy, and would be a pain to gig with...

I want to sell my Fm3 and get an Axe FX III. I used to gig with a digitech gsp 1101, and I wish Fractal would come out with a 1U unit with short rack depth like digitech's...
Great vid. Is the patch bay going in the front or the back?
@ZackSeifMusic

It went in the front so I could get all my necessary cables without needing to go around the back of the rack.
zack i just want to know how the way configure fractal as a bass cabinet , because im so curious are that possible to set as head cabinet anyway im a bass playe zack thanks mate
@ZackSeifMusic

Hey mate! If you want to use your fractal as a pedalboard and pre-amplifier unit, you need something called a power amplifier. That will allow you to convert the signal from the fractal into something that the power amplifier can power into a bass speaker cabinet for you. Bass you want as much headroom as possible, so I will try to find a 2000 W power amp by Crown, QSC, Anything of that nature

@@ZackSeifMusic so the route is Bass-> Fractal AXE -> Crown (poweramp) -> and Speaker Cabinet , Am i right? Zack Please Create a video for this . because when im asking in group on facebook some people say that only using fractal as Head Amp , and go to directly Cabinet Speaker .. and im feel like a stupid if this hoax . thanks zack im so appriciated
hi zack, is this about the same size as a 100watt head? or is it about the same size as a mesa boogie 2x12 vertical cab?
@ZackSeifMusic

The rack itself is width of a widebody Mesa or so. Wider than a cab but balanced and won't fall.

@@ZackSeifMusic gotcha, i thought it would look around same with as a 2x12horizontal cab or a 4x12. Thanks!
Which power conditioner is that?

The standard Furman M-8X. Tried and true!
axe fx III is 4x the power of the FM3 ;)
