Favorite: I love the fast pace, the costumes, the amazing crews. The actors. Seeing my name on the screen. Getting to live my dream. The fact that everyday is different and every tv show or film is different. Least favourite: Costumes is the lowest paid. My shortest day is 12 hours, the norm is 16 hours plus commute 5-6 days a week. But…I have been doing it for 20 plus years ❤

I hope people start investing more in you. You're the best person out here in fashion. Nobody even comes close to the amount of research and work you put in. Maybe start charging for this! If you got out there you could definitely find a way to make fashion research your main career. You're high quality. Something will work out, but don't give up!

I love the quality of your videos and I already knew how time consuming it is and how long it can take to have enough followers to make a living out of it. I did not know you were a mum of 2 and going to school and working! I cannot imagine how you can do it all!!! I applaud your choice of not accepting to show case all brands that reach out to you as I dislike the fashion youtubers who just present to you an entire collection of a brand or at least several items and pretend creating looks! no if I want a look book of this brand I just go to their website! I understand the allure of making money but this is not what I am looking for! I want to consume less, create more with what I have and get ideas from artistic people like you. Anyway I realize you have to make a choice as we all know: we cannot do it all for long!!!!

Yes I am trying to do it all 😅 It is tough to say no to some brands right from the start, I’m sure many are just like me and don’t have the ability to shop around so even getting something for free is very tempting, I have had hundreds of replica companies reach out so I could film a video about them that I can’t even reply back to them because it’s overwhelming. The competition for KZread fashion channels is very very high! With that said, Maria, I echo most commenters here that you alone provide the most inclusive and comprehensive trend info over any other fashion channel. You are my go to person for not just the latest trends but the best styled put together trends! Your vids are eye candy! I know you are hoping to reach more subscribers by the end of the year, but please don’t be discouraged. I see others with fashion channels on KZread and their subscriptions are not what they wish they were also. It’s a very difficult business this fashion channel business.

Don't quit. I like this channel. I would be interested to hear how to adapt runway trends in the real world outfits and you would be the one to do that well.

Hi Maria! I have discovered you a couple of years ago searching for those fashion trends and I liked a lot your videos. To be honest sometimes it was hard to find them... I guess youtube was not prioritising them on top. I think that some more videos that are more personal, like this one will help your audience to engage more and grow. Also I would like to see some shorter videos, since sometimes it is hard to follow a 40 mins video. I hope you do not quit, but hey-family and health is first, so make the best decision gor yourself ❤

I would be so sad if you quit. Personally, I always have a collection of your videos to watch in my ‘watch later’, but never get round to them because of the length. I don’t know how much that feedback helps, or if others have the same thing, but you put so much into your videos that they are often too long for me to sit down and enjoy. I’m not a fan of very short form content, but videos seem more accessible to me if they are between 10-20 mins. Any longer and I just don’t watch them because I don’t have the time. Personally I also prefer your prediction videos, without other add-ons like the colour theory content. You are the best I’ve come across at pulling out trends from the hundreds of catwalk shows. It’s a huge task and you do it well. ❤

TBH, this was the first time I got to know you on youtube. I didn't know you were a mom. And you argue with your husband like all of us. I like you. Give us more of you as well as your great reviews, presentations, information and encouragement. I also find I like more but shorter videos. Hi 👋🏾 I've been a subbie for a while now and as others have said, I love your channel. I just want to encourage you not to quit. My suggestion would be to split your videos up into parts to put out more shorter (like 20 min) more regularly. And I love how you put out your trend videos early when the shows come out but I also think you should emphasize or reemphasize fall in fall when everyone is searching is for such videos on KZread. Most regular folk don't know that the f\w shows come out in spring \summer. Keep going ❤

I appreciate seeing this side of your channel. I think you make valid points about how fashion content creators arena has changed. I do enjoy your channel/ love the attention to detail and length of your vids/ My biggest gripe and I say this w/ a grain of salt is your commentary on what types of bodies shouldn't wear what, ex: if you have blemishes or marks this trend of satin slip dresses isnt for you/ their are fashion journalist I follow that are able to comment on clothing and remain objective when it comes to who wears what. I am only one person and you do make disclaimers about wearing what you want which i feel is more affirming. If you can do collabs that might create more visibility. I don't believe in pointing out negatives without sharing a potential solution. I respect whatever you decide but I really enjoy your content overall.

I feel that you could make trend forecast presentations to retail buyers and in-house designers for High St. brands. You’re work is scholarly, there ought to be away you can get a $lice of the fashion business pie. Maybe it’s lost on the YT audience but it has value.

Firstly, MM I'm stunned by your backstory, you've achieved so much! I watch fashion and style channels on KZread as light relief from war, economics, politics, climate change and other pressing issues. Therefore I don't devote a lot of time to it, but over the holiday season have got more in depth with it. Your particular focus is very helpful to others and inspiring. I feel bad about calling you out on getting the pronunciation of fashion houses and designers correct. The reason I did this is to help you, because people can be very superficial and it can turn them off, and write you off as unprofessional. So it's about getting some priorities there. I subscribe to over 300 channels and obviously don't engage with all of them, I just feel the need to support where I can. If you can get past certain hurdles (I feel you could be less hesitant in your speech, it generates confidence in you by your viewers and I appreciate English is not your first language, but it's worth it to maybe rehearse and try to get that right) then you will be really able to gather many more viewers. This can happen very rapidly. You do not need to talk the whole time. Try to cut back on the dialogue I think you're putting yourself under a lot of pressure there. Also you may need to reduce the amount of fashion houses and designers you are covering. This may be difficult to do as you clearly love it. But in order to survive the hours involved, something must be cut. Some colours may also need to be cut as another option. I love the graphics they work so well. I would spend more time suggesting how you can update outfits even just verbally at times with reviewing the collections and suggesting combinations from the last few seasons...just suggestions here. Because most people are not throwing their stuff out anymore they're thrifting, up cycling or selling. Or they're adding different combinations. Like with trends sometimes it's just one item, for instance a white bag that's edgy. That will lift all other boats of your existing clothes, for the season, it's like a rising tide. So working out a must-have is also fun and worthwhile. Colour is one thing but there are so many aspects that work. I've noticed a trend away from prints, and doing plains. Also much simpler designs. Telling people which items to put to the back of the wardrobe (or into the attic) is very useful. People want practical content these days as well as the escapism. You can alternate. That kind of frugal focus is great IMO. We are heading into very uncertain times geopolitically and channels like yours can be pivotal. The more authentic and personal you are the more people commit to you. We identify with your struggles. This brings brand loyalty. Also try taking an interest in other content providers and see if you can do something together. Then you get the eyeballs of their subscribers when both of you are interacting and when your channel details aer included you can get a sudden rush of views and subscriptions. You can also do live Q&As and have little projects that you write about. It would also help if you use a first name, it helps with engagement. Also ask more questions for engagement. I'm sure this is going to explode rapidly. You have come so far.! You should be very proud of what you've achieved!

I really enjoy your content. Just a couple of Suggestions KZread is a more personal community then any other social media platform (in my opinion) I personally would love to see when you are break down the runway looks, that you actually incorporate your version of how you would style a particular trend. Also incorporating your favorite makeup looks and fragrance when you are styling looks. Your KZread community doesn't know who Marie is as a person. I had subscribed to you a few years back and ended up unsubscribing (now back subscribed and have been for months) because for months there was no content being posted and becsuse there was no sense of a personal connection back then when I was cleaning up my subscription box it was easy for me to unsubscribe. Short videos 15-30 mins and more frequent videos which would include the runway looks break down, something involving your personal style and/your personality/interest would be the sweet spot. KZread isn't a one size fit all everyone's channels grow at different pace and speeds. Your content is unique and needy . If you are truly passionate about making it on KZread and stick with it you will be successful in this space. Best wishes Hope to see you in 2024 getting all the sponsorships. 😁

Your channel is amazing! I wholeheartedly dislike the prescriptiveness of women's magazines, and many of the KZreadrs that fall for sponsorship (I understand the need to earn money, don't get me wrong, but promoting new "must haves" every two weeks strikes me as very unsustainable). You present the trends, give some opinions, know what "conventional" style coaches would say about colours and proportions, yet encourage your viewers to go against that if they feel differently, and to shop ones own closet first, then preloved. That is gold!!! It's so sad to see, that apparently that is not what a consumerism-oriented media platform promotes... Your children will grow up, now is the time to make memories with them. Seeing how you don't want to cut down on the quality of your work, either take a break - we'd understand you! - or maybe just cut down on the output... Makeup for example has its own pretty avid bubble, and while certainly some of your followers will be into shoes and bags, I find that that's also something that could be more of a side note. If you were to focus on cuts, colours and textures, would that free up some time in recording and editing? Whatever you decide to do, quitting, cutting back, taking a break... I'll be here watching whenever you return ❤

Almost like, weekly focus on one trend, who did it on the catwalk, ways to wear it in real life, body shapes it suits & how the high street is doing it. That could bring each video down to 10-15 mins. Good luck, I can’t even keep up with content for my Pinterest!🙈😂 For what it’s worth I have no issues with the long videos 🥰

its really a difficult decision to give up something you have so much passion on it. My opinions here might be just very subjective..... Its not difficult to understand that those commercial low quality channels got so many viewers, its because the majority do not know how to appreciate your works, they are not serious viewers but instead they just want to entertain themselves a bit, follow the KOL they "like". Successful business seems need a lot of gives and takes...... and I could see many successful businesses have gone through many failures until one day, have gained a lot of experiences and when the right moments come, they are successful. So even if you quit now, you have gained a lot of precious experiences. Wish you the best !

It would be a pity if you quit KZread - I love your videos and I watch them multiple times throughout the season, nobody else makes this kind of content. At the same time, what you do is highly specialised - I am a fashion freak so I can sit and watch all these details for hours but I don’t know how many other people are like me. Another disadvantage may be that your channel presents other people’s content, not your own. I heard from another influencer that the KZread subscribers don’t grow as easily as they did in the beginning. Perhaps you should consider changing the format. You probably need to include more platforms because thay are all interconnected, such as Instagram, Tic Toc etc. Why not start real influencer content showing all aspects of your life? If you speak Russian you could even have two channels and address two huge markets.

Well, it is up to you what you want to share - influencers are not miracle workers, they just film what they do throughout the day, you would be surprised how many of us enjoy watching other people’s lives. They take pictures of their outfits, go to stores and try clothes, or make hauls from home and return everything, cook, go to Christmas markets, etc. Most of them are pretty ordinary people. Or just check what goes viral on the different platforms these days. No need to try to do super professional stuff all the time, it’s exhausting and doesn’t seem to generate traffic. It’s pleasure getting in touch personally, I like your personality too very much.

But I would use the retailers’ items, that’s what they are for. Or just show some things from their websites and comment, there are thousands of fashion videos like this.

Perhaps making shorter videos with less words coming out more often would be a solution? For me, for example, watching a video for 25 min can be tiring while5-10 min is just right

Hi Maria, as usually i love your content, but i understand how is hard for you, someone who is very indepth, very old fashioned, to survive and compete, in these times, that are driven by microwave culture, and consumption. People’s span is short. Probably most watched contents are unboxing, and living through someone who enjoys and shows luxury. Its like watching movie and reading a book. If you read a book, before you watch the movie, you will be pretty disappointed by the quality……and content right? But in these days how many ppl are really reading books? And thats the problem, because masses are moving like in transe, like under the spell.While all this exist, i believe , that in the long run, ppl will appreciate your type of content videos. Maybe you should focus more on certain group women, that are not typical model type. You can still talk about the trends and how to implement them, but also maybe put more emphase , on women,for who its harder to find fashion,to fit their bodies. I believe that there are a big percentage of viewers, in that group of women, who would appreciate the knowledge, the tutorials how to style the clothes. And look i understand that you are not in that consumption culture, but you cant dictate what women want to do with their money, no matter what size or age, they are. So by showing not actual things, but just by showing pictures, how to style and adjust certain brands, you would attract more certain group of targeted women. No matter what you choose to do, i wish you the best. I believe that you could be very successful, if you put right marketing strategy🙏. You have a great personality, and passion for fashion. That's intersting to hear your story. About the money. It's not linear. The first month was zero I imagine. The first year is $6/hour. After a few years it's very well paid. I'm glad to hear the exact figures and I don't know the long term ones but Laura Blair said she makes more than any of the men she's dated who said they made good money. Other KZreadrs who are successful seem to have alot of money to spend as they go along. And I agree about the BS of this is great clothes/purse/makeup/candles (only because it was free). LilySilk is one who will give you some nice clothes for free. Finally I paid for one sweater and was dissapointed in the cost/quality enough that i returned it. And I wasn't happy about the KZreadrs who endorsed it (which is all of the fashionista's) but I still watch them. One fasionista youtuber is a total prostitute. I have no issues with women in the sex trade but I don't subscribe to her channel, comment, or take her seriously. I hope you continue and make a good living doing what you love, and we want.
