You are an outstanding, extraordinary, and talented young man. It’s not how you start, is how you finish. Continue your hard work and continue this channel. You are more than pieces of paper given to you, you are a human being with experiences and that is more important than whatever diploma they gave you. I’m Really looking forward about your next contribution to this society. You will always have my outmost respect and admiration. Mete mano, sound killer!

I am at the University of Florida right now in Computer Science, but I chose the career specifically for it's applications in music production. I'm trying to code my own plugins, and I'm hoping to eventually get one to work lol. As much work as it is, I do enjoy college, but not as much as I enjoy music. The biggest reason why I'm so stuck on college is that I feel being a producer is not a stable job, and I want to at least be self sustainable in a long term career, which I feel that edm, especially colour bass, is really difficult to be a sustainable career. My music has potential, I've been told by people every time I have this conversation, but I also have potential at university and since it's a more stable future that's what I'm going with for now

Relate to this video on a lot of levels. I view my normal job as something that has to happen, the I make my music on the side. But I treat my music as my personal art, so a career for music for me really isn't ideal For me the biggest negative rn is dating. So hard and the dating apps suck

I can 100% relate to this. But as someone who is probably a little older let me tell you that it's never too late to succeed at something. You are on the right track and if you work hard enough you will make it. May I ask if a position as a sound designer at Black Lotus (or any comparable company) is worth it? I always assumed that sound designers earn relatively little in relation to all the sample packs they create.

It's worth it as a side hustle, unless you work for various companies and constantly do packs, it won't pay the bills, non the less it's a pretty good income

very cool video, im in a similar position although i did quit college. Lesson learned for me would be to focus on one thing and keep grinding it

I never went to College, but it is true that a lot of people like our family and friends telling us to go to College. You might have great Opportunities in the Music Industry but College is gonna pull the leash on you and forces you to study and all. Our passions are more important than a college degree, this EDM Industry is still young that some people might not see a bigger picture. Some people can relate to this and some people might not and that's what makes us unique. But what's important is your dreams and you gotta keep going it. And it doesn't matter what's popular in the scene right now, just make whatever you want to make.

Thanks for the honesty! I quit university because I saw no benefits from it and I´m glad I did. On the other hand I spend A lot of time at work which leaves me with less time for music than I would like but I fell like I´m on the right path though it can be pretty tough sometimes. Just do what you love the most!

I think being hard at work is more satisfying because you can instantly invest what you earned into what you want to do and be and makes it more enjoyable!

damn that's hard okay here is a quick overview of which genres are popular n stuff: phonk (is it at's peak, might be getting more unpopular soon) house (never can go wrong with house stuff - color house is something you also might wanna check out even tho it's still small) Synthwave (I also can't see this dying) in terms of dubstep color bass is still very popular among producers but as a whole genre is still super niche and I think it won't ever reach the mainstream in its current form. liquid DnB is rising again and getting more popular again

my college was basically a scam lol the degree wasn't even worth anything. I dropped out, invested lots of time into networking and ended up working for Image Line (FL Studio), a job that I didn't even need any degrees for because I knew people working for them at that point.

Networking is a must do in this industry and definitely pays well to know the right people! I might talk about that on a future video to keep inspiring young viewers!

How do you get your name out to companies like image line? Also can I ask what you do for them? I'm at university for computer science because I wanted to work for a company like that

@@SoundKillerOfficial totally agree! My personal top two places to go for networking are 1. trade shows and 2. online groups (like discord servers, Facebook groups, subreddits or whatever). You run across so many cool people there and even get to know about stuff you didn't even think about yourself before. I got my current job through someone I met on discord as well as countless gigs for stuff like sound design, mixing, mastering etc. And trade shows are always just so much fun. Got to meet Zardonic and Nasko (as well as many companies like Kilohearts or Zynaptiq) at Superbooth and am good friends with both by now. :)

@@Kallyn Long story short: I met a dude on discord lol I didn't expect that tho, I kinda just ended up there. Fun fact: I personally don't rly like FL Studio's workflow (yet? 🤷‍♂️) and I use Ableton myself lmao But that's pretty much irrelevant in what I do for them. Sadly, I can't really talk about what exactly I'm doing for them yet, as that's still not public. But sooner or later you'll see what we're cooking up atm. "Many cool things" is all I can tell you right now tho, hope you can understand that :)❤️ Regarding meeting companies like Image Line: At the end of the day, just be where the people are that you want to connect with tbh. At least when there are actually opportunities to talk to them there (so not like "I go to a concert to meet the artist who's playing"). Trade shows are always gold if you want to network with companies because there it's literally their job to talk to you and they're usually also on the lookout for cool new people that can bring new creative ideas to the table. What usually also helps is having something you can show them that you made or worked on. Some kind of example of your skills. That's not totally necessary tho, but definitely doesn't hurt. And in the rare case that you are proficient in Delphi: Do get in contact with Image Line through their website! afaik they're always on the lookout for people that know Delphi 😄
