From my experience, it's not that plastic instruments are bad. Metal instruments are just better

I have had a pbone for about a year. Seems like it takes less effort to center the pitch on brass - regardless of plastic or brass-silver plated mouthpiece. Has anyone else noticed this?

Dude, you're in Boston, not Anchorage. -15⁰F (literally the coldest it ever gets in Boston) is not going to hurt your instrument unless you let the condensation freeze without blowing it out. Reads and wooden instruments are much more sensitive (that's why brass is traditionally used for caroling).

Thanks for the helpful review. I'm potentially looking into one of these. Is it something you'd recommend for someone starting out who does learn musical instruments quickly but has no trombone experience, or would the PBone start to feel limited after a while? Also, the white PBone looks pretty stylish. Why did you pick that colour? Does the black one look like a drain pipe or vacuum cleaner attachment in person? I'm not sure about some of the other colours as they could look cheap. Thanks.

I was expecting you to take a ride on the background groove. What's weird is you look like I did decades ago, but my king 3B looks like yours did decades ago. But I have a day job and didn't take the time to develop the chops to make it as a full on pro. I don't transpose as I read and I don't read other clefs well. I also don't have sky range. I do play within my skillset and within my role and in the right key with the usual setups with rhythm sections that don't read and won't help. I won't embarrass us. Just brought a plastic allora. Will use it next time I'm fronting with ballads. Represent for us. I'll take your tour photos and tell folks it was me.

@@cuscampbell on your p bone do the position locations change a lot between partials and require you to use alternate positions for first? Or is it something you get used to lipping up or does the emberchure change is allora just kinda cheaper. I like the sound. The slide is consistent if not comfortable but it's almost like playing saxophone. I can play notes aiming at particular notes. But I have to think the specific note. With my 3B and most others, I can play tunes and the notes happen. I do read bass clef but I would seldom to never have a reading gig where I could use it. But if I can get it working I could use pretty regularly as most of my gigs aren't reading. I like the softer sound as a setup to sub for a sax. I don't particularly play sax and would never gig on one by the way. But like many I can read a song book at a beginner level on most instruments. I just play scales and we'll defined tunes on the plastic trying to get used to it.
