Why I moved to Singapore from San Francisco

In 2022, I moved from the U.S. to Singapore by myself with a few bags and no idea what to expect. Nearly a year later, I've learned a lot about what it's really like to live abroad and why I'm so glad I made the move.

Lived in SG for 11 years then moved to the US was my biggest regret. If given the opportunity to go back to SG I would immediately pack my bags and fly back.

Found this super relatable, I also recently made the move alone but in the opposite direction from Singapore to the US. Pretty happy with how things have turned out for me and I'm glad it seems to be working out well for you too. Looking forward to 2023!

Hi Jen, I really resonate with you when you said you are at a point where you don't have many responsibilities. I feel the same and I'm considering the move to a different country as well. I grew up in the same place and never really experienced a different culture. I'm not working at an international firm so I'd have to job search for an opportunity. I would love to start the conversation with you for any guidance!

Is it true that Singapore gets small over time and the over-population starts to grind on you? Is there synthetic feel to it where everything seems manufactured including the nature areas? I claims these things by my own interpretation through research and conversations as an American contemplating the notion.
