If you earn 1500€ or more as a person, and 2800+ as a family and own a house (average salary is about 900€) Greece is the best place to live on planet earth.

If you don't own a flat or house then try consider working from the internet. At the moment I'm working on tourism videos, trading crypto and working odd jobs here and there. I'm doing okay, it's a matter of time.

Unless you work in Athens and/or own a house there, I would suggest you leave that dirty,noisy, festering sh*thole as soon as possible! You've only been living there for 6 months, so I understand that everything is new and exciting for you! Trust me,it won't be long until you're SICK of this place and trying to get away from it! I don't know A SINGLE Athenian that wouldn't leave Athens if they could! There are innumerable amazing places in Greece where you can live a quality and enjoyable family life!!

Thank you so much for this video! As a Greek I am so disappointed by many Greeks that only have negative things to say about Greece. Through my whole school and university years all the teachers/professors were constantly saying that the best option is to go abroad.. they never teach us of the opportunities we can “create” in our country and they always tell us about the opportunities we can “find” abroad.. I live in New York for 5 years now and I’ll be returning to Greece permanently this summer. I appreciated the opportunities and knowledge I got from here but I hope I can create my own future and opportunities there!

Happy for you. I was born in Greece. Lived several years abroad as a student but also as an expat. UK, Mexico, Vietnam, Israel. Currently located back home with my family. I always have at the back of my mind that I should have moved abroad permanently. For my own sake but even more for my kids future. Greece is a beautiful place but all this financial struggle during the last 15 years is exhausting. You seem to have hit the sweet spot of life balance by living here but earning your living from abroad. Its all about perspective after all.

Thanks for this video. I live in Chania, Crete, and sometimes I forget how lucky I am to be here, not still living in London. You have also inspired me to get swimming again in the mornings!

We just left Chania last week to head back home to Nafplio. Wonderful city, fantastic people in Chania. I want to move there. My knee replacement slowed me more than I hoped as I was limited in mobility. Maybe next year.

I was born in Greece; emigrated to Canada at 5 year's old. I've been back to Greece 10 times and every time i was there I imagined one day living there permanently or semi-permanently ( 6 months- 6 months). I love it so much. Im 61 now and have my family with my wife and daughter. If my daughter gets accepted to a medical school in Greece, then i think that will be my best opportunity to be able to move there especially if she decides to stay in Greece after graduation. Thanks for allowing the imagination and the inspiration to flow and for the beautiful scenery.

i moved to Greece in 1996 at age 24 from Melbourne Australia on my own. Over night as it seems i packed and left best decision i ever made.

For the past 14 years I have been going to Greece at least once a year, as a tourist, and despite the fact that I visit other places too, I always go back to Greece, each time to a different place. There is nothing in this world that matches the energy of Greece, and I knew ever since I visited for the first time that I would move there one day. Currently living in London, where life is completely different. It would be really interesting to know more about what you work and what work from home type of jobs you would recommend! Going to watch your channel with a lot of interest :)

Milos is a very beautiful island.I worked there for 8 months.I did see old people swimming in the sea,at 6 or 7 a.m. , in the morning.

Well done for living in Greece for so long and still loving it. I hope you have every success and luck in life. Unfortunately, we, Greeks, had to leave this beautiful country, the place where we were born and grown, the place where our parents and grandparents still live, the place where we dreamt. We had to leave to make our lives and build the future of our children. It was impossible to go the extra mile in a country where taxes are insanely high, there is lack of justice, corruption is still everywhere, racism exists in almost every aspect of the community. Hopefully one day we can return back and find a different country, a country the way we dreamt it when we were young 🙏

Daniel great story! I have the opposite and kind similar to yours. I am Greek who moved to UK for 13 years then 2 years to Italy and I am living already 3 years in Tenerife Spain. Half of the people here are having relatives in Venezuela and there are flights directly to Caracas (no good time to visit, you know that for sure). My wife is from here and I am digital nomad but as you do, not working for the country but paying taxes here. I would love to move to Greece but she doesn't want so I had to step back but I made my deal that when my sons will be in University years, I will spend half of my year in Greece. We have corruption, bureaucracy, bad economy but I learned that in each country I am focusing to the positives that gives me and that way I am finding my peace (this rule applies to human relationships as well, focus to the positives of the other person unless the negatives are many more). I wouldn't suspect you are anything but Greek if I ever met you up close. That doesn't mean we, the Greeks, would see anyone looking non-Greek negatively. We're pretty chill about it. Except if they have suspicious political motives. We've been through a lot to have the luxury to feel chill about it. Wish you to grow very old and have a fulfilling life in Greece!

Greece is definitely a blessed by God, beautiful country. I've lived there for more than 20 years. Only problem is when it comes to deal with the Greek state and its bureaucracy...Unemployment rates are very high and cost of living is very high compared to the average salaries. So as long as you manage to earn ~ 2K - 3K monthly then you would be fine, problem is that it's very difficult to earn such salaries in Greece, unless you work from home and you are getting paid from a from an employer from a different country (US, UK etc) 😅

You have found the meaning of life!

Suppose you sound like a Greek because your mother tongue is Spanish. Learned Spanish years ago (don’t remember a lot 🤪) and it was very easy for me to learn it very quick, was for me like learning a language I already knew. Phonetically quite similar these two languages. Very strange as Italian normally should be closer, but isn’t. But I am surprised and happy to see that a “foreigner” see the same beauty in this blessed country as I do as a Greek. 2 years ago I also took that decision to move from Germany to my homeland and I am really happy that I did it. It’s great to see that people are more and more convinced of a more natural life. Soon I am gonna move to a village in Epirus and I am very happy about it. Wish you and your family all the best 😀

Great video! Yes, I'm leaving Chicago on May 6 to go to Greece for 26 days. First 8 days in Athens, then 5 days in Kalamata then 10 days in Kyparissia then back to Athens and go back to Chicago on June 1st. My father left me and my sister land on the Mediterranean in Kyparissia. I'm scoping Greece out because I'm highly considering moving to Greece. If I like it, I will move to Greece in a few months after I get back. I speak the language. Both my mom and dad were Greek. I'm 55 years old and yes, after living in a big city, I'm ready for a change. I just started a KZread channel and plan on growing it when I will probably move to Greece. My channel is about my Know Thyself Journey. I will be going to the Oracle of Dephi for sure! I cannot tell u how excited I am to be going to Greece in just a few days. I have to confess this video makes me very sad. I am happy that you love our country so much (despite the negatives) and wish to grow old here. I am happy that you want to share this love with others. I also love my country a lot. I've been living in Athens all my life, but as the opportunity came for me to try something new, I moved to Norway with my sister and a friend. I stayed there for one and a half year and came back home, to Greece. I missed Greek culture so much. My sister and the friend still live in Norway, but they also miss Greece. Now, after having experienced life in Norway, living in Athens is extremely difficult because I miss nature. I decided to move to επαρχία or to an island, but the rent is extremely expensive, and the jobs are scarce. So, I'm happy for you, I truly am. But at the same time, I am sad that as a native, Greece makes it so hard for us to stay here. I still don't know what I'm going to do. I am fixated on living in the province or an island (if in province, I want to find a place close to the sea), but can the desire ever surpass the chances a country can give for me? I wish I can stay in Greece indefinitely. But how, when at the age of 33 I still can't afford a place on my own? Ah, sorry for all this rant. I don't know what kind of advice I'm hoping you could give me as to ease my worries. But truly, thank you for sharing your love for Greece. We love tourists like you. 😁 I hope you have a great life here.

Yes, Greece can be hard for many of us, but it is definetely not a thirld word country and despite the misery of some people we will keep our heads high and make the country even better. Following the dreams is the best thing we could do in our lives, if only we can, have possibilities, both mental attitude and economically, which sometimes can be in opposite to the dreams, unfortunately.
