Why I'm Returning My Samsung S20+ - Poor Audio

The audio quality of the speakers on the Samsung S20+ leaves a lot to be desired. See my comparison in audio qualities between an S9+ and the S20+.

For the cost of the device it shouldn't have any major failings, you're doing the right thing returning it.

I noticed this too. The S9+ had great bass and clarity but this phone has very tinny sounding audio.

I also switched from s9+ to s20+ and I did not notice any difference. Both of them are exynos versions.

i switched from s9+ to s20+ and i feel a huge difference in the audio. s20+ sounds so little and weird. because s9+ sound so good so i expect s20+ to have better audio quality. overall s20+ is a good phone except the audio

My s10e sounds great without any EQ settings or dolby atmos. Not as good as iphones but S20+ speaker is so awful I regret "upgrading" to it, will be getting rid of it and going back to s10.

Agreed, sound quality and design is very important. I ended up returning the Pixel 4a because of it, so now I'm looking for a phone that *doesn't* sound trash, especially since the main thing I use a phone for is playing rhythm games. Thanks for this!

@@h4rdc I decided that a secondhand Pixel 3 was good enough for me, so I found one in pretty good condition/low use (according to battery health) on ebay for like 150 and bought that. That'll give me a few years to wait for a new phone that might do audio better. Sony's Xperia 5 II has front facing speakers and looks like the best choice for current gen phones with good audio for people who play rhythm games, but that price tag is a bit steep (it's like 75% of the first PC I built from scratch back in 2012).

Samsung need to work on improving audio quality. I guess it is hardware and software both issues. I have an old redmi note 4, if I connect phone to my car audio through Bluetooth or aux, it works just awesome. But samsung with the same audio app and same mp3 file doesn't give that good quality bass. Have tried all third party apps including their good lock, but nothing is of help.. have also tried this with earphones and got disappointed with Samsung. You try the best and costliest earphones, samsung phone will disappoint you. same earphones with other brand phones would just work awesome..
