At the end of the week (It’s Friday:) most tech and really many things are all in the eye of the one holding the product. The ipad pro is for a small niche anyways. on top of that if you are a creative using it there are some really usable features. That said it’s not for most people. Just like the mac book air which is probably for 90% of users the ipad regular? is for most people. If you truly want a tablet that is a true computer then get a windows touch screen computer. This is not super complicated. The person on here is stating an opinion and he is entilted to it. At least he is not like that Greg Gadget guy that literally does the same 4. ideos when an apple product comes out. I get that is his livelihood but at least say at the beginning. “Thanks for watching and this is the same stitck but at least watch through the first commercial”.

That’s nice and best of all. You have a sim tray. That’s why I’m holding on to my M1 and maybe if silly enough would upgrade to an M2 Pro (refurbished). I live in Europe so travelling to different countries happens often and the ability to have a separate sim is appreciated. Actually I don’t know why anyone would buy the M2 Air instead of a refurb M2 pro.

The Apps I use on my iPad are: At work: Microsoft Teams The preview app with either Outlook or OneDrive to get the file onto my iPad for siging documents with the Apple Pencil Outside of work but doing work-stuff: ocassionally Microsoft Remote Desktop, that essentially gives me Windows on my iPad Outside of work and doing non-work stuff: KZread Safari Mail (I have work email on Outlook and personal email on the Apple mail app) Calendar Banking apps Face Time Messages (Work stuff is on Teams, personal stuff is on the Apple calling and messaging apps) I use the focus settings to disable notifications on Teams and Outlook outside working hours. An A14 does not struggle in any way to do any of that, and in fact Safari on that is still quite a bit faster than anything you are likely to find on non-Apple silicon. The M4 may will reduce response times from something like 10ms to 3ms, but I'm not really going to notice.

I’m new to Apple and iPads. Found your channel after the M4 announcement and loved your honest take. So, I got the M4 Pro, and after trying it, I compared it to the Air at an Apple Store. Both are similar, but the M4 Pro’s response time in Procreate is way better. It’s like flying first class. Totally worth. If you’re an artist, the M4 Pro is worth the extra cost for its smooth performance. If you’re not an artist, skip it. If you're an artist on a budget, save up-this is a game-changer for creating art.

Apple did a round of interviews. Not only did they reiterate that macOS in any form is NOT coming at WWDC 2024, but they also confirmed they have ZERO plans for it to ever come. They said the main reason is the iPad is complementary not a replacement, i.e. why compete against your own products? An ex-CEO of MS also did an interview and agreed that Apple would be dumb to allow macOS on iPads. He cited the dumpster-diving failure of Windows 8 and MS's missed opportunity to have a tablet business. They did the hybrid thingy, and it was an utter fail, and he would wonder why anyone would want to make that same mistake.

People ask why you should use an iPad if you have a phone. I say an iPad is larger, offers a much better experience, and is obviously better for your long-term eye health. Also, the attached keyboard, when needed, will make you significantly more productive than on a phone.

I'm not so sure the design incompatibilities were avoidable. It wasn't just that the iPad was thinner; they also needed to accommodate the new position of the front facing camera, which I think people who use it for Zoom will appreciate. This isn't the first time older accessories were incompatible with the newer device. The Pencil 1 doesn't work with the usb-c iPads, and the Pencil doesn't work with the lighting iPads. I don't object if once in every 6 years or so, there are design changes like this; and I'm happy if they do them all at once.

I have bought the iPad Pro with M1 in August in 2021 (as a present for my 18. bd) like many other and the hype around this incredible tool was horrendes. I am an Hobby Artist and architecture student, its a hell lot of a joy to draw on it but it only is great for me because i likely get the (not as much as maybee with my mbpro, m3pro) howl potential. 120hz, double tab and so on, but i am so vastly mad that they do not give us the possibility to use the Apple pencil pro on older devices, just because of the slightly moved charging port. I wish i could use it but i do not see the reason to pay even more for the same product with nearly 80-90% similarities. It’s such a great tool in a unmatched package but because apple wants ypu to buy everything from them they are not able to make it more powerful.

I just upgraded from my 2018 12.9" pro to the M4 13" pro. I like the nicer screen, it feels a lot snappier (which I did not expect), and I'm looking forward to trying out the functionality of the new pencil. I don’t think that complaint I hear from some reviewers take into consideration that keeping the old dimensions (or bigger) of the device will NOT give us a bigger battery. Apple usually don’t put more battery capacity on the devices but rather they keep the same limit and try to make the chips more battery efficient. I only worry about being fragile or I’m how it may affect the heat with intensive tasks like 3D sculpting (maybe being thin even helps with that).

I decided to get a new battery instead since the iPadOS 17.4 nerfed my battery. However, if Apple lets us use the M4’s real power in the future, then I would consider upgrading.

The iPad just isn't powerful enough to expand the OS to a complete - full-featured computing experience. And by 'powerful', I, of course, mean... profitable. Until Apple can charge for a single iPad what they make from selling you an iPad AND a MacBook, there's little incentive - people seem to love the fancy-looking streaming consumption devices. I was suckered in by the same thing, "oh this thing is so portable, and my work use-cases aren't so complex, surely the iPad will be enough as my daily diver. Nope. My experience with my 13in M2 iPad Pro can be summed up as, "I'm so glad iPadOS requires 2-3 extra steps or workarounds for the same thing MacOS can do in a single click." I find myself ditching the iPad for my old 2017 13in MacBook Pro (with like, a fraction of the raw performance) at least half of the time because of something the iPad can't/won't do. Is the crowd that essentially wants a Microsoft Surface, with Apple Silicon and MacOS so small?

I agree with you about iPads should have the option to run MacOS, especially the M series iPads. and the year on year upgrades probably aren't worth upgrading each time. I've just upgraded my Apple kit; went from an Intel Macbook pro from 2013 to a M3 Pro Macbook Pro and from an iPad 2 to an M4 iPad Pro; I noticed a massive performance jump! Apple kit has the potential to stay usable for so long there is no need for yearly upgrades. Keep the skits and I'll keep watching....

well, their dilemma was……customers wanted the landscape Face ID / front camera position. this created an issue for the charging mechanism for the Apple Pencil 2…which sucks, but there’s nowhere else to place the charging area without compromising anything. thus the Apple Pencil Pro….in all actuality….Apple Pencil Pro…really should’ve been the Apple Pencil 3…but, without it being able to work with the previous generations….i assume that’s why they went with the “Pro” naming. idk….i’m a no one. lol.

It's one thing at the new iPad can't charge the new pens and vice versa but is it really true that the digitizer won't even connect? I don't see any reason why that should be the case. Could use a surface pen or an s pen from a decade ago. Obviously a Galaxy tab S9 can't charge your s pen from the Note 9 or something but they work interchangeably in terms of the digitizer. Likewise with any product that uses a surface pen or Microsoft protocol for stylus. Example is the surface duo2 worked with a slim pen but it had no way of charging it. You have to buy a separate charger or already own a surface device. But at least make the digitizer recognize it. I mean that where someone happens to own two iPads? I know it's not a practical use case but it would be nice to know if you're brand new iPad pro OLED broke you could still use your propane on your older iPad. Anyway I appreciate you subjecting us to these copy and paste embargo reviews.

Apple did an interview so people knew what to expect at WWDC 2024 after last year's overhype by the YT creators. They reiterated that macOS is NOT coming this year or anytime in the medium term. In fact, they implied that macOS will NEVER come to iPads, which has never been the plan. Best for you to ignore clickbait creators who keep pressing for this, knowing that it will never happen.

This is the state of tech, with smartphones, laptops and tablets being mature. I am not sure what you are expecting, and I think Apple is doing everything right; for me, some people have too high expectations, having grown up with fast innovation. They now expect this to be the par for the course, but the reality is that iPads and Tab S Ultra will, in 20 years, still fundamentally be the same as they are now. Admire them for how great they are and how lucky you are to be in these times.

But I also don’t think they will ever add MacOS nor do I think that’s the right move, they just need to add some better Apps like a Final Cut and logic with ALL the features; an Xcode app with full functionality; some more AAA games; some more pro and non pro 😅apps with no reduction in functionality. And some system improvements. I’t just up to developers I believe when it comes to the iPad in my humble opinion as a tech enthusiast ☺️.

This amoled crazy fast ipad Pro would be better. But i do have an samsung s23 ultra phone and it does everything i need but just on a smaller screen. So Ipad Pro would just be a luxury item instead of it improving my life. I also have a nice oled TV so im not sure where an ipad pro would fit in. Im just a tech nerd and that's the reason i want it. My last ipad i had was from 2012 and it died in 2014 randomly while i was using it. That's the thing i could spend alot of money on it and it just to die in 2 years. Needs a 5 year warranty. The entry level ipad seems really good but it's a shame it's not oled or amoled.

Also a lot of apps that aren’t of my interest like music, there are a lot of expensive apps for music production. I don’t even want macOS for iPad if I wanted it it would not be because of the iPad having too much power, I want iPad being able to format drives (no need of much power for that).
