Adam- Like you say, there are only 32 kickers in the NFL. It's a privilege to play at that level. Get some game experience on your resume and see if you can work in the CFL or XFL. It's not as much $$$ but is a legitimate stepping stone to get to the NFL. Rootin' for you!!!

@@galav108if you’re a back up there’s a 90 percent chance you’re not getting a single second of playing time cause it’s a very low chance the kicker gets injured

Just an FYI he was a 0 star because he went to a tiny high school in a little town in NW Montana, no one other than Montana or Montana St ever saw him play, if I recall Aaron Rogers and Josh Allen were both like 0-1 star guys, Rogers had to go to a local JC and Allen ended up at Wyoming. Rogers almost decided not to even play football after HS.

So your life goal is to be able to kick a ball?

You should be working with a snapper and holder …you should also be training with Zauner , Sailor or Kohls …you need to be able to hit 50 yds in all conditions under extreme mental pressure….thats the difference

What is the process you have to go through to get a tryout? Seems like there are a lot of teams unhappy with their kicking situation. Ex. Rams

Back in the late 70s I was also a kicker, I simply wrote to every team and to my surprise they all wrote back, unfortunately they all said they weren't interested except the Cowboys, they actually offered me a tryout.

Every scout knows about this guy but they also don’t think he has it in him Being a kicker really isn’t about leg strength or accuracy because there’s a million people who can kick like that, it’s about having that strength and accuracy no matter what situation you’re in, wether you’re taking a an extra point in a blowout meaningless game or you’re taking a 55 yard field goal in the rain and wind with a game on the line. You can’t teach nerves, you can’t teach someone to handle the pressure you either have it or you don’t

I got MAD respect for you, Homie. I have a pretty interesting story myself, which gives me a unique perspective into yours. The bottom line is that success in a person's life often ends up happening once LEGITIMATE, SACRIFICIAL preparation meets an unexpected and unpredictable opportunity. Like you said, next year there will be 32 people kicking the ball- even if all the best ones in the world fall over dead; they're gonna take the next best, available 32. Realistically, none of us can ever really say with any certainty that we're the best at anything, and if we happen to be it's probably only for a moment; HOWEVER, you may have the opportunity to be the right guy at the rightTIME. THAT is why you practice!

You inspired me to start kicking again. I’m 42 years old and kicked in high school and 1 year of college but reignited my desire. My hopes of becoming pro have past, but just the joy of the process has returned.
