As a person who is in love with the Wii and its my favorite console, I’m just happy that more people are going back to the Wii’s amazing library

I have been building my Wii collection for a couple years now. Mainly because the games on that system are so unique and a lot have their multiplayers fully fleshed out. Plus light gun games are my jam

Anyone remember when some Wii's couldn't read Smash Bros Brawl if they were worn out enough? Mine was one of them. Send it in for fixing, but didn't get to play it at launch. We then went on a small vacation to my cousin's town, and he had a Wii and his COULD read Brawl, so I stayed there the whole time, playing Subspace Emissary! My parents even tried to drag me to a dinosaur museum and I refused cause I was gamin', and they told me I would regret it. Haven't regretted it once, I had a hell of a time 😎

Oh man, what a lightning in a bottle system the Wii was. I am very fond of it, and proud of my library. You're gonna be able to find a lot of recommended games in your own research, so I'll shout out some more hidden gems. Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars is right up your alley. It's retro vibe as heck, in the form of a 3D action platformer. Ultimate B grade game. Spyborgs, Monster Lab, Death Jr: Root of Evil, Deadly Creatures and Overlord: Dark Legend are all of the same ilk and this batch of games all feel like one dysfunctional family to me haha. Oh, and Disaster: Day of Crisis is in the family too! Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. The last CC game, and what a banger. Some of the best graphics on Wii with a grand ol time for a vibe. For more Final Fantasy, Chocobo's Dungeon is also fantastic and the Wii version is the original version with all of the content. Trauma Team. The entire Trauma series is surprsingly good, but this one has some production value to it. Some interesting / greats ports were done on the Wii. Bully and Tomb Raider Anniversary were more straight ports, but had extra attention given to the controls. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is straight up more humourous and has way more personality than the HD versions, and better because of it. Also, it includes PoP Classic. Driver: San Francisco is an entirely different game to the HD versions, but it's no where near as good. There was even a Need for Speed game in Nitro, but that might be a Nintendo exclusive. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories? By far, the Wii version is best. Baroque got a port on here too, as did Project Zero / Fatal Frame 2, Okami, Klonoa and Sakura Wars. Spectrobes: Origins is something out of the dreamcast days. Some beyween Skies of Arcadia and Phantasy Star Online, but not as good as either 😂 Opoona is also kinda in the same tier. Shooters? Ghost Squad, Dead Space: Extraction, House of the Dead series, Link's Crossbow Training, Wii Sports Resort Archery mode, Western Heroes and Resident Evil Umbrella Chonicles and Darkside Chronicles. For something with more of a campaign to play through like The Conduit, then Goldeneye 007 is it. But the big big shooter? Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Skies. Doesn't get more hidden gem than that game. There's also Geometry Wars Galaxies, for the more Space Invaders kind of shooter too. While we're in first person mode, Red Steel 2 is good fun. First one, not so much. There's also Dragon Quest Swords for something more RPG-like with a slower pace in first person. The best Rabbids game is Rabbids Go Home. MySims is an EA series they made like Ubisoft did with Rabbids, just throw everything to wall to see what sticks. MySims Kingdom and Agents are the most interesting. Go Vacation is probably the best mini game compilation on the Wii, so much so it got a Switch port. Job Island is better imo, but is way less popular. Bit Trip Complete too! And of course, Wario Ware Smooth Moves. And Beat the Beat! There's a couple of flight games in Wing Island and Sky Crawlers(this is basically Ace Combat with anime art). Batman: The Brave and the Bold is a WayForward platformer, and better than NSMB imo. Rayman Origins is probably the best 2D platformer on the system though. Anno: Dawn of Discovery is a city builder / strategy game made for the Wii, you don't find many of those and this one is good! Little King's Story as well. Zack and Wiki is a must must have. An actual gem in the Wii library. Puzzles, character, and what a vibrant, sunny vibe it has! ☀️ Pandora's Tower, The Last Story and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for your epic games. Honestly, they're all diamonds in the rough, but diamonds they are. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is an incredbly well made and fun fighting game, much needed when Brawl and Guilty Gear ports were the only options. Fantastic game and exclusive, probably forever. Other M is shat upon, but the game itself is pretty fun with how action packed it is. Has some terrible bits nonetheless, but worth picking up imo. Resident Evil 4, arguably the best version with its motion controls. Forgotten Dreams and Muramasa the Demon Blade are like a manga come to life. Beautiful visual styles, and both fun and interesting. Kororinpa, Endless Ocean 1 & 2 and Another Code R: A Journey into Lost Memories for simple and clean aesthetics. Rodea the Sky Soldier's Wii version is the one to get. Made by Sonic's creator, and it sure feels like it! If you wanna go fast though, can't go wrong with ExciteTruck and ExciteBots. No More Heroes 1, honestly one of the best Wii games. Every feature of the Wii remote is used well, and this was before Wii motion plus. Like Zack and Wiki, a true gem. Wonderfully remastered on the Switch! Onto more mainstream, Mario Galaxies 1 and 2 (don't forget 2, it's better), Kirby's Adventure and Epic Yarn, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword (Switch version is 100% better though), Super Paper Mario, Donkey Kong Country Returns (3DS version has button controls which you may prefer, but Wii is 60 fps). Nintendo, but a bit less popular; Wario Land Shake Dimension has a fantastic 2D visual style, and Punch-Out is a brilliant remake. Speaking of remakes, Mario Power Tennis, and Pikmin 1 and 2 have great Wii versions. Mario Golf ain't on here, but We Love Golf is pretty much it anyway. ....I think that really covers it. Wow, that was a rabbit hole and a half! I just went on a huge nostalgia trip thinking of all my Wii games. I'm sure I missed a few. God bless anyone who has read this far. Hopefully this is useful for future collectors and Wii enjoyers!

Wii was one of my favorite systems of all time. It did brought the family together and it also had some hardcore games for true gamers and the design of the system is just... Chef's kiss 🤌🏻 Wii forever! ❤️

Make sure to pick up the last story, muramasa the demon blade, pandora’s tower, arc rise fantasia, fire emblem radiant dawn, baroque, fragile dreams some great ones

Silent hill shattered dreams the best version

Pokémon Black and White is my favorite games. It actually has an interesting story, uses the gym leaders as more than just challenges that never come back up again, the game doesn’t end once you become the champion and they get rid of all previous Pokémon. It’s a bold move but if you accept that you only have new Pokémon to select from it’s such a refreshing move. You don’t have the option of catching a Magicarp with the first rod you get and just keep it in slot 1 to get your Gyrados; like we all do in every game. It forces you to play with the new Pokémon and make new strats. I love it.

To everyone who is writing you can mod your Wii or emulate it, yes you can (like on any system). I also emulate and mod my consoles but I also collect games when I feel like it. Collecting games is different than emulating or playing it on a modded system, you get the box art, the manual, the disc, the smell... These items loon nice on shelf and also keep value and can be resold in a later date. There are many reasons why people collect and although emulation or modding system is the better option to "play" the games, collecting is much more than just "playing them", at least for me.

It definitely is. Collecting is about more than just playing the game. There's nothing like seeing a shell full of games that you collected over the course of time. Each game is its own memory.

I also just bought a wii again a few weeks ago, now is a great time to build up the collection because games are significantly cheaper than most other consoles

What an awesome haul!! The Metroid Prime trilogy is in a class of it's own, but you unlocked some hidden memories with Mario Sports Mix! I played that game all the time with my friends as a kid. Now I gotta hunt it down myself haha Great video!

Lately I've been going into retro game stores and buying games I've never heard of, just based on the art on the cases. It's been pretty fun and rewarding. You should look around, find some you've never heard of and do a video on them.

Mario galaxy 1, 2, kirby collection, kirby epic yarn, sonic colors, new super mario bros wii, beyblade, wario ware smooth moves, mario party 8, smash brawl, super paper mario,, mario kart wii, red steel 2, wii sports, metroid prime trilogy, donkey kong returns, he got the conduit series as well and they are fun actually, poke park 1 & 2, pokemon battle revolution, and it can play gamecube games love that system so much.

never owed a wii before, but am watching this video sparked my interest and starting a collection love the vids matty!

You know what's funny? I also never played a ton of Wii stuff growing up either. I think I'm a tad bit older than you, and I definitely was a Nintendo kid growing up...yet I didn't want the Wii for whatever reason. I borrowed one for a while and played, and enjoyed, stuff like Smash Brawl...yet I still didn't want to get one. I really don't know why. But I've since been on a journey to catch up with gaming, so I have a Wii now and have a bunch of big games for it. Now I've gotta get to playing more of them. Speaking of Wii pickups, I literally just today picked up Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. It's a light gun/rail shooter style game that covers a few different RE stories (RE 0, 1, & 3).

I had a modest wii collection(60-70) had to sell them quite a few years back to pay some bills. Now I'm slowly rebuilding my collect but ,just the games I WILL play, I realize now that having games I don't play doesn't help😂

I'd suggest picking up Pandora's Tower, Cursed Mountain, and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

So am I. Just picked up The Trauma center games, The Godfather, Bully, HOTD games, Mad World, Red Steel 2, Victorious boxing Revolution, Sega Bass fishing, Ghost Squad, DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and I was fortunate enough to find a complete in box copy of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom.

You know what's funny about the first Conduit? Those of us that only had a Wii at the start of the generation didn't have a good FPS for a while. I remember having to wait for this game forever and when it arrived it looked great (for the wii), but it just wasn't that great to play.

The Clash of Ninja Revolution Games are great, the Wii Controls really work well. Great to play Co-Op aswell. There is a super obscure Pokemon turn-based Wii Game too with a soundtrack that slaps

I've been building up my wii collection as well. Much like you, i also feel like i slept on alot of titles. Given i'm a certified nintendo head, i seemed to have slept on a number of titles. Not to mention getting a few games back that my sister's ex stole from me. As of this post, I've recently picked up super mario galaxy 2. With warioware smooth moves, new super mario bros wii and super mario galaxy 1 being obtained last week. Currently waiting for budokai tenkaichi 3 to arrive.

I would love a Clash of Ninja/Revolution collection. There was actually like 8 or something but japan only for some. Also sucks we didnt get some of the full metal alchemist games in america

I just love the Wii. The game library is amazing, the soundtracks are memorable, the controls are intuitive and implemented motion controls very well, and the design is just “Chefs kiss”.

I tried busting out my Wii recently and just setting the motion sensor up, having all my wii remotes not work anymore, was just really frustrating knew i never wanted to do it again. i just said F it and sold everything except the Mario Galaxys and Twilight princess. the motion sensor was a blessing for the time, but its not fun at all to go back to. probably why wii game prices are relatively low.

I'm glad I started Wii collecting a few years ago. It feels like the Wii is becoming the new flavor of the week for collectors, which means prices could potentially see a rise in the next 2 years.

I most recently modded my Wii and got every Wii game on it me personally I don't like paying 100 plus dollars for older games when I can just the ISO file online for free.

I owned all these games! The wii was my second console after the gamecube. The nostalgia hit me like a truck man.

i have the whole 2011 e3 nintendo presantation the last time it aired on tv before it went online only.

Wii, PS3 games are great to collect for right now.

Just a couple weeks ago I bought a Wii. Mostly because Scooby-Doo: Night of 100 Frights doesn't work on Silver GameCubes apparently. Idk why that is, but it led me seeking out a Wii. So while I was grabbing one, I grabbed games that looked good. Nothing high end, but my pickups were Dragon Blade Wrath of Fire, Hello Kitty Seasons, The Island of Dr. Frankenstein, Looney Tunes Acme Arsenal, and Mortimer Beckett and the Secrets of Spooky Manor. Again, nothing crazy but hopefully out of them there's some fun to be had.

Remember the day I got my wii . Had gotten up at 3am and my parent took to WM only to be told they were not releasing them till 7. We went home fixed and ate breakfast then went back. Was fortunate to get one as they had limited quantity.

Games I’d recommend anyone looking at good wii games are pandoras tower and the last story both are incredibly fun rpgs the the American version of pandoras tower has a game breaking bug that never got patched it’s still beatable though

A few Wii games actually unlock extras on the DS versions of the game. Batman brave and the bold for example.

The one thing I hate is that the Wii has this legacy now of being a "shovelware" console. Sure it had some trash games, but every system does. Wii had some incredible games and not all of them were first party. Dead Space Exaction, Final Fantasy CC: The Crystal Bearers, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Tatsunoko vs Capcom. One I always recommend to people though is Red Steel 2. It is a Wiimote Plus game, but it's also one of the games to own a Wiimote Plus for. Just the art style alone is beautiful and just being this insane combination of being a Western, Samurai film and Road Warrior post apocalyptic all is one is just *chef's kiss*

Conduit was the jam back in the day. The online was GOD TIER, conduit 2 not so much, wasnt quite as good as the first game. But god damn the original conduit, the story, the online. If only i could go back and play again online :c And conduit was the Wii's Halo, not COD. Wii had COD proper, which was also great.

I don't really get why some retro games are a lot pricier in the US. Those Conduit games cost about 5 bucks in the UK. Games like Metroid Prime Trilogy and Silent Hill can be expensive but vast majority of Wii games are worthless here
