I love surrey, I was born there, and lived there the first 8.5 years of my life, and then have been in delta the past 13.5 years. Love both the cities, each part of Surrey has such a unique feel to it, if the crime rate goes much down, Surrey would be a perfect city.

Social negligence is the fantasyland of Surrey's residents. Vote to put up cameras all over Surrey, or at least high crime areas. The crime will go to Langley, which is fair riddance to bad rubbish. Langley needs to do the same thing -so the sleazy stumble over to Abbottsford, eh? Putting jobs and training in high crime areas worked in LA and NYC... Why not in your backyard, dude?

@@SettG4 yes and no. I used to live in surrey for 15 years. The car break ins SUCK!!! mine was hit twice in a year in the most expensive neighborhood. I am now in Washington State but STILL LOOOVE the Geography!!! Love love! But the thefts were out of control. Western Washington does have bays and straits and water bodies but DAM we DONT have culture, We DONT get together and have organized actives its REALLY what I loved about Surre/Vancouver!!!

there's more to just Newton you know. Every town brings a different taste. Guildford has an urban feel to it. Fleetwood has a small town feel. Cloverdale has a farm feel and South Surrey has a beach feeling towards it. Surrey is BIG.

Lana Del if you don’t mind me asking, what is the usual there? My cousin and a friend of mine said they would hear random gunshots and that the place has a lot of dealers. All I did there was just stay at the house and walk to the convenience store during the day.

Kat Dawson depends what neighbourhood you are in. There many places like clover dale that are genuinely nice, and usually quiet. I’m in the newton area and not much gunshots Just, you know, drugs and what not. It’s not dangerous, just often times there’s street fights, gangs and what not. If you live in a secluded/ suburban or rural area it’s pretty nice, USUALLY

Surrey is a nice place to live. Mind you there are many homeless people living here. The amount of trash thrown out is getting worse. Too many high rises. Look at Bellevue, Washington. It has a nice feel and close to Seattle. Looks much more cleaner than Surrey. Surrey is over populated at 517,000 people compared to 150,000 people in Bellevue, Washington.

Yeah...used to love it too and had hope for the city/stood up for it when people would stereotype it but unfortunately, the people residing here who populate it the most make it overwhelmingly unpleasant to live in. Anytime a group of people act like they own the place/are better than the rest, it ruins it for everyone else who doesn't identify as the majority. Much looking forward to moving away from Surrey soon and having it be a part of my past.

that is what I hated about ICBC my insurance NEVER went donw in the 15 years I was a BC resident.

i lived in surrey (fleetwood) from 2003-2010! i moved to spruce grove, alberta on july 16th, 2010, and still live there today!
