Someone I worked with years ago before retiring, a woman being treated for cancer, told me, “you spend your entire life gathering up all these possessions and in the end you try desperately to get rid of it all” AND… a very wealthy woman I worked for in college told me “the more you have the more problems you will experience in life”. So, your message in this video, as far as I’m concerned, is absolutely correct. Best wishes, see ya on the road 😊

Hello Kimann, Hope you find your dreams. You seem to be enjoying going to all of these wonderful destinations. I'm 59, having retired at 54 after working for the government more than 31 years. During that time they moved us around all over the US. My wife (soulmate) and I have been married/together for almost 40 years now and are also empty nesters. We recently bought a travel trailer and plan to utilize it a lot, but will retain our home base here in Central Oregon. Safe travels! Cheers!

We have an Artic Fox truck camper and enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors kayaking, fishing, hiking and exploring. But something to consider, don't overlook the importance of having a place to call home. We have a twenty-five acre homestead, we've saved and sacrificed to have a place to call home, but more importantly, a place where we could live self reliant through gardening and having chickens and livestock. We have two senior citizen family members now living with us, it's because they did not plan well and didnt have a place to go, they just hit the road in their RVs and never looked back. Life changed for them and they no longer have the means to provide for themselves and cannot even travel well. Now they live on our property... rent free, we could not turn our backs on them, so now we have permanent guests. So have a plan, consider finding yourself a place to call home, even though your not ready to live there, there will come a day you'll be glad you have a place to call home.

I always considered myself sad, too - even as a child. A radical change is challenging, but it is worth it! Be kind to yourself! You are a beautiful soul doing the best you can. You can be happy, but happy doesn't mean you are ecstatically happy all the time. Life happens, but you will feel much better and enjoy life more by living by what brings you joy! Keep me updated. i'm soon to be 61, and it's a viscous circle, it was always expected that you got married, had kids, buy a home and fill it with things, and it locks you in because now you have to work to pay for it all. You go to work, come home, do home things around the house, go to bed and then it starts all over again the next day, while I didn't get married or have the kids I bought the house, and filled it, I felt that pressure and anxiety and didn't know why. I didn't realize there was anything more until I went to the Grand Canyon while on a business trip I had never really been off the east coast, while searching for travel videos I stumbled on Carolyn's RV and then all the rest of the youtubers, now my future has changed at 62 I'm going to retire, sell everything (purchase some land with a small house), and travel, I have a 20ft travel trailer that I now use to camp locally and plan to start with the trailer until I decide what mode of transportation works best for me, most people are happy with the traditional sticks and bricks but some are always wondering if there is something more.

@@KimannChessa thank you!:) figuring it out, about 5 years ago I decided to take a year off from the norm, I think everyone should do that once in their life, kids got their own family they’re good and I just shut it down, I expressed that’s what I was doing took everyone a couple of months to get it, I had to train them I wasn’t 911 ( I have a big family, siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins) and train myself to not respond, stopped answering the phone and going to bed with other people’s problems they’ll figure it out…and they did maaaaaaan, I started sleeping better, went for walks, festivals and didn’t have to converse just enjoyed the moment, if I did talk to someone while out, there wasn’t no need for a lifetime commitment, simplified other aspects of my life and it was great! Especially the sleeping part. I got a lot accomplished too. Took a class, cleaned, ate better, think it’s time to recharge again! I found that people understood it, but didn’t have the courage and actually got mad about it, said it was selfish….naw, it’s selfish for you not wanting to see me at peace:) salute to you for taking the plunge!

I admire your courage to break free from the golden cage and follow your own path. I can feel the gratitude and contentment in your words. Your appreciation for the present moment and the freedom you've found is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your story and reminding us all to live in love, not fear. May your journey continue to bring you happiness, fulfillment, and new adventures.

This is the greatest achievement in life - to be true to yourself and live authentically on your own terms. Like someone who always loved that way, It's sad to observe how people waste this precious life and bury themselves under the mud of society. I salute you my dear - this is the Great Awakening. Keep dancing to your tune and live out of Love always. We are transforming this whole world and this is your purpose ❤

You are so welcome. I learned that when we hold back who we are and what we need for others, we damage ourselves emotionally, physically, and mentally. Passive-aggressive behavior is an outlet. We once learned this behavior as a survival skill, but you don't need it anymore. Be kind and loving to yourself. If people can't accept you for your authenticity, they may not be your people. That is challenging with family, but if they love you, they will eventually come around. I am sending you positivity and love.

I think your mission statement could be summed up as: LIVE! But to do that correctly and authentically does take a bit of spelling things out. I'm so glad to see you embracing joy and love and self acceptance! I've always known exactly who I was - the problem was loving and accepting that because what I am was so radically different from every one I knew. The only way I could interact was to actually BE other people. I hated the shortcomings I had and was frustrated by them even though those I loved found them endearing. I was convinced I was either an alien or insane. Moreso than even accepting and embracing (some time ago) that I'm not heterosexual, finally finding out that I'm actually autistic very quickly ended those stigmas and self loathing and lead to a road of self love and acceptance. I developed a soft spot for myself, I guess largely because my oldest is autistic. Sometimes, you're offered an opportunity to see the world and yourself without any lenses, and it can be so wonderful and transformative and liberating and beautiful. I am so very happy to see you had your moment. I identify with so much you said and did get a bit emotional with you. Namaste, my friend. You are a wonderful person and I think I speak for many when I say I absolutely love you!

Hi Debi. Thank you for sharing. Life is complex! We make decisions that may not be serving us now. I always thought marriage should be a contract with a time limit - maybe five years, and then we reevaluate! The human species isn't biologically monogamous - shocking! It stabilizes society, and marriage makes much money - weddings, household items, and divorces. People change. If we are honest with each other, things may change for the better. Only you can decide what is right for you! I feel you. It is never easy, but life is a gift worth living peacefully. You will find your peace! Sending love!

I found it interesting when you described the van as your ex-husband complaining what you were spending on it. If you were working in a hospital, you were making good money of your OWN to spend as you wanted. Also, you said the van was in HIS name so he kept it. I think he was afraid you would just pack up and drive away if you could and I am very glad you finally did just that and are finding YOURSELF for the first time in your entire life. Alot of women in the same position are doing just that with their cars, vans, tiny houses etc. I can only imagine how FREE they feel when they drive away.

Oh boy, I'm not sure I could bare my soul as you've done ... I try and live a very private life and some people I know very well don't really know all that much about me which, is how I like things to be. 😳 Gotta give you credit, opening up like you did must be cathartic in a lot of ways 👊🏻

I always lived a very private life, too. That is one reason I delayed starting a KZread channel, but baring my soul has given me so much self-acceptance. I can be who I am without censoring what I say. It has been freeing and shows me quickly the people I want in my life. I surround myself with people who accept the real me and are nonjudgmental. You just opened yourself up with your comment. Thank you.

Loved your words on Love and Fear, living in either. I’m a divorced dad with 3 amazing daughters that are my life and my ex is doing ALL she can 24/7 to take my daughters out of my life and make her boyfriend new dad, i tried to get my own company running leaving the corporate world but she threw stumbling block after stumbling block so I failed and now trying to get back into the corporate world to be able to pay child support and alimony and I am LIVING IN FEAR! Anger, safeness, depression, missing my angels, fear, frustration, anxiety , self doubt , self hate . I’m hoping and praying to feel what you feel. Thankyou for posting this when I needed it. This randomly popped up in my feed and I’m grateful. I’m in my early 40’s and just so frustrated with life and myself. The ONLY reason I’m still on this earth is my beautiful babies, my daughters, they are my everything and their illegally being kept from me and then losing my amazing mom to a fast advanced brian cancer recently about took me. My Love for my angels is all that’s keeping me rolling and I need to figure out how to find peace and the opposite of what I feel now. I’m getting great direction from random things like this video.

My heart goes out to you! Divorce and losing your kids and your Mom are great hardships. Life is unbelievably cruel at times, but remember that everything is temporary. This will pass, and you will grow and continue to be an amazing Dad. Be kind to yourself during this difficult time in your life! Your children need you to be here for them. You are young, and there is happiness in your future, even though it is hard to see now. You are strong! You will prevail and be a better human being for it!
