well i am planning to homeschool since i work at a school and know what really goes on. i studied to be a teacher and it doesnt feel right to give my best to other kids and not my own. i want my daughter to succeed and be a life long learner. i have seen sooo many children fall through the cracks and teachers are just overloaded with work. AND since children now are very aware of things not age appropriate worries me too much, so i want to be able to give her that strong foundation with our faith involved as well :) and i love planning and teaching so its a win-win lol

Sounds like you have the perfect mindset. I'm not a trained teacher, but I do LOVE to teach and so homeschooling is such a natural fit for our family. All the best! :D

It is interesting that in Russia we do have this homeschooling trend gaining more attention than before. In our system it is called family education. It was not that popular 5 years ago, but nowadays more and more parents are getting involved because our school system is collapsing. It is deadly corrupt and unfriendly to the kids.

Gosh I wish this video was much longer!!! Everything you said resonated with me. My daughter is 15 months and we will be homeschooling her as well. Especially now that Covid-19 has taken over, the days ahead also looks really dark and confusing for the dominant system that exist to educate our kids. I really glad I found your channel. please keep posting! We will all reap the fruit of what we sow in our kids in the future.

Great video, thank you for posting. We homeschool for many reasons, one of them being that we as parents can guide our children versus a stranger (teacher) doing it. We feel closer to our children and vice versa thanks to learning at home. I like how you said it's not a fix all, but in a way it is a major component in the glue to hold a family together-if that makes sense. Happy to have found your channel!

watching you from the Philippines! I am a mother of one child, a boy, currently 2 years old. Planning to homeschool (already starting since I have been putting in quite a routine for us every single day) him because of this whole pandemic going on plus in our place with his age, the farthest he can go is across the street which is a front gate of a school where he cannot really see many things apart from the vehicles passing by. So I am really interested in keeping everything as interesting as I can and also I am watching this video to perhaps see if my conviction right now to have him homeschooled even when things would go back to normal again would be the right thing to do. I am working and so is my husband, but I work from home so I just feel that when it comes to me being slightly protective with his health with all that is going on around us, and also making sure that I can lead him to the right path spiritually (though I may not be the best person to lead him) because I also believe it should start from us his parents. Thankful for these kinds of vlogs that help us somehow decide, confirm and finally act on the steps we need to once we get started. Currently nothing so much in the department stores here we can buy as far as good quality resources in concerned so what I do I spend my "me" times gathering ideas online and doing DIYs to things that I can, but still I feel I need a curriculum for him soon. I do not have much time as most moms do, so as early as now I watch homeschooling mamas like you and so glad I found your channel. Thank you so much for inspiring moms like me.

I know this is an older video but I just watched it and literally every single one of your reasons is one of my reasons too. I felt like you had read my thoughts. Like you, I also have many more reasons for wanting to homeschool, for instance, I love learning and I’m really excited to learn alongside my children. Seeing as how my list of reasons is so like yours, I bet that one is also on your list 😉 Great video, I love your channel.

I was boarded from age 3 right up until I was 20 and leaving College. I did get to spend really precious little time with my family, only 48 hours a week, maybe a couple of hours longer than that, or every other two weekends when I'd moved Schools for Secondary education and Secondary School was an hour further away from home than Primary School had been. It caused me huge, separation anxiety issues, constant homesickness, depression from age 12, which will be with me for the rest of my days probably, we were educated kind of Montesori style in this institutional bubble, so I was actually forced to live away from family but with around 120 other children , students Etc, age between 2 and 19 years, from all walks of life, all with varying degrees of vision impairments, disabilities, special educational needs Etc and I was stuck in that zone until I finished education... just about anywhere, until I could legally leave School, because there has never been the kind of support I needed as a legally blind pupil in either of my Schools. I would have given anything, for any member of my family, especially my mum and Grandparents, to homeSchool me since there were no Schools where we lived which could teach me to read and write, which had very small class sizes of 10 students at the most. Mainstream Schools here in the UK cannot teach braille, cannot handle special needs and learning difficulties unless they bring in specially trained special Educational Needs co-ordinators and learning support assistants to teach the special needs children alongside their sighted classmates, sometimes in separate work rooms, depending on what's happening in the lessons. My Schools were seriously, faith Schools, Christian Schools. There was no getting away from all religeous content. It just wasn't possible. I was baptised C of E Christian when I was 11 months old, when I had no say or no will in the matter. I grew up then, being read children's fairy stories as was the way of teachers in boarding School, of teaching us various chosen passages from the bible, but not the actual, bible except for notable religeous festivals for example, Christmas. In my 30s though, I am afraid, I am Athiest. I'm non-practicing. Religeon is the reason there is so much conflict and sadness in the world today. You only have to look at your phone's lock screen, pick up a newspaper, turn on the pc or Macbook, turn on tv or radio to hear everything about that. My dearest wish would be to turn back the clock so far that I could home School my own children, but they wouldn't live in a bubble. They would associate with children their own age, no matter who they were or which walk of life they haled from, although, I don't approve of very small children cursing or fing and jeffing as we put it in the UK, I don't approve of physical or mental bullying of any kind, so pocket money would be sanctioned and put in a naughty jar if they brake any rules or misbehave, whether its learnt behaviour or not. I wouldn't want my children to take GCSE or O-level or AS/A-level standard exams, but rather the multiple choice keyskills exams which were a vast improvement on my own very poor GCSE grades and I passed the equivalents. I would of course, have to draw together a lot of material on and offline and reading and writing would be quite challenging without tactile letters, numbers, Etc. I don't really have a a money earning, rate paying, business woman head on my shoulders thanks to mental and physical drawbacks which have plagued me for 36 plus years so far, but if I have children, I would definitely, be the affluent home making mum, the stay at home mum who would be there for my children whether I was successful in homeSchooling them or whether I had to go for broke and send them to day School. Never, boarding School after the damage that did for me as a child then as a young woman in College. If my children had to go to School, they would only not, be with me, for 6 hours out of 24 hours a day, so we'd have a good 4 or 5 hours at home when everybody's awake, helping make dinner, wash pots, tidy the house, clean the house, bathing, showering, getting ready for bed. I might even take the children out to a park or to the pictures or freestyle swimming or some other sporting activity, complete with picknic cool bag full of picknic food. That was the best way we spent some evenings when I was in Boarding School, but I did miss my mum seeing me off to bed, tucking me in, reading me the bedtime story or letting me have an audio book on a cassette player read me the bedtime story.

Your words are almost exactly what I couldn’t articulate. Thank you for making this video. One other thing I would add to what you said is the indoctrination in America is intense and having control over what they learn will shape the adult they become.

YES mama bubble wrap those tiny hearts and minds children are such sponges 🧽 we as mothers and as family units need to be the example of standards we want them to have and to live up to and also in that it teaches them to discern what's right and wrong when we give them a strong foundation they can then tell between good and bad things when they go out into the world if we never instill that foundation and send them away especially to public school where there are so many crude and inappropriate things bombarding them they may suffer for it I want to give my child the strengths I wish I had and sanctuary of homeschool is the best way for me to do that hope all this makes sense :) 😃
