Enjoy a good break from KZread. Take your time with your recovery. Persistent injuries suggest that you may have been pushing too hard. I ran a10k race around the Essex countryside in the same murderous heat and was happy with one hour 😊. You always set yourself such high goals. Hope to see you back here, happy and healthy, sooner rather than later. No pressure. Meanwhile take care of yourself, your family and that worthwhile job. All the best 👍

As someone who has started to experience age related running injuries (back!) I've been frustrated but found strength work and yoga to be crucial. Think you need to be easier on yourself. And don't mean to be rude, but I think your 10k, as least partly, went down the pan because you went out way too fast. 1st mile was something like 2secs per mile slower than your 5k pace, and on a very hot day. I think social media runners make us think results come easy, but it's all smoke and mirrors. Nowt comes quick and easy in running

Strength work is something i definitely need to do as my back has been on going over the past 3 yrs. Even cutting a hedge means a sore back the next day. Regarding the race, completely agree about the first mile and the weather conditions, not ideal but adjusted the next few miles to compensate. If it wasn’t for my back going numb I would of finished, my 1st ever DNF. In hindsight I shouldn’t of run. I can’t speak for others but I feel that I’ve always been honest on my channel and told it the way it is. Running is definitely not easy!
