An anonymous hero of the Vanguard has come forward to share their story with the 7 Cities Journalist. A hero with the power of flight who grew up terrified of heights even as their power grew. In time they learned no matter how scared they were of falling, and the heights that they will never fall.
Still even as they learned about this ability they don't immediately share it with the world, because where they grew up being good at something became an obligation to do it.
They learned a great power and they didn't want it to become an obligation. Responsibility comes with power, but responsibility doesn't mean all of it. So as our young hero learned that they will never fall they decided that it was better for them to seek freedom elsewhere instead of letting their power become obligation. That did not stop them from being a hero, nor does it stop them from sharing their story.
They see so many other young heroes, who's power became an obligation and they want the world to enjoy justice and freedom. So that heroes could soar again, rather than fall into endless responsibility.
