Why I Don’t Do Customer Work!! The Snowball Effect! Mopar Muscle Car Disaster!
I took on a quick tune up and transmission seal job in trade for some abandoned cars and parts. And typical of any old car project, it snowballed into way more work than I had expected! This car isn’t currently available for purchase as it’s not my car. As always, thanks for watching!

I notice the concrete you had poured out front is missing now. Good call to go backwards and have it removed since people said your make too much money after adding a approach and a sign you bought for $75. Shop add ons like a longer approach and having $75 signs is a totally unobtainable goal that 99% of car guys could never accomplish in fourteen decades. Smart choice to spend even more money to rip it out and make it look like exactly it was before...
Regarding the Thermo-"bog"...Edelbrock was a marketing genius when they figured out how to rebrand an old 600-cfm Carter AFB and then convince so many dummies to remove 750cfm Qjets and 800cfm Thermoquads, just so that those geniuses wouldn't have to crack open a factory service manual and make themselves understand some simple adjustment instructions. In fact, those instructions are SO DIFFICULT, you might have to take a drill bit and see if it fits between two pieces of the carb. Nevermind that slapping on the Pla-Skool carb probably took away 35hp immediately, required a spacer and probably got the throttle rod linkage geometry wrong. I rebuild Mopar carburetors, starters and alternators strictly by the book and they work like the day they were new.
HEY! Good Mortske Morning to everybody!!
I love how him and puddin always put something funny about each other in their videos lol true friendship is hard to find.
As a business owner, pleasing everyone is very difficult but pissing them off is a piece of cake. Good job on being thorough and honest.
Mostly old parts and rust - met a feller fishing who was retired from Chrysler Sterling stamping, when I mentioned "typical rust" on my Mopar he got a chuckle, said they come from the factory with rust, they use rusty metal to start with. The entire history of automobiles is intertwined with rust abatement technology.
You need to put that 1481 Edelbrock throttle adapter back on and find a Torqueflight guy that can help you with that kickdown linkage, it needs to be on there, engineered correctly and adjusted correctly or the car owner will be rebuilding that transmission again shortly! VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!
Ugh, what project doesn’t snowball, even your own?
Happy Monday everyone, thanks to mortske for making Mondays tolerable 🤘
It needs that stuff you referred to as kickdown linkage that is not what it's called but it needs it to have the transmission work and shift properly without it it will damage the transmission just trying to help😊😊
Miss the guy driving the lawn mower and trailer your comments as he went by lol 😂

Gotta make sure you hook that kick down up that destroys 727s
Did my heart good seeing the Duff Dog on todays video introduction riding in the cab with Mortske.
Right off the bat I am diggin' that blue paint.....
Not a Mopar Guy but you made this a learning experience for getting older rides right. you gotta do the details down to fuel tank, Sparks, Carbs, wiring, grounds etc etc. Details make it right. Thanks Mortske, Dennis
ANOTHER MOPAR Mortske Monday!!!
I can't believe someone asked you if you were going to get a seatbelt for the Duff Dog. Most dogs prefer pickup box for maximum smell-o-vision.
Total respect Mortske for doing that job. So easy for the repair to get out of hand. Thumbs up.
Great video. This is just like my Mom and Dads if it had the white vinyl top on the back of it. It had the 383 Magnum. And it was a bench seat car that was actually one of the fastest in our area. that is back in 1976 through 1978. Thanks for sharing. It made me miss Mom and Dad who are no longer with us. Kerry
