Why I Can’t Stop Playing Warframe

Ойындар

I have tried Warframe for the first time, and with my Destiny 2 chains behind me, I now have fallen deep into the Warframe Tenno lifestyle and I am loving it. Warframe is a free to play, action rpg released in 2013.

As a 10 year veteran, I can honestly say that the grind really isn't that bad as long as you don't grind for the same thing in one sitting. It's much better to grind for multiple things but bit by bit. Like do this mission max 3 times, than that mission max 3 timee, do a little bit of that too. And if you can passively grind for something, than do it. There is no rush in getting what you want, all it does is making you tired of the game, which you don't want to happen. I myself used to grind very hard and all which got me burned out for a long time. It's also much better if you pkay around with different load outs each time

I'm only MR 3 and it took me a 3 hour session max to craft multiple MUST HAVE characters. The only gripe I have is being locked off to 96% of the weapons but being able to fully craft any character I want (primes included). It's just kinda odd and a lot of the weapons that have high MR requirements aren't even that good. Like I can run around with wisp prime at MR 3 but can't have the Acceltra until MR 8 lol.

Second dream only was so good because suddenly several missing puzzle pieces revealed integral parts of the story. The Lotus who was believed to be a mere screen image until then appears in flesh and blood for the first time. Then the character creation after some of us already spent hundreds of hours in the game! The superb musical score. Yeah, it was a mindblowing experience then back in the days. But now for new people rushing the game? I doubt it. The Rell quest is good. The rest of the storytelling in Warframe is lackluster and relies heavily on unreliable narration, information hiding and worst of all multiverse shenanigans.

As a new player you don't need to feel rushed to catch up to the vets. This game is old and still has everything that it started with minus a few redundant features. Getting help from the community is easy as there are alot of people willing to help out new players, just dont let someone carry you as it will leave you bored. I would also recommend joining a clan as there are alot of items only available in clan dojos. Its easy to get overwhelmed by everything available to do so I recommend focusing only on one or two aspects at a time, dont worry everything will still be there later. Dont invest too much in normal frames that have a prime version, and you can look in the codex on your ship to see which ones have prime versions. Getting through the second dream questline is probably the biggest milestone of the game and has the largest impact on the game. I'm a near 10 year vet and I can tell you there is no wrong way to play... unless you use the randomizer option in the customization screen.

My advice is this when modding weapons you'll want a damage up and an elemental mod. Mods are better when upgraded despite eating more capacity. And finally every frame and weapon is different, so they'll need subtlety different mods. Also when you get your hands on an Orixan catalyst or reactor. Pop that on something you intend on keeping. There are many who are turned off by crafting time. My advice, don't be. Don't rush craft times. At the point where you now have begun the .5-3 day craft process for an item is the break period wherein you can re-situate and determine what your next goals are and get some pre-work done. This game is only ever as hard as you make it and it rewards setting yourself up by putting extra time in things not immediately related to your goals. Everything builds up your toolbox, regardless of if it's currently related or not. You mentioned you believe grind gets worse in late game. From a person with it since closed beta, I'd argue the opposite. Late game, you have all the tools and all the access. The tool-set and the access determines the difficulty, not the goalpost. Lacking variety in your tools or full access to all avenues to get a job done is what can drive people to hate their lives because they lack the knowledge of the easier paths. Don't feel rushed to get to the end, there is way too much game to this game. It is generally joked that the first 200 hours is a tutorial phase, wherein then you get a proper handle on things. And the majority of us old players will help any task or answer any question, knowing a good portion of the game's systems can be obtuse to people with a less deep background in gaming. IGN: NoLife

Once you get to the "end" you'll find that you will miss the times when things felt obtuse and confusing cause you're geared up for all content and rewards start to feel less exciting. Also it's OK to take breaks and come back cause by the time you do there will be plenty to do and get, there's certainly things that need improving, grinds that need to be phased out or lessened but I think Rebecca has a better understanding about that than Steve, which is exciting for what they can for the game going forward.

One thing you should learn is what mods are your priority in a build because some mods are REALLY bad and a huge waste of time (an example is elemental resistance mods like warm coat for example). It is definitely worth looking up a cheap build for a very basic weapon and seeing what stuff people choose to use in the build since it provides a rough idea of what mods you should upgrade early on. Also if a mod looks really fancy, it is likely from a specific place/mission in the game not just from a random mission/planet so it might require a check on the wiki.

  • @actionwarrior2042

With modding, you mainly focus on one or two things at a time. If there is any room left after, QOL stuff. The list of things to prioritise at the start: - Weapons: Critical chance, critical damage and Status chance (Can be used to tell if a weapon is worth your time atm. Good stats are >=20% and >=2x for a critical weapon with 20% status for a status weapon BEFORE MODDING. If a weapon meets all 3 then you can make it however you want) - Warframes: One or two main abilities then survivability. (I say abilities before survivability because they are what makes the individual warframes unique. Otherwise we would all use inaros, grendal or hildryn as they have the highest EHP in the game, despite inaros requiring a rework) Anything can be good depending on how much you invest into it. As long as you focus on the outline above then you can't go too wrong. More details are only necessary later in the game once you start getting into steel path (hard star chart). Couple bonuses are: - The status effects are more important than their damage bonuses - Primes aren't generally that much better than the base model. They come with more polarities (symbols in the top right of some slots) and some higher base stats (only survivability in warframes) - Using sites like overframe and looking at youtube videos can be great, they can sometimes get ahead of themselves. - The most important thing is that you have fun!

AS a player that has picked up the game back when it released and playing on since then your perspective on the gmae is very bare and yet full of insights. I wish DE would capitalize more off of perspectives like yours. The game is in a massive need of some sort of streamlining process. Making things more available and WAY faster. The mid-game is where this game really shines. When you are about the 15-25 Frame range I'd say. You got the hang of the game, you can move fairly quickly and finished some of the major grinds in the game already. But not yet hit steelpath or quite understood how amps work and how you get them. Thats when I had the most fun. I was hooked and very interested in all of the different things but also had a significant backlog of stuff I could be "proud" of already. And I feel like that players should reach this point more quickly... like instead of multiple weeks if not months to reach that it should be comfortable reachable within 2-3 weeks max. There is no reason at all that weapons for example still take 12h to finish or frame to take about 4 days~ with the parts included. Those are the major pain points for beginners. About your concerns with platinum and the market you ve expressed in the end of your video. Do not over emphasize this part. Later on in the game there is plenty to do to grind out platinum. Those farms reach from slow but steady to fast but volatile. I myself sit on about 40000 Platinum right now just from rolling some Riven Mods every week. The game is very good at rewarding your long term. But nowadays I feel like Generation "tiktok" does not have the mental capacity anymore to be "excited" for something and grind towards bigger goals. They need constant dopamine input and flickering lights.... I just wrote down what my thoughts immediately after watching your video were. I apologize for the lack of structure :D Good sht, keep it up, Tenno! :clem:

Great introspective as a new player. I think the biggest obstacle for new players is just the quantity of stuff in the game. Theres so much to get done just to interact with the full story of what makes warframe worth playing. For example (without spoilers) you gotta grind out things on an open world, or a syndicate, or just clearing the star map for essentially new game+ where most of the players are. The journey IS fun but for some people but for a lot of people its like a 50 hour long demo. Once you have like 50 hours into the game you can take it slow but but its nonetheless an inescapable barrier. Anyway you mentioned that you were just using auto install for mods, dunno if you stopped doing that but for a new player you mainly just want to increase your warframes survivability - health (vitality) and shields (redirection). For weapons just slap on damage (serration/point blank/hornet strike/pressure point for rifle/shotgun/pistol/melee respectively) You'll be pretty limited on modding space so just focus on these for now. When you get Orokin catalysts and reactors it doubles your modding capacity for whatever you install it on. These are not exactly easy to come by for a new player so id suggest some discretion on how you use them at the start. If you want to make the grinds more efficient Nekros is a frame you'll want to farm. He can essentially reroll enemy loot tables allowing for faster material collections. And if you dont want to get nekros thats fine too. Later on there are specific nodes that have increased drop rates and people quite often go there to farm, so the likelihood of seeing a nekros (or other frames that can manipulate drop tables) is pretty high. -Do the duviri paradox stuff as you see fit. It takes maybe like 2-3 hours a week to get through all of it. -Warframes does have a battlepass, but its free for everyone without a premium version. Its just all free, with rather good rewards. Battlepasses usually last for quite a while and iirc you dont need to do EVERY challenge that comes your way. Lets say one week you only did half of the challenges and the following week you do all of them. Once you do all of the challenges you start recovering ones you skipped, so it really is just super chill. This is off the top of my head but usually if you do complete a weeks worth of challenges you get 3-4 levels of the battlepass, which is only 30 levels. After 30 you get a reoccurring reward of currency every level which you might think is worthless but you can directly purchase orokin catalysts AND orokin reactors (as well as other stuff) with the currency. -We're bound to get an event called Operation Plague Star on the 7th. You want to pick up 10 Exodia Contagions (these are useful for later content). After that grab some cetus wisps's. These things are honestly so annoying to farm. Most of the time when you're grinding out bounties you'll get quite a bit of them, but just grab like 10-15 for now. The real reward here though is Forma. So you know how I said you'll be limited on mod space? Forma is how we fix that. Mods have polarities and a capacity. Serration, unranked, has a 4V (the proper name for this is madurai but most people call this the V polarity) on the upper right of the mod. Something like Hellfire has a 6- (this is called naramon but most people call it dash). When you rank mods up they get stronger but also cost more capacity. Logically you must already be thinking "Okay so a weapons max rank is 30, so thats 30 capacity. And an orokin catalyst doubles that to 60 but If i have a couple mods that cost 11-15 capacity how am I filling all 8 slots of the weapon?" and the answer is forma. Once you install a forma (done through the action button on the lower part of the modding screen) you'll be prompted to add a polarity into a slot, and by clicking repeatedly you can cycle through the polarities. If you added a V polarity and then placed serration into that slot you will notice the capacity serration takes up is now cut in half. If you looked at your volt it should have a Dash and V already with another V in the aura slot. Auras are a whole other thing that would take another paragraph to explain. Anyway, some weapons and frames already come with polarities so modding them is relatively simple. Other times you might be wanting to change the polarities completely to better fit your build. This is all to say that forma is pretty important. While this event is nice to get forma there are other ways as well so theres no real FOMO here. Its just nice to get a couple for now while also participating in an event. Honestly my mind is kinda fried as its pretty early. IF you, or any other new player reading this, wants help send me a friend request in game. My ign is Spellbinding. I completely understand if you dont want to play with veterans because lets be honest we're all at the point where we can press two buttons and nuke the map. But yknow if you want to just get those defense/excavation missons done for your starchart, or want to go farm some argon (I HATE ARGON RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA) let me know.

Welcome to the Warframe community! Great video you put out here! Just remember that it's ok to give the game 2 weeks to 2 months breaks in between grinds if you ever feel like you're getting burned out by it. Doesn't make it a bad game. I've been playing since 2013 on and off, and I've never once not had it installed on my PC. I always enjoy going back and catching up on new content.

There are 3 main things that Warframe does strictly better than Destiny 2 1) Player ekspression In warframe you can, as you show, customize your warframe in a multitude of ways. But that is not all. You have your personal area, your ship, that you can recolor and decorate. These areas grow as you progress and you even get a few more different areas to decorate if you are into that. Your pets can also be customized with skins, color and dodads. Even your UI can be customized with various themes. And then we have Dojo. Clan hangouts that you can build in unison and they can get crazy elaborate. The big drawback to all this is that most of the cosmetics and decorations come from the platinum (real money) market. I personally think this is fair in a F2P game but I am sure there are good reasons why I might be wrong. Another part of player ekspression is that you get to make dialogue choices at certain points in the story. They are few and far between and they are largely without consequence but they give you a feeling of agency even if the agency is entirely fake. 2) Personal Story The story in D2 is about other people doing their thing. Your character is a piece of card-board unconcerned with what happens around them. The moral dilemmas that informs the actions of other people are non-existent for the player character. You may have your head-canon about your character but the game is not interested. In Warframe the story (when it gets started) is about you. You may not be the center of every story but you are directly involved. You don't feel like a bistander that could or should be replaced with anyone else. Your character makes important decisions and mistakes. You are the one learning about your history and the history that molded you. It does this even to a fault, where the only time we see signs of a community of Tenno is when we interact with an outcast off said community. 3) Power Fantasy In D2 you are essentially a dude with a gun with powers. You powers are not central, your gun is. It even snakes itself into the story and lore. Some of the most celebrated stories in the lore are the backstory to weapons you have. The connection between you and a major character that allows you to save him is a shotgun. Bosses are made into weapons that become legend. But it is not you who is powerful. It is your gun. Over the past few years it has gotten better but more often than not they will reign in abilities if they become more powerful than your gun. Warframe on the other hand relishes the opportunity to let you be overpowered. Be faster, be stronger, be tougher. Only in the most extreme cases do they reign it in and then often reluctantly. Not only that but you can choose how you want to be powerful. The wide array of warframes and weapons that themselves can be modified lends itself to plethora of playstyles; stealth, gunner, swordsman, berzerker, spellcaster, defender, healer, sniper and more. Pick a theme and chances are you can build it. Some of them even come ready made.

Modding is probably the biggest barrier to entry (besides gear slots). But I think it has a satisfying learning curve from: "not having any clue wtf you're doing" to "being able to tune all of your gear to exactly the way you like while still being able to vaporize practically anything" You're constantly learning the modding system and get better and better at it over time. I'm still learning new stuff after 6+ years of playing near constantly. *But* watching modding guides is basically mandatory. The mid game is the best. When you're strong enough to do whatever you want and haven't fully completed anything so you can kindof just do pretty much anything you feel like doing and be making progress. Late game is basically when you've done everything you enjoy and the only stuff left is what you don't. and early game is kindof a slog because you're locked out of most of the game and don't know what you should be doing.

As someone who joined during the pandemic, A lot of quality improvements have been shown up over the years. And the developers have dev streams on a consistent basis. Even on Twitch, they have a drop system in place that for a certain amount of time that you watch, you get free goodies, some are decorations, but others are fully built frames, and slots to have them in your inventory. Also, some of the more powerful weapons and frames, the prime variants specifically, they can be rotated or "Vaulted" Ingame and you can't access them anymore. HOWEVER, they had introduced the "Prime Resurgence" back in 2021, and it has been a mainstay since 2022 and every month, you can get Vaulted relics for two frames and their weapon sets.

Hi, I'm a closed beta player with almost 2500 hours. Welcome to Warframe! I hope more D2 players like you see that there's a great alternative to that game. I feel like Warframe doesn't get the recognition it deserves. It's the game that every live service game wishes it could be. You're doing good so far. Keep unlocking nodes and doing the quests. The wiki is a good resource to use but be careful not to spoil yourself. Looking forward to your next update with the game.

First off, welcome new tenno. Always cool to see newbies running around. If you like the game then you have so much to look forward to as you progress through the star chart and get new quests and frames and weapons. When you get to the second dream and the war within quests is where it gets really spicy. Wont spoil anything for you but i am a 6 year veteran of warframe and i still love it to this day. Some things to go ahead and learn as you begin to progress. First is basic modding. You will eventually hit a gate where not knowing how to make basic builds will begin making the game harder. Not saying you learn every single detail as the modding system is quite deep and you will get lost if you go to deep to fast , but a basic understanding of mods will really help. The other thing i would say to learn as a new player is really drive home learning movement. In warframe speed is life and its fun, so really learn that movement. Another piece of advice i would give is stay away from the open worlds until you are a midgame player. The open worlds are new player friendly but they are built for mid and late game players. There is stuff you simply cant do until you are mid game because you dont have the tools necessary. Again welcome to the tenno family, and if you got questions or need help literally just reach out in game chats or forums or whatever and most people will help you. Warframes community is great.

Also you can use your archwing (jetpack) to fly out of it if you want, the maps are much bigger too. Also developers made sure to make it much easier to obtain (I'm pointing that 'cause before it was a nightmare to grind for it xD), so all you have to do is to complete quest and you're pretty good to go✌️

Welcome to the party! Warframe is an immensely fun game when you find things to do or try out. You also posted at a great time too since Plague star is coming around. Never can have too much forma. I hope you enjoy and pace yourself. As a vet of the game, I would farm other things as a break from your main farm. Farming for relics? Maybe you wanna farm for some rubedo or polymer bundles. Farming for base frames? Farm for endo and crack open relics for traces (maybe snag a couple of forma bps) There's so much you can do and it's overwhelming at first. You start to get it after you've mostly completed the starchart.

  • @dnl4295

And as you can tell by now, the Warframe community is always online to support Warframe video reviews and welcome everyone to the game. One big plus for new players is the fact that you will never be forced into random stat allocation in order to play the game. Every Warframe and arsenal (weapons+), will always have the same base stat, so you will never need to craft the same item several times in hopes to get the optimized version of it.

I came back to Warframe on a brand new account about a month ago because of the Prime Resurgence Event where I knew I could grab two of the frames I knew I would want from my time playing it 6 years ago. I played off and on for about a year back then but there were things I think perhaps I thought were too daunting or obtuse at the time to do so I moved on. I'm SO GLAD I came back because I have been having so much fun again, and in just a few weeks time I've accomplished more than I did for the duration of my previous time playing. I think my advice to you (if you're still playing, I'm writing this 4 months later) is don't worry about if something seems daunting just try it and see, or look up one video on the subject you want to tackle and then maybe try doing it shortly after. You mentioned the mods for instance - mods are SUPER important. I think you've discovered by now that you're not gonna get very far without them.

As a Warframe veteran with nearly 4k hours over the course of the last few years (shocked myself just now), the most glaring fault I could see is thus: Level up your mods! Low level mods have barely noticeable effects compared to their fully upgraded contemporaries which can provide massive boosts such as +200% damage I recommend focusing on the essentials like Damage, Multishot, Critical Chance/Status Chance (*usually* depending on which is higher), HP, Shields and Energy It is almost always better to use one fully upgraded mod dedicated to a single stat than to use several low level mods just to fill out the slots - that's where reactors/catalysts and Forma come into play later on Bonus tip: Warframes have a special mod slot for so called "Aura Mods" which instead of taking up capacity actually *increase* it; these can be earned by trading in Nightwave Credits earned from Nora Night Hope that helps!

I love the beginning, when u stop talking mid sentence and the cut scene plays. Really catches a feeling I can totally agree to! And I love your recommendation how to approach the game as a new player. Because, yes, it can be absollutly overwhelming but just sticking to the path ( like doing what the game tell you to do, doing some quests, farming some easy to farm stuff like recoursses) makes learning the game so much easier than what I see with some new player who try to kinda rush and get the best stuff or finish the star chart as soon as possible. Because focusing to hard on getting one thing done in this game can burn you out way too easily. And for those people who hear everyone talking about how improtant mods are and that it is all about mods: In the beginning it isn't. Start slowly, does as he says and just press auto fill because that does improve you weapons a little bit and focus on getting used to the game. When you are a bit more used to the game, try some mods out, read what they do and pay attention to the weapons stats. Then, when you feel like you want more or you need more look some modding tips up but be aware, that most people don't know all about modding, even they say they do. Get some recomendation and how the mod system works and then just try out what fits you gamestyle

Yeah good decision, this game is awesome and the Story really hitted me after Second Dream. The only downside is that you need a wiki to play this game, but the overall vibe of the game is just phenomenal and definitely the best Sci Fi MMO out there. My tips are to switch Weapons to get the mastery rank ups way faster and go the main path, that the game is telling you. Do not grind on things you don't need and only grind if you want it. Also take yourself challenges and explore the game mechanics to make your experience more flashed out. I have almost 200 Hours in this game and it still feels fresh in some cases. I never played an MMO before between, but I guess it is the best Free To Play MMO out there. Keep it up!

I have over 3000 hours in, and it's really fun to watch new people get in and experience it for themselves. Yes, new player experience is basically the exact same questline as it was since it was introduced in the first place, with the only difference being that incredible intro cutscene, and starting mission being modified with new environment and tying it in with the cutscene. Events and plot in this mission are the exact same as they were. Something that's also unique to warframe, is that nearly all maps are proceduraly generated. Every time you replay a node you did previously, the rooms and environments will be shuffled in a different way. They connect to each other like lego pieces, so that every time game generates something different. During missions layout and type of enemies is also different, and various events can happen mid-mission. Sometimes there are even hunter kind of enemies that will stalk you in regular missions, interrupting your objective and trying to kill or kidnap you. After a while it does get repetetive, but due to sheer amount of events that can happen in one mission it's not as bad as in other similar games. It's deffinitely a perfect game to listen to podcasts while playing or turning your brain off in some power fantasy :)

I'm a 4yr player myself. It can seem very overwhelming at times with the grind. BUT, there's so many things that you can build with each mastery rank that you can stagger building and just constantly play without realistic burnout. Just pacing yourself and play to your personal likes and styles. . .you won't burnout like many say. I'm level capped and still not burnt out in any way. The game is so fluid with its movement mechanics, fun with customizing not just appearances but the functionality of your gear, and gives so many options across 53 frames and tons of weapons to truly synergize your preferential play style. It's a great game to really just dive in and have fun with!

So I was introduced to warframe 3 years ago. Then the guy that got me into it stopped playing, so that was cool. I feel you are correct in that the game does a good job giving you a solid tutorial of the mechanics of the game, though they could go a little more in depth regarding mods. What they game is terrible at, is guiding new players in a direction of any kind. I found out a lot by watching youtube guides, which if I am being honest, without that I might not have stuck around. The story is so rich, and the cinematics are works of art. The energy that goes into this completely free game is way more than you see in most games these days. And the best part for a player like me is that I can burn myself out, not play it for several months, and just come back right where I left off. There is no "you have to be current on this or you will suffer". It may not be my most played game, but it is definitely one of my favorites. My advice to you is to make sure you find a clan that has a lot if not all the blueprints researched. There are 5 warframes you can get from the clan dojo and hundreds of weapons. Welcome to Warframe Tenno!

Not a long time vet, only a a few years or so. The first tip that I read somewhere has paid dividends for me and that is to loot EVERYTHING when you're playing the missions and just starting out. There are definitely chokepoint materials that require special effort, but the bulk will just be passively stacked up if you make sure to hit every box you find. The other thing I cannot recommend more would be to make sure you're doing as much of the nightfall daily/weeklies that you can (It's the sort of battlepass type thing you can access from bottom right corner on pause menu or from the terminal on your ship). There are usually one or two weapon/warframe slots as rewards as well cosmetics, blueprints, etc that are pretty sweet. I quit D2 for Warframe years ago and the biggest thing for me is that this game respects your time so much more than other live service type games. Yes it can be super grindy for sure, but when you need a break you can take on without feeling like you'll be completely lost if/when you come back. Prime warframes cycle through constantly, many of the nightfall rewards cycle back through and there isn't really any FOMO to speak of. Glad to see you're having fun, welcome to the game!

Imo, The most fun element outside of fashionframe is theory crafting/modding. Picking up a new frame and messing with mods/looking at different builds is super fun. I have a few clan members that wrote off this one Warframe, so i built it and started testing different mods with it. Then i found a combination that absolutely shreds. They thought i was joking til i started getting all the kills in missions, then they all started using that frame. Getting people to play with also makes the game extremely enjoyable because everyone has different things they are working on. For example, you might be focused on getting prime Warframes, while your clan mate is focused on Kubrow farming. You'll be able to teach each other different things you've learned and vise versa.

As a former D2 player myself, I feel you, I quit when CRAPFALL was released and just like many other players, I needed a different game to cure my interplanetary looter shooter itch, so I decided to try Warframe, and boy oh boy, I got hooked, I do not miss anything from Destiny at all. The one thing I love the most about Warframe is that it respects your time as a player, you see, I started playing during the spring of last year and played till early fall, I paused the game to focus on Lies of P and some other games, I resumed about a month ago and the builds that I made last year were strong as they were back then, meanwhile in D2 you need to grind your ass week after week to keep up with the rest, or you'd be left behind, that is such a BS tactic from Bungie just trying to keep the player engaged with their game. Every time there's a new season your builds become irrelevant and you need to start from scratch, I say F that, I have a life, Bungie can stick their stupid game up their dark sector... Digital Extreme is such an efficient studio, they've done everything Bungie could not even though they are just a 3rd of the size of Bungie: 1- A single game with 12 years worth of content 2-A gazillion different classes 3-Infinite MODS that won't go irrelevant 4-Instead of vaulting content they remastered it 5-An extremely good new user experience 6-So many gameplay mechanics 7-ABSOLUTELY FREE I can go on but you get the picture.

It is always fun to listen a new Warframe players expirience. Welcome to the game. I am genuinely surprised that you liked "tutorial" part. I mean I know from patchnotes that devs almost every update try to improve new player expirience but considering that I started playing when there was literally zero tutorial apart from first basic controls mission and the "new player expirience" meme in Warframe community it is pretty weird to hear. It means that devs did a pretty good job.

theres a little pay to skip, but most of what i've personally spent money on is weapon/warframe slots. you mostly hit this problem once your collection of weapons you like surpasses the free slots you get from ranking up. its not *too* expensive, and platinum, the in game premium currency, can be traded for from other players (even a new player can farm things that have value, void relics are a good place to start). 2000+ hours in game, feel free to ask anything about game mechanics, weapons, or general game knowledge. vast majority of WF community will be helpful, the game is massive and every one of its players has needed help at one point or another.

I played warframe years ago for the first time and had a decent enough time with it then but I eventually gravitated towards destiny. Played Destiny for the next like 6 years after that and I got to a point where I was so sick of the gameplay loop of destiny and how LITTLE it respected your time, that I made the decision to uninstall it once and for all after over 6000 hours in the game. Recently got back into warframe due to a friends recommendation and I'm honestly amazed at the sheer amount of content, the fact that next to nothing has really been removed since release (looking at you sunsetting) and at just how much fun the game is. The grind can be tough and even annoying at times, but its so rewarding when you finally craft that frame you've been working towards, or when you finally get all the parts for that prime weapon you've been hunting. I'm sitting at around 1000 hours in warframe right now and I can easily see that number increasing pretty quickly over the next few years. At this point its the only live service game I play other than the occasional game of league with my friends, or CoD when I want a more typical shooter experience, and I have 0 complaints. Maybe I'll go back to Destiny when the new expansion drops, and if they end up fixing some of its glaring issues, but this is definitely my preferred looter shooter these days.

I can't put into words the amazing story that was the whole "New war" storyline. I've been playing for years but I would recommend if your a new player trying to do all of those quests some what consecutively because they all tie into each other and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had in gaming.

I’m a founder from the initial release of the game. Out of ANY of the plethora of games I’ve played, Warframe has been near and dear to my heart as something I could always return to for more and more content. More lore, more attachment, more understanding of the world, more and more and more content. Behavior may get shit sometimes from the player base, but it will always have an incredibly special place in my heart

I've been playing for many years now on and off. Honestly for the early game, I'd definitely say focus on getting a few things unlocked, and then doing some of the story stuff, since it'll ease you into the setting, unlock features, and give you goals. For the later game once you've played a lot, the main thing is to set your own personal goals. Don't be afraid to look up videos, check out forums, and become very acquainted with the wiki, to find things that interest you and give you something you want to work towards. There is a lot of content in the game, particularly for newer players, so just setting small goals here and there helps keep you from getting overwhelmed. I will say that there are downsides to the game for sure. it is definitely grindy, particularly for getting some of the rarer weapons and frames, as well as some of the resources you need in bulk. It's managable because the gameplay itself is so good, but it can be taxing. If the grind gets to be too much, take a break to do something else. Go spear fishing on one of the open worlds or even just hang out and talk to people in chats. My personal favorite for killing time is playing around with the shawzins, which are fully playable guitar like instruments you can buy in the store. On that note, it's worth mentioning that the premium currency for the game, platinum, can be traded between players. As such, it's entirely possible to get pretty much anything in the game aside from a small selection of exclusive items while retaining free to play status. There is a market tab in the chat menus that is entirely for talking with other players to broker deals for items, and most of the time those deals use platinum as the currency unless you have something you're offering up in trade. Prime parts, (obtained from opening relics), and particularly rare mods are the main things you'll see people buying and selling, so it's always an option to open up a few relics and see if anyone is willing to buy the parts you get out of them for a few platinum. You won't make a ton per sale, but it can add up to be enough to let you buy stuff from the shop. Speaking of which, it's worth noting that there are some shop exclusive items, but they are all purely either cosmetic, decorative, or just to goof off with such as the shawzins I mentioned. Everything you can buy in the shop that has a practical use can be obtained through playing the game in some way or form. Some of them are particularly rare or limited, but you can get them. There's also a fair few items that can only be obtained by playing the game and can't be bought in the shop. Above all else though with the game, don't be afraid to take a break every now and then. Don't let the fear of missing out keep you from taking a break if you're getting burned out. With only a couple of exceptions, everything that is missable comes back eventually. For me personally, I'll usually come back to the game two or three times a year, play for a good while, then take a break to play other stuff and not come back for a couple of months. It's very much a game to take at your own pace.

I've got a good bit of Warframe content to catch up on, which I'm very excited to get to at some point down the road. Recently I've remembered how great the game customisation is when I found another use for my warframe clan logo.Once you design a clan logo, you can spend a small amount of platinum (the premium currency) to have it added into the game. When we designed our clan logo, we tried to make it recognisable from the outline and easily distinguishable in game. This has made it a really good design to use in other ways, and I've adopted it as a kind of personal seal.
