Just fyi, the difference in that WRX you drove initially and the STI is way more than hydraulic steering and a wing. The STI has the EJ257 motor while the WRX is an FA20 with direct injection (originally debuted in the BRZ/FRS). Two completely different motors. I believe that the WRX also does not have DCCD. Congratulations on the car!! I have a 2015 STI limited, and it's such a pure and visceral driving experience. I'd recommend following Josh Bader on his BaderBuilt channel to learn what your car is capable of, or if you're looking to do a build in the future. Also, first mod recommendation - IAG Air Oil Separator. Have fun!!

@@Michael-nv4jmI did a little, but some people just don't know. A little research and education goes a long way especially when you're putting out $40k+. I love the platform and it's been my dream car since I was 12. $13k left to pay it off, then 750whp build coming. Trying to share the love. This platform will be the best of the last, so if you've got one, hold onto it!!

@@johncoxisme Agreed. Unfortunately refinement will win over mechanical feel. Undoubtedly the next STI will be direct injection, DCT, and have a power steering rack.

@@Michael-nv4jm You are 💯 right.... the manual transmission alone is all but dead, and when you look at the instant torque and power you get from an EV (think Tesla Plaid), the days are numbered for the 4 cylinder turbos. But people are already paying a premium to row their own gears... just look at the demand for a 6 speed in the 2021 Porsche 911 GT3... it's slower than the 7-speed dual clutch automatic, but the driving experience is just not the same (and buyers are paying MORE). That's why I predict these STI's will continue to hold and even gain value. Driving experience of hydraulic steering, manual only, DCCD, torque vectoring with a low center of gravity horizontal 4 and that blessed 🙌 turbo noise. Yes please 🙏. There's a reason STI (insert golf R, Evo, etc.) owners acknowledge each other like street bikes do. When you know, you know.

Just by watching this video and hearing that rumble, i feel the need to drive my STi lol

STI is arriving in Oct. and already ordering the Q300 exhaust system :) I listen to exhaust reviews with my BOSE headset sometimes to feel/hear the awesome rumble :)

@7:06 - this is why you buy a specific car, 100%. It's the car you want to drive and makes you happy. Recommendations for EJ engines: change oil every 3k miles / 5k KM religiously, high octane fuel only, and please please get an AOS - air oil separator (IAG V3). This will increase the longevity of your EJ engine. Also, if you care more about reliability to sacrifice a bit of the beautiful rumble, switch from the stock unequal length headers to equal length headers - much better for the overall engine life. Enjoy.

Thank you for the advice i did its first oil change at 1k and now im doing it every 3k it’s actually do for one i just hit 4k miles on it probably in the next couple weeks i gotta set up the appointment 🤙🏽

You literally almost drove to my pad , I live off Monterey/country club . Have fun , that car is bullet proof and under warranty. I drive mine hard in the heat , it’s fine

I've got a 2019 mustang gt in a 6 speed with the performance pack but I'm trading it in for a white 2021 sti next month when it gets here. Reason is I want a car that offers superior handling with that all wheel drive and can be thrown in the corners without feeling that extra weight that the mustang has. I'm willing to sacrifice the horsepower for that and I think in the end it will be the better choice for me in the long run 😎

My buddy has a 2020 Mustang with the supercharger installer by the dealer (650 wheel hp). It's great for straight lines and the STI is a completely different experience and more fun for daily driving around bends and curves for sure! Excellent choice and even better if there's snow in your area :)

I agree I’ve had a 19 a 20 and now a 2021. You definitely don’t buy an Sti cause there fast that’s for sure. You buy it cause it’s just fun to drive. But it does get annoying when everyone wants to race you thinking there fast. If you want fast look elsewhere!

You are right by my pad , we should do a video together one day about the STIs

Next year for me will be a really hard decision it’s either a Tesla model 3 performance 0-60 in 3 seconds or a Subaru wrx sti 2022…

@@VelosterRally16_UVexactly, Subaru wrx sti have been my favourite car for years ever since I watched a rally video, my mom owns a Subaru wrx 2016 manual, right now I own a Mitsubishi Lancer limited se manual 2017 as well, after I pay this car off which is in half a year, I’ll be buying a brand new car, my decision is going to either be a Subaru wrx sti 2022 manual or a Tesla model 3 performance, Because if gas I’m going more towards the Tesla, my gf telling me to get a Tesla to but tbh in 3 years I’m going to be owning both cars but in the next year it’s more likely a Tesla…
