Premium bibles I could not afford.

I love that they have "THE WORD OF GOD" instead of "HOLY BIBLE" on the spine. That's very unique and it cuts right to the point. And I love the artwork gilding and the blue letter instead of red.

If I could get one, I would most likely get it with just the art gilding. I would like to get the Lunar Yellow version. That black under gold art gilding looks so cool!

I use the Shepherd myself as my reader. Love the layouts they make and the paper rivals some of the best in my opinion. Blue is a great accent color, as it's close to black in the level of contrast against white paper. I also absolutely love that they use goatskin for the cover and the liner. Whatever they use, it's grainy and stiff enough to be able to hold open these big boys without it flopping like crazy. Still a nice feel in the hand, though.

I’m a Pentecostal pastor. I love a flexible Bible as I’m preaching. Also love the concord layout. I wish every translation offered a classic verse by verse concord-ish layout with center column references.

I have the Lion KJV in ethereal pink and the colour by itself just makes me so happy and makes me want to read scripture! It's an awesome bible :)

i'm so torn! i love the HIStory edition with the extra art pages and size, but i adore the color of the ethereal pink and KJV is my favorite translation. then again, the shepherd version layout is gorgeous with the single column that flows more like a book. it's so hard to pick!!

I got the First Ed. HIStory in red because I wanted the mistakes as a reminder that we humans are very imperfect.

I love my humble lamb Bibles!! They are among my favorites 😁

I agree. A clean text block with subheadings and white space and adequate space between the lines is the most important thing to me because there’s just so much chaos when they try and cram the text into Bibles to make them smaller. I sometimes will choose a translation based on whether the publisher has a clean easy to read text block. This one looks amazing. The legacy standard Bible published by 316 Publishing also has a very clean text block.

I have the Humble Lamb… it’s great

I'm a Humble Lamb addict. Love the color selection and fore edge gilt. The artwork and words of Christ in blue. Every member of my family has a Humble Lamb Kids and grandkids. I have the Lion the Shepherd a couple of first print editions and 3 NASB in Fox Orange on the way. ❤

Their Bibles are stunning. Truly a work of art. In a way, it's good they don't do the ESV. It would make me covet something I can never afford! I love having, "The Word of God", on the spine. Nothing wrong with the classic, "Holy Bible." But sometimes we see a phrase so much that we don't even think about it anymore. This really catches your attention. I'd bet if you got one of those brighter ones, the yellow or orange, and were reading it in public, someone might ask you about it. What a great conversation starter about spiritual matters, especially for those who are shy! I wonder, also, if the blue would be easier on the eyes than the usual red. I would love to see one in person. The artwork inside is beyond gorgeous. My only concern would be, for the illustrations on the gilding, won't that fade or distort after you use it for a long time?

I have both the edge line and paste down. I strongly enjoy the paste down. Something about it just looks way better.

I just preordered the lion refresh edition in the KJV luna yellow. Looking forward to getting it and checking it out.

I have that same HL Lunar Yellow KJV w/Blue letter vs Red is amazing! Have the NKJV Shepherd in Sahara Blue and the Fox Orange NASB20 HIStory coming this month! The Lion sold me on Humble Lamb...my favorite Bibles (and I have Allan, Schuyler, Cambridge, and other premiums)!

I have only recently been introduced to the premium Bible scene. I have a few CBP bibles but recently picked up a Cambridge Topaz KJV in the green GS and absolutely love this Bible! I picked the Topaz because of the new text style being used by Cambridge and the extra room in the margins. It allows me to go through and mark the difficult words and put my own definitions and thoughts. I get more control over the text as well as absolutely loving the new layout and text. I am a red letter guy and Cambridge is second to no one imo with their red letter. I'm not a fan of the lion in the gilting on the Humble Lamb but I love the artwork scattered throughout the text of the Bible! I'm an artist myself so I really appreciate great art. I wasn't a fan of the blue letter HL uses but have become much more open to it since getting into the "scene". This video is really peaking my interest in a HL Bible. I'm wanting a NKJV next but I kind of want to see how they handle the difficult words problem inherent with the KJV text. Decisions, decisions?

Thanks for sharing your perspective around the binding that is so good to know and few address it on this forum. I like how you pointed out the notes re: archaic text to help understand the KJV - would you say it is similar to the Westminster? I have one but to be honest it has a funky chemically smell and and I’m looking for a resource to get into worshipping through the KJV

I would absolutely love to have a Lexham English Bible bound in one of these high quality bindings. Do you know if that would be possible to do or where i could get one made?

The 1985-89 Open Bible is my lost on an island Bible, that or my old Thompson chain. Humble lamb definitely set itself apart , it's nice that they are using thicker leather now. I have the original 3rd printing of the NKJV it's got super dark blue art gilding but the covers a bit thin . That said it's still a cool bible regardless of the thin cover , its very unique . I don't use it though it's basically a talking piece. Probably gonna sale it so I can get a Schuyler or Allan. .... Someday ..LOL Been saying this for a couple years now....someday.

@Vicki H You stopped making videos too. I got burnt out but also had some deaths in the family that were just too much for me. I need to start making vids again , it was fun before it became like a job. I want to just share bible again but cool ones that I find thrift shopping or ebay. I love finding old bibles that are unique , new bibles are getting boring like school text books with no charecter. 😉 Nice to hear from ya sister.

I actually don't have it anymore, but I have taken many Humble Lamb bibles apart, they are made incredibly well, top bindings Ive seen.

This is your expertise. Never stop doing this….unless the Lord has you to stop

What is your opinion of how well the Humble Lamb paste down liner will hold up?

It will hold up will, definitely above grade in quality compared to other Paste down editions.

There are millions of bibles being printed clandestinely in China for the persecuted church. Having our English bibles printed in China likely creates and open door and a cover for the secret printing.

@Guy Montag I'm using a Lockman NASB2020 wide margin reference. I opted for the bonded leather just so I have a copy to check the text. I love the text, DK layout is awesome! but I'm not thrilled with the binding. It's the spine. It's too flopy. I did just order a "seconds" Lion paste over. Only $77 on HL site. Red was available, and no yellow were left in seconds.

32 GSM is still great, though I wish they would have made their premium Bibles with 36 GSM paper instead.

strange way to look at the KJV. the KJV is kings english it is so easy to preach from. we are preaching the Kings message. preachers are heralds of the king.

I just wish they weren’t made in China 😕
