I agree the newer schleich models are really weird and lots of them the paint job is terrible, so that’s why I buy discontinued schleich horses.

I totally agree, I love the Schliech horses and I have a big-ish collection but lately they have really been disappointing all of us lately because they are getting the proportions wrong and have been making it extra girly which is really annoying for us who genuinely love horses.

My mom bought me some Schleich off Zulily and I was so excited that she ordered a paint! I love paint horses so I ripped open the packaging and got her out. She had pink flowers in her hair, looked like she was half Arabian, and had the body of a hotdog-_- I have had Schleich since I was two and they have never failed me that hard-_- (I feel like 50 of these-_-)

I totally agree with them adding super unrealistic details. I have a friesian model and I LOVE her mold and her color, her face, etc. She's so cute but they ruined her with this bright red ribbon in her mane and tail. I'm considering cutting it off btw it's only along the top and considering resculpting a little. Its SO frustrating

I agree with you on the quality of the realism on their more recent models. The eyes look...squinty, the proportions are out of whack, and the paint jobs leave a lot to be desired. I have a few of the older molds, which I really like (I rescued them from Goodwill), but the newer ones are just...dopey. Even their fantasy pieces are bad. I have some Papo and Safari that I like, but I mainly collect Breyer.

I have gotten a few of the newer horses but I have also seen that the earlier horses was a bit better😅 Some video ideas is: more how to: , short movies of for example: cross country day (kinda rp) If YOU WANT ofc!, where you get the materials, Easter short movie special idk. I completely agree you, schleich have certainly gone downhill. I grew up collecting them but around 2018 they started marketing them towards the younger audience and making them more girly so I switched over to collecting breyers. I still collect some Schleich but only retired models and horses that I do truly like.

I'm glad to hear it isn't just me who has been feeling uneasy about the recently released Schleich brands. Schleich had amazing quality, but lately, as you stated, i have been finding the models to be disproportional and lacking detail. I have been looking into collectA models, and they certainly seem to be much more realistic and detailed. While I understand Schleich's desire to appeal to younger children, it also makes me feel a little disappointed since there are a lot of collectors out there. Maybe Schleich will pick things back up again in the future, but for now I'm happy with my older models and am looking forward to exploring other good-quality brands, though Schleich will always hold a special place in my heart ^^

Collecta’s are nice, they are a little (not much) bigger than schleich. The new 2021 schleich models are AMAZING though and they definitely took a turn for the better! You should look them up. They are STUNNING. Anyway, have a good day!

I live in Australia and a another problem is that it is really hard to find stores that sell schleich.. Most toy shops stop selling schleich bc the pricing has gone up, well thats what has happened to my local toy shops. instead they sell collecta and I don't mind that bc its more realistic now. :)

I agree. I have a lot of retired models that i have had forever, and they r all scratched up now sadly, but the shading was just so beautiful and perfect. They have gotten a lot more lazy.

I have also been noticing the change in quality and it makes me really sad, Collecta horses also seem to be getting slightly less detail, and with thicker legs if you look closely. omg i thought i was the only one thinking that! the quality, the proportions, the painting, the recycled models… it’s just a mess. and that also took me to a point were i’m starting to sell all of them (200+) and who knows, maybe in the future i will collect just the old ones again. but it’s just a big disappointment since i’ve been collecting them since i was a child :(

I very much agree. I started my model horse journey collecting every new horse as they were released but now I just don't get the joy from their newer models. That said, I then went to breyers and now I'm predominantly a resin collector! It scares me what I spend on plastic horses sometimes ngl

I agree with you. I haven’t been into the newer Schleich because of the detail. The Lipizzaner stallion that came out back in 2019 looks like a sausage to me. But I still like all the horses I have now!

Haha April fools 😝 About the recent quality in schleich models, unfortunately I have to say I agree with you. Yes, there are a few “nice” ones here and there, but nothing that really speaks to me like the older ones do. They definitely have been aiming for more ‘kids’ type models, instead of there realistic ones they made before. I have one Collect- A model, and do really like some of them, but they are a different material somewhat than schleich I believe. Ive kinda tried to get more into Breyer, but they are just sometimes harder to get 😅

I am a massive CollectA fan. I only have a couple so far but have been bowled over by the attention to detail and realism. I have been playing around with 1:18th scale and these horses are perfect with the 1:18th action figures. I would show you but I broke my arm and everything is on hold. My idea is making a semi fantasy semi historic trading post with a livery stable and inn and general store and obviously the people and horses and other animals that would be in such a setting. I will upload when I get my cast off and finish up. I have currently got a grey Shire mare and a grey Mustang mare but am going to buy at least 3 more. I presume Schleich is the same size as the normal CollectA horses so have been watching your stable with interest.

The collectA are so much more realistic. Shleich just dosnt even place the eyes right. However Shleich still makes very nice wild animals I think.

i love Schleich, but now i see what you mean the new models do look off. I think i am going to start collecting Collecta horses, they seem better.

I will make a point and hopefully Schleich will take it because its the truth, I was a kid in love with model horses but that didnt make me want model horses that werent realistic. I think if Schleich continues on its course of making models more like My Little Pony than real horses, it will find out the hard way what horse mad young girls and boys really want. And it isnt pink and flowery! But I am sure Josefine will always have a place in her heart for Schleich!

I really want to collect Collecta but their sizes are different aren’t they? If they are the same size as Schleich then I’m definitely getting them haha

I don’t know what happened to schleich! They use to be so good!!! They did muscle details, shading, and overall great models! But now they only focus on kids that play! I still collect schleich, but only the retired models. Collecta is my new favorite!!

I really like the newer schleich models as a toy and fun design, however, I do agree that they should be a bit more realistic. I will continue to collect schleich, however I think I might also check out brands like CollectA and maybe order some second hand older schleich models. I have been collecting schleich since 2017/2018 so I haven't had so much access to older models, but I do have a few.

I have noticed the changes not sure if this is what you where talking about but there legs are different sizes and some of mine I have to have rubber bands around the legs just so they can stand

I agree, schliech has been getting out of hand but I very much still love schliech but I will have to look for better model horse brands because I have not liked the molds, paint jobs, or even the realisticness of them. I don’t think I will keep many of my schliech because of their situation.

I have a collection of shleich horses and they are going down hill abit but I don't complain because I love playing with them and I don't judge that much if I'm just going to have them for decoration too. I do see some odd colors that don't go together and the models are getting funky so I have to agree with you. Over all I think the older ones are the best.

Hey👋. I stopped Collecting Schleich for a little bit but I just started to collect them again. I am considering buying my first CollectA💖.

I once ordered a toymany and none of them could stand.

The drop in quality with the schleich figures is more apparent in their dinosaur figures. As well as their fantasy themed figures. I personally think the horses didn't get it AS BAD as the dinosaur line did.
