I always enjoyed the idea of Din pulling an April Fool's prank on Nayru and Farore by giving the Triforce of Power to Ganondorf but I suppose this does make more sense.

i still think this is true to a degree with OoS showing a possible descendent. I just imagine thats how the actual goddess acts. Like the characters in the oracle games. "but they arnt the same" mah brain dont care lol brain does what its gonna do since i played those first along with Skyward sword on switch. Nintendo should port all of em in one big collection on a cart. even for $100 id buy it.

Since I heard the phrase "divine prank" I can't stop thinking about Din watching the execution and when Ganondorf was about to die she said: "Sike b*tch, check your hand, boi"

Bruh, imagine this... You committed a VERY bad crime and you got sentenced to an execution. The guards are about to fire at you and you say your final words. They fire at you. You literally die. But then, out of nowhere, you come back to life and the guards and the gods are just sitting there laughing at you cause you just got pranked... Then they banish you to a far off prison and there is no escape for the rest of your life (witch just so happens to be extended by 10,000 years). Idk about you but I would be pretty mad 😂

I don't think Ganondorf from BotW is the same as Twilight Princess

OMG I can't believe I never thought of this myself. It fits perfictly with the hero of time having been implied to have died with regrets. He regrets the coming back in time because that is what caused the triforce to split and gave Ganondorf his power.

Adult Link was in possession of the ToC. When Zelda sent him back to his childhood, he took the “ownership” of his Triforce piece with him and so the moment he arrived in the child timeline, the child timeline Triforce of Courage sensed the “ownership” and caused the split to happen without Ganondorf even stepping foot into the sacred realm. of course, Ganondorf was caught and jailed. Ganondorf didn’t even know he had the triforce of power until it activated its divine power and prevented his death

Wrong the triforce he had in the past wasn’t the one from the future because wind waker proved this in wind waker you have to reget the triforce the hero of time in the future originally had wind waker even explained how he lost it now WHAT HAPPENED and makes more sense is the one link has at the end of OOT second ending is the triforce of the past aka the triforce must have been together before link came back in time and broke it this is also how ganondorf regot his piece again

He had earned it and he was supposed to have it, so when he arrived back to his own time, the Triforce instantly split and the other two went to Zelda and Ganon. You can even see at the end of OoT that Link, as a kid, has the Triiforce piece on his hand. Its not a perfect explanation but we can assume the Triforce or whatever entity was controlling it had some knowledge of what happened in the future and so went on to split the thing. No matter what Link having the piece at the end of OoT proves it split somehow, so Zelda and Ganon had their pieces for a long time before losing them. For Link, he had his for so long that it was passed down his bloodline. Funny enough Link and Zelda got their pieces in Adult OoT from Ganondorf's theft of the ToP, so in a roundabout way Ganondorf is still responsible for his own obtaining of the ToP even in other timelines, since the split was caused by Link having the ToC and he had that due to Ganon.

Honestly I don't believe she has the triforce of wisdom. If she's so wise she can escape from ganondorf and all the other bad guys easily. I don't know why link has to help her so much. Or maybe the other zeldas (like tetra) arnt helpless just the ones that we see in the games.

maybe her power of wisdom is not meant literally... remember the goddess of wisdom rather created the laws of physics for the world of Hyrule, like time and space, not bestowing every atom and being with eternal knowledge of everything. Also Zeldas premonition/ visions and telepathic abilities were never crystal clear/ on point, rather always seemed vague. Maybe there is a limit to her powers and abilities to foresee every outcome. Just like with Ganondorf and Link... We will never know why she gave Link his childhood back, disregarding all the suffering this would cause to the world.

@@kretisme That's why unless it's checked female leaders can make things worse and then act surprised when it's not going their dream route or act in defense and blame this or that. Generally the male is always the head of the house hold unless he is a major screw up such as being drunk or his mind is not right the male generally has the clearest mind and can see the most angles. One man One Women. We try to change it and we are only fooling ourselves.

Din, Nayru, and Farore descend down and just go "Ha ha, we got you, losers" and then just leave

A mistake made by Zelda caused all three timelines! While it caused alot of suffering in some places, it also had happy consequenses! Had it not been for sending Link back, he would never have saved Termina. Lorule would never have been restored. Maladus and Vaati would never have been vanquished. Nor would Midna have meet Link or the Rito been born as a species! The Timeline split in three as a result of Zelda's guilt. But through the noble acts and hard work of her decendants and the inherritors of the hero's mantle, Hyrule and many other realms were saved from a dark fate. In time the Triforce was reunited, all three forms of Ganon was finally vanquished. Harmony restored! And so, after millenia, the era that was once one, that had become three, finally became one again!

I feel like there are still plenty of things to talk about in the Zelda lore. It's so rich in mystery and unanswered questions. Some of those questions can be answered by a deeper look into that specific game's story.

I love this! I have seen the three possessors of the TriForce charted across time(s) but by you charting the TriForce itself across times I am convinced you've solved it! Great video! Didn't need to be long.

Oot in a nutshell: you made a mistake, then fixed the mistake and killed off the one who benefited from the mistake.

You and a few others have brought to light a lot things I’ve missed over the years. It’s crazy to see all these little things that add together. Thank you.

Is it possible to argue that the pieces of courage swaped their positions? The one from the "future" stayed on Link's hand and the unused piece from the present was exchanged to the future and would break. This would also lead to the other two pieces from the present to go to their rightful onwers because the courage piece is in this circumstance "in use". At least this could be a thing for "only one courage piece" for one timeline, I think.

Yep. That was one of the easter eggs thrown in the original N64 version of Ocarina of Time. There are more pics in that room; Mario, Peach, Yoshi, and of course, Bowser and Luigi. In the 3DS remake, it was replaced with a recreation of a level from one of the sidescroller Mario games (I forget which game, however.)

Thank You! The "divine prank" has always been an issue with me for the story of Twilight Princess! That little graphical bit explains everything so well.

Here's one to look into. In Zelda 2 we follow the same Link that was in the original Legend of Zelda, but the Zelda isn't the same one. We are told this Zelda has been put in a form of magical stasis/sleep and kept alive for hundreds if not thousands of years (side theory, could the slab she's resting on in the Northern Palace be similar to the chamber in the shrine of resurrection?). We are told that at some point the royal family had control of at least one of the pieces of the Triforce, and Zelda's brother wanted to use the power of the Triforce to rule all of Hyrule, and that he was aided by a dark magician who looks a lot like Agahnim. Their father entrusted Zelda with their families part of the Triforce instead and Zelda hid the Triforce away. In a rage her brother had the dark wizard curse her, but later came to regret his actions and had her enshrined in the Northern Palace. My question is, when does this Zelda's story happen? The tale is told to us in Zelda 2, in the Fallen Timeline, but since her story happens hundreds of years before where abouts does it fit in the timeline?Does it happen before or after the time split? If it happened before how far back into the core timeline do we go? And do it's events have any impact on the other games in the series?

I have played ocarina of time many times and this is the first time i noticed the triforce of courage was still with Link. The last scene i just assumed oh hes passing on a message, but missed the most important part.

the more i think of it, the less i can consider the triforce piece of wisdom as wisdom. the actions of zelda never seem to have been wise.

I feel like Gannondorf was able to call upon the power of the Triforce of Power on his deathbed just because it’s what he can do, and the reason he couldn’t do it at the end of the game is because he bestowed some of that power in Zant who denies access to the full piece, symbolized with his neck snap.

7:48 I think it's instresting to think that of course from the timeline the hero left IF he left and there was still a Triforce of courage left behind that they would of assumed it was simlpy seperated. They don't know he was still connected to the Triforce in the other split of the timeline.

How is child Link sent back to a time before he opens the Door of Time if the door is open and he’s putting the Master Sword back.

Can I bring something up? In Twilight Princess, right before you face King Bulbin for the last time, there is a platform you fight on outside of Hyrule Castle. The platform has Twili symbols on it, but their textures are dark green as if the markings have faded away over time. I wonder if that platform ever served as a portal of some sorts maybe??

It's worth noting, in relation to WW that OOT Zelda would be the only one who knew where OOT Link went after the end of OOT, she probably didn't tell the people of Hyrule that he left the timeline and instead told them that he simply left the land of Hyrule, as a means of maintaining hope within the people of Hyrule that he could return...this leads to him being a legendary hero and thus even eventually gets back to Ganondorf himself, explaining why for once in the whole timeline that Ganondorf is aware of and waiting for Link to return to face him again. This isnt relevant to the video I just thought of it and wanted to point it out. :P

This is exactly why in my opinion, the Hero was still reborn as The Hero of Winds,but due to how his soul was in effect duplicated as was the Triforce piece he carried it caused issues which made the whole incident play out different in the Adult timeline. In the Child Timeline his body still housed his soul, in the Adult his soul was left in the "Wait" phase of his third of the cycle. Essentially he died in one line and then had to wait to be Reborn and Ganon broke free far faster due to this and a emergency need of divine intervention happened.

I'm hearing a lot of excuses for why Ganondorf gets the Triforce instead of the simple idea that he's simply Dins champion. I mean it would make sense. She is the goddess of power and he wields the aspect of power, therefore she's interested in keeping Ganondorf around but not enough to let him win. ;).

This is cool and all, but the reality is that Din saw Ganondorf and said “this would make for the best joke ever.” And he just gave Ganondorf the triforce of power, and Nauru and Farore were like “dude wth man that’s like demise’s great grandson.” It’s like “yeah I know.”

So, the murder of the Water Sage, the escape of Ganon, and the flooding of Hyrule could have all been avoided if Zelda had taken a moment to think before acting? Zelda, the guardian and arbiter of the.... Triforce... Of, um.... Wisdom?

So, funny enough, me being distracted old me, I was looking in the background of the scene at 5:00 and I found a little easter egg of Bowser and Luigi on the window pane 😂

There was a video by Zeltik (forget which one specifically) that analyzed the different kinds of time travel (and their related effects on the world across time) in Skyward Sword. They put forth that there were two primary types seen: 1) those whose effects in the past do not always impact the future and vice versa, and 2) those whose effects DO impact the future/past, despite that in some cases this doesn’t quite make sense - I propose that there are items/powers in the world (even sacred ones) that are more directly linked to higher powers (ie the three golden goddesses and/or Hylia) - this being the 2nd type - and others that are not (being the 1st type of time travel). Things like the Master Sword, Triforce, and instances of Hylia’s power (even in the form of her mortal form, Zelda) are of the 2nd type. TL;DR this would mean that the triforce in the adult timeline can impact the child timeline even where it does not make sense for Link, Zelda, or Ganondorf to have the triforce pieces otherwise. Basically, because we’ve seen something similar in Skyward Sword’s time travel; this could be a valid in-universe explanation for apparently confusing effects of time travel. One last thought: perhaps there is not a triforce for every different timeline, but rather just one that exists outside of/across all of time while still being accessible to any timeline… kind of like the Towers of the elder scrolls series. It would certainly make sense for such a monumental divine artifact to have such an otherworldly quality as this….

This is great, but I have my own theory on the whole "divine prank" ordeal. When Zelda sent Link back in time, she did not send him to before he ever pulled the master sword or before he met zelda. She sent him to the time after he pulls the master sword, after Ganondorf has already entered the sacred realm. Link can then put the sword back in it's pedestal, thus trapping Ganondorf in the sacred realm until they decide what to do with the Gerudo thief. Think about it. When Link is sent back, where is he sent to? The temple of time, and the door of time is already open, showing that the time that link is sent back to is the time after he already met zelda, got all three spiritual stones, and opened the door of time with the ocarina of time. He is basically waking up from his slumber early because of he has finally matured as the hero of time. Plus, the light that surrounds Link when he is sent back to his childhood is the same as when Link pulls or puts back the master sword. Ganondorf has already obtained the Triforce of Power, but he ironically is powerless due to the fact that he cannot even leave the sacred realm. Now you might be wondering about the last scene where he reunites with zelda. How I see it, is that Zelda has returned to Hyrule Castle to wait for Link to return with the Triforce, only to find he only has one piece, the triforce of courage.

Actually, the lack of the Goron bracelet after being sent back means this is before he played Saria's song for Darunia. And the temple doors being opened? Zelda probably sent an override code back in time as well to open the door to let Link out

So why is there another set of Sages in Twilight Princess trying to execute Ganondorf? Shouldn't it be the Sages from OoT or were there sages in place before the time skip and Ganondorf just killed them all? Also, where is Rauru? It seems like he was already a Sage before the time skip.

Child Timeline, so... Rauru is in the sacred Realm still, the six Sages in TP are the ones who were from the same batch Rauru before, presumably, Ganondorf killed them in the 7 year time skip of OoT. Ruto, Darunia, and the others never became sages as Link never took the Master Sword.

The Hero of Time went back with the Triforce of Courage this fucked it up and Zelda and Ganondorf both had the Triforce of Power and the Triforce of Wisdom this is why Ganondorf's sentence to death was failed

Thine powers, immense, beautiful, and infinite, might thy use thine powers to end the tyranny and hatred in the land" "Sure, no problem B" *Later* "What the fuck, Goddesses. What is wrong with you? I just noticed this in the breath of the wild game! On whether Link is in love with Zelda. If you read Paya’s diary, it says: “I wonder if master Link is in love with Princess Zelda... If so, I think they suit each other quite splendidly. If they became a couple, I’d give that pairing my full support. Though just the thought makes my heart hurt...” I mean come on😏😏

I like this theory, although I feel like you’re forgetting about Zant, as there may be a link between him and the triforce

I just barely saw that when link is warning zelda of ganon in Oot you can see bowser and luigi in the window

I always just thought that Ganondorf managed to invade the Sacred Realm during the Gerudo-Hylian war and that’s when he claimed the Triforce of Power. But that explanation doesn’t explain Link already having the mark of the Triforce on his hand before the war or why the Temple of Time would be relocated to the forest, since I believe it was relocated magically to protect the sacred realm during Ganondorf’s invasion. But one thing this theory doesn’t explain is how or why Link kept the Triforce when traveling through time. Wind Waker tells us that before he left he split it into 8 pieces and hid them around Hyrule. So why did he suddenly get it back once he traveled to the past? The lore given by Wind Waker seems to contradict the cutscene at the end of Ocarina. So idk what to think

I'm with you on this. Nintendo probably just wanted to have their cake and eat it too.

So, the same Zelda f***ed up twice, first when she told the hero to go and collect the other spiritual stones and open the door of time, and second when she sent him back to another timeline. Not two reincarnations of Zelda, not two Zeldas from different timelines, but the same individual. Looks like the Triforce of Wisdom should come with a disclaimer "wisdom not included".

You know, what if you had an imbalance when trying to claim the triforce in such a way where you valued, say, power and courage equally over wisdom? (Assuming that the triforce would split when you have an imbalance. A Link Between Worlds has both Zelda and Link touch the triforce at the same time when I think both have an imbalance.)

I don't know if I got it right: when link travelled back in time, the triforce of the timeline when the hero wins shatters, but keeps in the same timeline, and when he "become" kid, the triforce of the child timeline where realm was never opened, was obtained by all three because link used to have it? Like, link travels with the triforce, but since the child timeline already had one, he got that one and the previous scattered? Thanks, and good video as always. Correct... Now could the other 2 triforce pieces that were probably still sealed until right about the time when he broke the seal to the sacred realm in events of OoT(only Link was in Termina because of MM)containing them have gone to their aligned ones? However he did not have to remove the Master Sword because the pieces still found their way. I think if that if it is correct then right around the time of MM when Link is finished in Termina Ganondorf is sealed and he gets the Triforce of Power because wouldn't you know it it was exactly or around the same time Link In OoT would have opened the seal to the Sacred Realm though this time it was destiny that caused this. Link...wasn't known as the Hero either and he just lived as a bearer of the Triforce of Courage as an elite soldier and what not that is probably an entertaining speculation.. though we do know he has descendants so ya, at least he wasn't truly miserable from not being a recognized hero.

Huh. As many times as I've beaten this game, and I never noticed that Young Link kept the Truforce of Courage in the ending...

Are there any theories out there saying naboorus had a hand in it. I watch a theory on if the sages were dead or not and they brought up how the witches said they were gonna mind wash her again after you beat her but then she vaporizes making it seem like she died and contradicting what they just said. But maybe then did brain wash her and made them think she was on our side then some how gave Ganon the triforce of power again in the past bc she’s a sage that transcends space and time

So... Zelda goofed up twice. Once as a child by playing right into Ganondorf’s hands by getting link to open the sacred realm, and thus initiating the adult and fallen timelines... but then a second time at the end by sending the hero back in time again to initiate the childhood timeline. Dang it Zelda! Well... we never get an awesome epic story... or stories in this case... by having someone not goof up at some point. :P

I always though Zant freed Ganondorf, but I guess that doesn’t make sense, considering that he didn’t know Zant yet.

and... zant had no power. did you even play TP? zant was helpless and weak, all he had going for him was spite... ganondorf showed up and lent him some of his own power, which allowed zant to curse midna in the first place.

Ah, Twilight Princess... My very first Zelda game... The only reason my file progressed all the way to Hyrule Castle is because I just sat and watched as my dad solved every single slightly complicated puzzle, beat all the Darknuts or Shadow Beasts and the freaky floating hand sections of the Palace of Twilight. I am still that level of bad, by the way, and I always happened to miss any cool details and mysteries, like this one! But regardless of how horribly bad I am at any Zelda game (like, uncapable of solving slide puzzles bad) and what a disappointment I must be to my father the man who actually beat the games, I'm still in love with it. Moving onto something more serious, though: we typically play the Zelda games in Spanish because that's our mother tongue. I've noticed that the Spanish translation of dungeon names has a tendency to be more accurate to the Japanese names. This is at least true with the Latin American translations of dungeon names in Skyward Sword: for example, I've read in an article that the Lanayru Mining Facility is called "Lanayru Stone Refinery" or something along the lines in Japanese, and that the Ancient Cistern is actually called "Great Ancient Cavern". In the Spanish version, "Refinería de Lanayru" and "Gran Caverna Ancestral" are their respective translations, which seem much more accurate, and it's especially important when it comes to the Lanayru Facility since mining and refining are two very different things. Now, moving on to Twilight Princess, Arbiter's Grounds are called " Patíbulo del Desierto", a name which translates as "Desert Gallows" or "Gallows of the Desert", gallows being an execution chamber where criminals are typically hanged. This name makes sense to the overall theme and story of the dungeon, and while I haven't seen the Japanese name, I imagine it should be something similar. Exactly why, then, did the team translating it to English call it Arbiter's Grounds? Where does the "Arbiter" fit in all this? Am I missing something? This was a long comment sorry :)

I had been wondering for some time why TP Ganondorf has the ToP and, after much research, I found the answer on a forum. It's the same answer as in the video.

Can someone tell me how you get that final cutscene in OOT. I've played numerous times but never saw this.
