The New Buildings ( Neubauten) were no longer collapsing (Einstuerzend) so he left, says F.M. Einheit.

I guess they had finished collapsing, and were now Collapsed New Buildings.

It's a pity FM Einheit left the band, but also i think he makes interesting kind of music. And although EN sounds differente now, I still like it.

A sad break. I wish that Blixa would have tried harder to mend things. They were great together.

Mufti probably stood aghast, when listening to Ende Neu demos. Blixa’d have discussed or at least reconciled with him before he left. You can’t throw your bandmate out, because he seemingly quit of his volition apparently for the musical direction, not personal reason. I know Blixa didn’t describe the reason and wrote Nick Cave he’d quit the Bad Seeds via mail. But that is not right way to leave after working with your colleagues for decades.

I'll go english for any international fans reading: I'm a big Neubauten man, they're up there with Pink Floyd & Psykovsky in my favourite musicians: FM Einheit leaving, as Blixa said, turned out to be a positive development for both parties as Neubauten recorded more excellent musik with a quieter reflective vibe and FM did a likeable pop album with Gry, plus i also have his Sensation Death album which is interesting (check out Theme From Death Row). Both Neubauten and Einheit became quieter and more reflective in their musik, which is only natural with age, but even when still together Neubauten had slowly become quieter and more tonal with Haus Der Lüge and Tabula Rasa, so they were already going in the same direction musically. I'm not too interested in personal drama within bands, just that most of the great bands have had strife (Pink Floyd famously so). Sometimes that friction helps creativity.

Big fan here too...Don't you think that Tabula rasa is a way better album then Ende Neu tho? Together, they were an explosive mix of power, fantasy, pushing boundaries... you know. Mufti is way more passionate an talented than Rudolf Moser many folds imho.

@@SlappaMasta If we're doing rankings, I'd go: 1. Halber Mensch & Haus der Lüge represent the pinnacle...both pretty much perfect. 2. everything else between Fünf... up to Alles Wieder Offen I like about equally. Some big big favourites on each like Kein Bestandteil Sein, Headcleaner, Explosion im Festspielhaus, Befindlichkeit des Landes, Unvollständigkeit, title track from Perpetuum Mobile. 3. the first two albums, Kollaps & Zechnungen are a bit too raw for my taste, tho' Armenia is a fantastic highlight. ?. the last two albums i haven't gotten to know yet...even for favourite bands i'm not really in a rush to hear the latest! ??. Neubauten famously have quite a big collection of original music outside of their studio albums...I don't know most of it, will discover one day! Pelikanol is excellent (bonus track on some issues of Silence is Sexy).

@@dhollsynthmusic their first 2 albums are actually Stahl Musik & Kalte Sterne. if you don't enjoy raw music you'll hate these 2 albums haha.

Best album recorded E.N. with FM Einheit - no doubt about it. When he left E.N., they lost their special energy of atonality.

Even mathematicians are more productive and more driven in their 20s. I like the music of EN best when it was raw and noisy. I liked the crazy atonal sounds of Nick Cave and the cavemen when Blixa first joined. I don't think any of them make "bad" music now but it just isn't the same. I don't have the same desire to listen to a new song by Madonna or Mick Jagger or Blixa or Nick Cave. For me, watching EN turn up on British TV and drill holes in the set was more thrilling than watching a man in a suit sing ballads.

Please don’t fat shame. Blixa gave up drugs and learned to be a great chef. Unlike a lot of vain Rockstars, he doesn’t give a damn about trying to hold onto his youth.

Blixa es ist ja nicht schlimm wenn man sich eine affige Wintermütze besorgt wenn sie schön warm hält. Aber in geschlossenen Räumen bitte absetzen; Das ist nicht NUR ein Akt der Höflichkeit ;-)

EN was interesting for the first 2-3 records, then started to repeat themselves. Blixa probably changed after his involvement with Nick Cave too. FM Einheit did the right thing to continue elsewhere.
