Why Everyone Needs the Lexus LS430
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
There's no doubt the Lexus LS430 was an incredible car when it came out, but can it shake off it's old man image?
What about the young enthusiasts modifying these cars? Is the LS430 cool now?
I reviewed my dad's 2005 Lexus LS430 and I have to say, I have a new found respect for this sedan!

It's not an old man's car, it's a great car for anyone.
My brother owned a 2005 Lexus LS430 Ultra Luxury from 2009-2022. It was an amazing car which only needed one non-maintenance repair. It was a great car!
i have an 06 with 57k miles...forever car
I've had my bone stock onyx black 2004 ls430 sport suspension package model for little over a year now and love it with 173,263 miles on it currently purchased at 150,000. It has the 5 spoke chrome plated rims and just replaced my tires with Michelin pilot sport all season tires a few weeks ago. I paid $9,500 for it which I don't regret. I'm replacing the timing belt at 182,246 miles along with the rest of the major general maintenance that goes along with it when it comes time. I don't think it's an old mans car. I think people with a sense buy these and they're actually bad ass. This is my very first car and I'm 32 years old. How's it going.

I picked up a clean 2004 with 152k miles on it. Such a solid and reliable vehichle. It is not just a Toyota with a Lexus badge. They went above and beyond with the R&D on this luxury vehicle and it shows 20 years later. Besides the bullet proof engine and transmission, there are so many other parts and finishes that are to much to list where they focused their best engineering, fit, and finish on building one of the best cars ever made. Even if some parts may be a little expensive, it is still worth paying for since the car can last soooo many miles. As far as the rims, I like the original ones. I haven't seen anything better if your goal is to keep it looking like a fine luxury car.

Nice! And yeah I agree with Jay about everything you said. It’s such a killer car
I picked mine up for $6000 last year from the original owner. Best car I've ever owned. I'm tempted to buy more just because I don't see them getting any cheaper.
My wife has the exact one except ours is a 2006. My wife refuse to get a new car. Only failure is replacement of alternator. Smooth and reliable.
I am the original owner of a 05 custom LS430 with 42K miles. I also have a 24 ES350. The LS430 and 400 are by far the best Lexus ever made. The 430 is just an amazing car. Do mot change the rims. The sport design you have is real nice.
I remember seeing one on the street when I was doing a delivery job and when I gave the owner his package I told him that I wanted one and he looked at me confused and said “that one?” Lol I guess it is seen as an old man’s car, he was thinking “why does this young guy want this boring looking car?” Lol I think it looks clean though
I just bought one! Excited to own it and pass it down to my children!

I had one for 3 years, great car. Wish I still had it. Fast, quiet and very reliable. The only part I didn’t like was the sat nav and its buttons, it was a bit naff.
I own a 2001 pre-face lift Japan import Toyota Celsior equivalent of the Lexus LS430 Ultra Luxury Edition with all the "bells and whistles." It is a truly amazing car. Extremely quiet, smooth, and comfortable. Built like a tank but glides with serenity and aplomb. Drove it to Italy from the London. People were shocked and kept staring. Some came to ask what make is the car? where I bought it? and if I will sell it? Lexus LS430 is possibly the best car ever built.

Oh that sounds like a gorgeous car! I bet you miss it. Maybe time to look for another?
When I was 27 years old I bought my first Lexus, it was a 1997 LS 400 Coach edition, I always loved those cars, then after that I had multiple lexus models between LS and GS, now I'm 51 and I drive a 2018 GS 350 F Sport. I think the LS 430 and LS 460 did get more on the older folks side, but still great cars especially the LS 430, these are much better than the 460. My next model will probably be another LS, so I'm waiting to see what comes after the LS 500.
Im still rocking my 2006 ls430, 135k miles, had timing belt changed twice, and still drives like new. I always cover mines so it looks cherry. 💯 stock

I am an old man 77 to be exact and I did buy one of these LS 430 2006 with 161,000 miles and I have had to do some work on it but overall I love this car. It is everything I wanted in a new car but could not get. I feel like they are overpriced for the year models but just try to find a decent one that you would like to own for less than $10,000.00. Good luck. I currently have just under $16,000.00 in mine after the repairs it needed. The timeing belt was changed at 153,000 miles so no worries there. The overall quality of this car is amazing.

Badass vehicle! I have an 05 LS430, 05 GX470 and 22 GX470.
I wanted one of these back in 2008. I really wanted to do a VIP build on it. I wanted a 2003 and up model due to the face lift. Unfortunately they were still expensive so I ended up with 2001 Lexus GS300 at the time. I still have the GS300 all these years later and it's still running strong but I will always love the look and reliability of the 2003-2006 LS430. To be honest, I wouldn't even say that its a secret about these cars because a lot of people were building these and LS400s up about 8-10 years ago.

What makes the LS430 so good (and contender for "best luxury car") is this: The level of attention to detail Lexus gave the LS430 is unparalleled in the history of mass-produced luxury cars. Not just for its features / value-adds, but in its build quality, NVH levels, fit & finish, and outstanding long-term reliability. They really knocked it out of the park with the LS430. Its predecessors and (sadly) successors haven't reached the 430's arc.

The first and second generation LS 400s are the absolutely the best LSs. Toyota spent 1 billion dollars on the development of the first generation LS 400. The 430 is more luxurious and more technical and I think the styling is better, but it falls short in the reliability, ride quality, and is not as quiet as the 400. I had a 1990 and 1994 and now the 2006 LS 430. I prefer the 400s. Only wish I had purchased the 2000LS 400 rather than the 430.

I basically bought it, drove it for two years and 20k miles, and sold it for $500 less than I bought it for. loved the car. one thing you didn't mention was the gas mileage. this thing can cruise all day on the highway getting 29-30mpg. it's nuts.

I have one since 2016 , the 2006 UL model..great car BUT the gas mileage is quite bad on these cars, many are slowly dissapearing from the roads in Japan due to fuel costs, with premium/high octane . I get 8.5km/L on average and max 11.5 km/l on highway at 100km/h no A/C. And you need regular timing belt changes every 120k km which can be costly depending on your area.

@@nyccollin Tell us you don't know a rebadged Toyota Celsior without looking at one. Enjoy your flagship rebadge Toyota with with a different logo. What AMG equivalent did Lexus offer back in 2006?

@@OneManOnFire I love Mercedes but the fact is that they’re unreliable. Would love to have a Mercedes with a Toyota engine.

This was the last of the humble Lexus models before they thought they were on Mercedes level charging ludicrous prices. The current Lexus LS is a shadow of its former glory and overpriced. Even the Koreans are outdoing Lexus now with the Genesis G90. All I know is if I’m spending 6 figures on a full size luxury sedan it’s going to a Mercedes-Benz Sonderklasse and not a Lexus LS. BTW, the Lexus LS 460 is the successor to the Lexus LS 430, not the predecessor.

I agree with you on modern prices, it’s crazy. Friends of ours bought a Genesis and I have to say I was seriously impressed. And yeah, I know, that’s why I put the asterisk and correction in the video 😅

@@automospeedcrew Even at $101,000 the Genesis G90 seems like a bargain these days.

What's actually wrong with an old man's car? Some very real people are old.
