Marketing aside(great white hope) bird just had the undeniable talent that Tatum simply doesn’t have. Especially in the clutch bird could and would hit the craziest shots or dive on the floor or get a clutch steal. Tatum simply doesn’t have that in his game. Hell even birds step back was better. So no one says that because bird was clearly the best player on his team. Tatum people wonder about like could brown be the actual best player?

Bird was facing other all time great teams so it doesnt matter. Contrary to Jordan, that faced trash, or Tatum that faced injured teams To be fair with everybody healthy I still think the Celtics wouldve won it all, but it wouldve been more competetive

@Edd-zd5wb I was just soeak8ng from a technical standpoint. Intrssting the 2008 celtics wirh almost that talent lost 10 playoff ges and didn't won a road game till the ECG....and their first two opponents were not good...Atlanta with a young jortfordd and Cleveland with lebron and not much else

he can't score unless the celtics are up 10

Sorry you are wrong luka & Jokic are better passers true. But Tatum has drastically improved in that area as well . But because those two guys are elite passers they have much more opportunities at stat padding. Tatum is bit the player those two guys are and a much better defender than both.

When it comes driving to the hole, I would take JT over anyone. He regularly avoids the charge calls that could be called on other stars who "go downhill" on every other play if the refs were really calling it. Combined with leading the C's in rebounds, the ability to make the tough three pointers, and playing consistent stellar defense I disagree he is overrated.
