@@masaboih he's right I've been a diamond player for years in and out of low master. Recently Grand Master. Listen everyone is bad at this game, me included. Here's the trick tho. Are you happy at being a gold player? If yes then who the fuck cares what some challenger says. If no, recognize you're bad at the game and do something about it. Again goals people If you are just looking for diamond you do not need to be the best. You just need to be trying to improve. It's a game have fun. If grinding to challenger isn't fun don't do it. This game is worthless in the grand scheme. Make friends have a good time. After this season if I stay GM I'm going causal no cap. Friendly pre-mades and ARAM for life. @@TheKittyClink Ofc, I totally agree and I don't know why anyone should take offence if challengers think someone is bad lol, silver players say bronzes are bad, and every game someone tells you how bad you are lol. Ofc challengers think everyone below it is bad. Everyone should only play if it is fun for them, whats the point otherwise? Speaking from an exercise physiologist stand point, a lot of points you guys touch on for gamers in relation to mental and decreased performance can also be attributed to a something in sports science we call relative energy deficiency syndrome, where by inadequate nutritional intake can result in a host of adverse physical, physiological and mental health issues. As its no secret a lot of "hardcore" gamers tend to undereat during gaming sessions especially if they're grinding elos I can imagine there's a decent correlation between gamers experiencing symptoms of red-s during these grinds. Definitely something worth understanding and ensuring you're not experiencing.

Alot of really good players have said this for years. I used to watch a challenger jungle main, forgot his name, and he says fuck if your team rages at you, if they are inting in a skirmish you know they'll lose, there's no point rotating just to be there, just farm the three camps u have. Except if you're not experienced enough at the game you may take this to heart too much and be a brain dead auto piloting split pusher or don't rotate to the RIGHT rotations. Like its a coinflip tp if you have no vision and its a chaotic even fight, but if say there's 3 low hp targets on your bot lane and you're a top laner with a deep ward behind them, that's free real estate.

Lol the Leona. I played adc the other day, Vayne, with a Lux. Lux decided it was best to last hit my minions, spam spells from half a screen away then back off during any fight because cooldowns. She complained I wasn't getting kills. I asked her politely to pls stop stealing my cs, save spells for after I engage and stand near me (not even block formation) so I could safely set something up. She flipped out for the rest of the game, the team sided with her that I was trolling, and they all reported me for a 2/5/8 game and refused to acknowledge that a sup who runs away from mid when they saw me heading there isn't playing the role. A week ago was similar, Varus with Cho sup, who was adamant he didn't need a sup item. Then he flamed me for him being stuck under turret while I control warded drake pit, said he constantly needed gold (hence the cs stealing) and blamed me for letting him die to dives when his actions was what caused us to be under leveled. He then rage roamed topside jg, fed, and rage quit when I asked him to pls ward Rift while he was up there. IMHO it's a lack of maturity, an inability to take responsibility and look for ways to improve. The problem with that mindset is when it drags everyone down with you... as evidenced low elo.

I loved this vid. It shows the struggle someone has to climb really well, aswell as how effective small adjustments can be without using any individual highly mechanic punishments or plays either. The mental edge is really good, because you even expect your team to not be that great, aswell as the enemies, so you just do your own thing, while not beeing really tilted about the mistakes your allys do.

For years people have criticized me for having a mindset like this. I'm glad that you of all people agree. I was going crazy trying to figure out if my mentality was wrong or not and all the negative comments from friends and acquittances alike made me feel like something was wrong with me. Their main argument has always been that you can never play a team game while expecting nothing from your team. I also often get told that if my jungler wasn't bad I'd win midlane and I'm just sitting there like "Stop blaming the jungler because I know that if you were premade with said jungler, you'd be flaming me. Also the jungler shouldn't win my lane for me, I should."

I played lol for the 1st time like 2 years ago because my friend wanted me to try, then my boyfriend asked me to try again but I didn't really had fun so I dropped it. This summer I tried to learn the game and I can see I got really better at it after watching guides from this channel and also some others. It's not like I got good, I'm not some prodigy or even a typical player, just a girl who played minecraft and some mmorpg games in middle school but stopped cause she didn't have enough money for a working PC and her parents turned the wifi off if she played too much. So it was kinda refreshing to have fun playing something again after almost 10 years. I started without knowing how to ward and now i have 50-70 something vision points every game, I learned how to roam and when to, I'm bronze IV now so as I said, I'm not good, but I got degraded to iron like, a month ago and I was on losing streak for like 10 games so I almost dropped to Iron II but somehow I played more drafts to train what I thought I was lacking the most in and got back to Bronze IV. Of course it's almost lowest of low elo and everyone is crying that they are stuck there but I'm looking realistically at my capabilities. If I could climb back to Bronze from Iron now, then I can try to climb to Bronze I or Silver IV next season if I really try. I had a cold series lately and lost 4 rankeds in a row so that's why I'm trying to understand my mistakes by watching some guides instead of just going back to game and playing while being flustrated! I'm not gonna be as good as someone who never had a break from playing games or has better sense than me without trying but I can be good enough for me to feel content and have fun rather than not knowing how to play or being too stressed about my rank :)

I enjoy these videos with Hector. He always reminds me that in a way it's ok to be selfish in league. Most times in game, I come with the approach, 'it's ok that I died, our whoever got another kill can carry this game.' Sometimes they do.... most times they don't. Then yesterday, I played a support game as Rakan with a Jinxs. She disconnected after needlessly dying twice, all within the first 3 mins of the game. I decided to stop playing support to see if I could carry the game since the MF I was playing against wasn't good. We won that game.

The part about junglers inting at early crab deciding games feels so relatable. It's as if they genuinly don't care about matchups in lanes or your allies vs enemy champions powers and just require you to move to crab no matter what even if lanes have 0 prio and they are sure to die against 1v2, 1v3. As a laner it's so tilting, especially since I play mid-late game champions, and them spam-pinging afterwards is driving me mad when the situation could be avoided easily had they more than a single braincell and thought about the game. Vid is cool tho!

BUT it doesn't mean they understand the game like they should. The more complexe the game is the more you can see the big difference between top elo soloQ and pro players. They are great and excellent, looking at the ladder overall, but looking at it from a competitive POV, they're bad. a real example would be me looking down on 2.7k+ players on WoW arena 3v3. they're top 0.2% or so depending the season, and if you take into account the whole playerbase, theyre probably top 0.01% and rank 1 is high challenger. They are excellent players, but only compared to the general player. Looking at it with real understanding of the game, they're like noobs, on the way of being good. And that's how you can describe GM players in league, once you reach this level of understanding and skill A bit hard to explain but thats the gist of it.

As someone who was knocking on Silver last season, but has had one bad game after the other this season, landing me in Iron (yes, I know all the jokes and condescending remarks), this video makes me feel a bit better about the situation. I've actually started getting back into form doing this very same thing. I just realize that everyone on my team is bad and play around them accordingly. I think we subconsciously expect someone else on the team to carry us, but the fact is - ESPECIALLY in very low elo - the "carry" is a coinflip. I've seen some extremely bad Master Yis carry an enemy team just because they got a few lucky kills and no one knew how to counter him. As a result, I've actually had a few games playing Sona, where I was the actual carry because I'd catch enemy champs overextending and just obviously bad mechanics. I've also learned to recognize champs that should be reserved for high elo players (e.g. Akali) being played in Iron and just acknowledge that they're not really that scary because the player doesn't know how to use the kit. Sometimes, they get lucky, sure. But most of the time, it works out in my favor because of the other player's ego. Thanks for making vids like this to keep us encouraged. I will eventually pay my penance in this purgatory and when I do, I'll say it was all because of Hector. :)

Also: Mute all chat (/all and allied) and mute all pings (but keep using pings yourself). Your teammates pings will always affect you even if you think they don't (As a jungler I realized this early when I would alter my game plan because some droolie was spam pinging asking for ganks, and I would end up helping him not lose lane instead of focusing on my Draven+Leona bot). Also takes away their power to tilt you by spam pinging you question marks.

@@davethebarbarian4419 I don't do this every game, I try to see if my teammates will be cooperative first. I also leave all chat on to shittalk and get into their heads. The two best examples are: if an enemy complains about their teammate in all chat, stoke the fire and pit them against each other, trying to seem reasonable yourself; when your lane opponent is clearly a one trick, esp w/ 1mil+ mastery points, first blood them and say "why are you first timing a champ in ranked, that's pretty rude". If these aren't options, I'll mute.

If you're only climbing because you're tearing others down instead of out playing them, well, you need better skills. I'm plat too and rewatching this video made me realize he is simply right. If you know you can carry, you should be getting as much resources as possible with the lowest risks. If you follow an enemy roam or engage in a fight with a 50-50 chance 100% of the time, turns out you will win 50% of the games. But if you maximize your income and only go for plays where you will benefit more for going, as time passes you'll get to the point where you can carry the game. Let's say you're a good sidelaner. Here comes dragon. If your team is winning, they don't need you, right? Split and bring one enemy to you and it's a win-win situation. If your team is even, you're not to blame for repeating it. If your team is losing, than you NEED to split. That's it. You should only group if you can wipe them all out, not a coinflip 50-50 fight for second dragon. Exceptions would be if the objective they are trying to take is a win-condition.
