I wish the interviewer would have asked her why she turned down the England job in 2018, that was then given to Phil Neville. I do not think that any one, has ever done that before. Wasn't the job big enough for her?

​@marcellogenesi6390 Prolly wasn't ready to coach a national team at that time yet plus she did say in an interview when she was picked as head coach that "I’ve dreamed about coaching the USA for a long time so to get this opportunity is a dream come true." So she could've been waiting or hoping to be offered the head coach position for the US

So excited to see what she does with the USWNT and hope she is given the time she will need to develop the team and build an identity. I’m not a Chelsea fan, but would love to see her get that fairy tale ending and win the Champion’s League this season. Realistically I don’t think it will happen given Barca’s form, but I would love to be proven wrong.

Interesting the US players she listed off the top of her head - that core four plus Macario and Smith. Gives a bit of insight into her thinking on the USWNT and her eye for talent.

She mentioned Jaedyn Shaw first, without hesitation. I definitely think Hayes will start Shaw and mold her into a Lauren James type that can roam anywhere within the attacking third.

I don't think I would be any more excited about Klopp/Mourinho/Pep being announced as the men's manager than I am about Hayes having been appointed as our new manager. As it stands, the women have a proper manager and the men... Well, we'll save the Berhalter basing for the Reddit threads. They REALLY hate that some of us don't love that dude over there. Ha!

Let's get the Feb camp's roster out, that ought to be interesting.

Of the 4 “core” players she’s mentioned the only one I’m sold on as of now is Shaw

Na, don’t be an idiot..Chelsea needs a new manager. Emma Hayes has become stale bread… Onwards and upwards for Chelsea under a new manager.

Didn't someone issue a statement a few days before the announcement that this wouldn't happen?
