I know that the Quran forbids it, however, I was stating what rationale Muslims usually give for this restriction, since there is clearly nothing wrong with eating pork if you take religion out of the picture. Many religions have certain dietary restrictions. They are arbitrary, of course, as you eat things that other religions forbid. This is just one example which shows that religions are man-made.

The flesh of a dead animal was never meant to be food for humans. Period. It doesn't matter if it becomes "safe" when cooked. It was not meant for human consumption.

Maybe a powerful muslim figure once said, "dont eat that, its ham", but meant to say, "its haram", and it just stuck.

If you can't eat flesh of dead animals, then do they eat animals while they are alive? And how do they avoid consuming the blood of the animal? Those two things seem a little tricky, if you ask me.🤔

I think it's because pork skin looks very human like when air dried and that's probably their main way of preserving meat in the desert. and add to that the history of their warlord leader who probably personally killed and executed a lot of people. Its similar to how embalmers can't eat not very well cooked meat.

Pork is a good source of: High-Quality Protein. Niacin. Vitamins B6 and B12. Iron. Zinc. Glycine. Selenium. Pork is actually richer in thiamine, a B vitamin required for a range of bodily functions, than other red meats like lamb (which Muslims like so much).

Pork is in our rational because of amount. One. Pig can weight up to 300kg. Thats a lot of food. I remember one family could eat 6-12 months of one pig. Thank you pigs for being sacrifice to humans. Amen †

Why did you decided to use the transliteration “Allah” rather than the transliteration “God”? Show me a place in the Bible where it is mentioned he never ate Pork. And if so, why did he allow Christians to eat it.

So 1. Reason - a person wrote that god said its bad and 2. Reason- A person wrote that it's dirty.(although it is not compared to other aninals) So no real reason, huh.

Although it is forbidden in our religion, I consider it disgusting and do not like to see my enemy eating it.

Cos the book said so. Just say that its in the faith. Period. That its haram or something. If u wanna use science to prove it...be prepared for science to be used to trash ur argument.

The hypocrisy of a man telling others GOD TOLD HIM, maybe because he never liked Pork. But how about explaining why Muslims drank Alcohol before and during the time of Muhammad, then all of a sudden he forbid it. Seems to me like Human planning rather then devine intervention.

Haram is not used in my culture so i found its definition here.

Eating camels is not kosher (Leviticus 11:4) Eating camels is halal (Surah 22:36)

A lot of ignorant comments I see. People are different and we all have different lifestyles and doctrines that we adhere to. So just because you don't understand why someone doesn't do something that you do, it doesn't mean you have to be rude and disrespectful about it. Why is it so hard for some of you knuckle heads to understand that humans are just different. I don't go around assuming that every American is a hillbilly. I don't eat pork because my religion forbids it. That's it, simple. And also, why tf does it have to bother y'all so much that we Muslims don't eat pork?? That's called being too damn nosy. Live and let live, ever heard of that?

Don’t think it’s God that tells them to not eat pork when they believe Jesus was just a prophet and not God in the flesh. They follow the teachings of Muhammad that lived 500 years after Jesus, while the new testament has writings from people that lived and walked with Jesus, the quran is teaching about a guy that collected taxes, waged wars and had multiple women. Who was sinless and divine i ask you, Jesus or Muhammad?

My friend is a muslim. I told him if there was no food except for pork, he should eat it, and if he dont, he will die. My friend doesnt care. So i worry. God prepare the food tho. Then why do Pig existed then?

@@crmdrid Do you understand a joke? Don't take things personalty, you will be happier in life. Would you like details as to why Muslims, Jews and the ancient Egyptians did not eat pork. It had nothing to do with religion. The reasons are two fold. One; with sheep and goats and cows you also get milk and hides besides meat. Two; pigs can not be herded and mist be kept in pens a major problem in the hills and deserts of the middle east. Happy now.

The main reason pork is forbidden for Muslims is because it says in the Holy Quran that some food is allowed, while others are explicitly declared haram, which means forbidden. And pork is one of those forbidden foods. However, there is an exception that is written in the Holy Quran as well where it states that you can eat it if you are starving and there is nothing else to eat but pork. This is also in accordance with the Jewish faith, according to their laws and traditions of eating kosher meat. Pork is not only dirty but rather regarded as impure, unhealthy and harmful for humans due to the fats, toxins and bacteria it contains and the way the pig spends its life rolling around in mud and its own excrement. Muslims don't eat pork because it is forbidden by their religion (dogma), the same reason why we are obliged to stop at red lights at traffic lights. Regarding rationality, it depends on each person, because religion is a matter of belief (we also believe in the state, even though 1000 years ago our state didn't necessarily exist)
