It needed a neck reset and plays great. I have a silent steel string guitar and an LS6M acoustic .Yamaha are great value at every price point. Great playing guys. Greetings from Liverpool England.

I’ve been playing Yamahas since I switched to nylon strings last year. I have been playing the NTX-5, and the SLG200N, and absolutely LOVE them both! I keep an NTX-3 at my parent’s house for visiting. Sometimes I think I can hear/feel a difference between the two models. Other times I can’t. I absolutely ADORE the Atmosfeel pickup system as well, which is how everyone I play for hears it. I use it with an IR and light reverb.

Hey Sean, I have a Yamaha SE211 electric with a locking nut. My first new guitar purchased in the late 80's. It stays in tune while doing dive bombs and has weathered the "put it up for sale" storm. Granted it only has 2 pickups SH, but has coil splitting. I probably paid $300ish for it, but will keep this one as it is a treasured member of the fleet. Great video.

The fact that they sold so many budget guitars in the 70s. The stigma stuck..however the red, black label MIJ models are SOLID. REGARDLESS of the price. My first was a FG300(rosewood), and then CJ-818SB (jumbo)I got for 200 bucks. Sound AMAZING. The old GC classicals are solid GOLD.

I’ve just spent 3 months looking for a new acoustic. I currently own 9 guitars. Have owned and played everything from Lowdens, Gibsons, Taylor’s and Martins. I gravitated initially towards a really nice Lowden, but then stumbled upon the Yamaha red labels and Japanese built models. Was lucky enough to have access to lots of the A, F and L series and went very close to settling on the FGX5, but the AC5R just felt, sounded and looked better IMO. Haven’t been able to put it down since and am considering selling my Taylor and buying the FGX5 too.

Rewatching this AGAIN. You guys sound fantastic! Hudson, man, your vocals are top notch as well-- and that's coming from someone who NEVER wants to hear anyone sing ES but ES. Simple, straight, honest..so good. I could be wrong, but didn't ES record with a D28? I know he played the red label on the road, but I think his later studio stuff was a D28. Also, I'm keeping a guitar in standard C; any advice on strings? I've got some mediums on now, but if anyone has a set you love for lower tunings I'd love to hear. Thanks! Favorite vid on your channel, Sean. I'll be back in another month lol!

I have a Yamaha FS 720S, a smaller body folk acoustic I bought in 2010. A little muddy sounding, but the strings you recommend helped to brighten and separate the tones a bit. It's sturdy and wasn't expensive. I toss it in my car with no case, occasionally leave it in the garage in the summer/winter, etc., and it never complains.. Action is a bit high, but I like the slightly shorter scale. If I ever upload a video, ya'll will get to hear it! Nice performance 👍

My go to guitar when practicing at home - great plugged in to BUT you know what I never use it at busker/speakeasy nights preferring my GSmini Koa e or my Guild M120E Cherry as both are small bodied. I had mine set up with a PLEK machine too, my logic being that the Stainless Steel frets should last a great deal of time and the carbon fibre reinforced neck and body will hopefully prove extra stable. My poor USA Vintage '62 re-issue Strat which I have had since 1989 hasn't been getting much of a look in live these last 14 months! Love the contouring, very comfortable and similar to a Strat. I bought and returned a Yamaha FSX5- ($1650)-harsh, strident trebles and sloppy workmanship (dried glue squeeze-out between fretboard and top; at the side fret-marker dots where the neck joins the body, it looks like they used badly applied putty to cover up the saw marks) Anyway, the intonation and playability were pretty good, and I really wanted to like the guitar, but I just couldn't get past the above. IME

A lot of guitar players love Yamaha. I have a pretty sweet mid-range Yamaha acoustic electric that I definitely pick up. And they really do have some pretty sweet models in their lineup.... You should have said, you definitely aren't just using the mic at the end there... There's definitely a mix of the mic and the piezo going on

I too have a guitar for every tuning. That's how you end up 12 acoustics... 😅 - Standard - Standard half-step down (main guitar) - Standard half-step down (backup for my main guitar) - Open F - Open C - DADEAD - DADGAD - Open D - Drop D - Nashville Tuning - B-Standard (Baritone) - C-Standard (Rubber Bridge) Ok, listing it like this makes me realize I might have a problem... 😂😅

Yamaha always displays great quality in their guitars. My first beginner was the FG800.. Yamaha offers great craftsmanship for the money. So, budget minded people, perfect for you.. I own 5 Gibson acoustics, 3 Martin acoustics, 1 Taylor 814 Builder Edition in Ebony. 2 Yamaha acoustics. The Yamaha are nights out around the fireplace instead of the higher end ones..

I like my Yamaha FG820C (c is for C cut) far more than my Epiphone Hummingbird Special Edition with a C cut-thank you. I think it comes down to neck width. The Hummingbird has a 12-something inch radius and the Yamaha 15-something inches.

Without even wasting time watching this video, I will answer the question posed in the title. If a musician sees his instrument as a tool for his work, he can buy it from Yamaha without hesitation. Concert grand pianos, keyboards, brass instruments, guitars, whatever. It does the work. But to brag, you need a Gibson logo on the headstock. Understood?

There's been a lots of guitars come and go through my lounge room over the last 40 years but the one constant & sentimental favourite has been my Yamaha FG 450 from the late 70's it doesn't get as much of run as the other 4 guitars but it & my Australian made Pratley are keepers. Even as I type the Epiphone SJ200 and my Merle Haggard tuff dog are looking for new homes.

I really like the Yamaha... and a Taylor fan. Have both. My favorite is the Yamaha FG830. I take a lot of ribbing from the Martin players. If you are a bluegrass player the Yamaha FD830 is the poor mans version of the Martin. I am sure I could start an argument on why I like Yamaha over the Martin. Over the years and a collection of guitars... the best guitar is the one you will play. That is the fact of life. If I dropped all that money on a Martin is it be only for display. It would never be a player. That is a whole other story why!!! Next time at Sweetwater I will check out the Yamaha AC5R.... if I go without wife supervision... it most likely will follow me home!!!!! Sean fun video.

I have been playing 35+ years. I NEVER play any cover accurate. If people want to hear the artist they will just listen to the artist. Im not knocking people for playing it accurate to the original but I just feel adding your own twist is what makes music overall the best art we have. Just my opinion. ;)
