Why Dolphins must pay Tua the bag, is Cooper Flagg the future face of USA Basketball? | THE HERD

Спорт

670 The Score's Danny Parkins is back in for Colin Cowherd to explain why the Miami Dolphins have no choice but to pay and give Tua Tagovailoa a large deal. Meanwhile, Team USA is prepping for their upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics campaign. While LeBron James and Steph Curry notably highlight the squad, Duke's Cooper Flagg reportedly "stole the show" during the team's scrimmage. Watch as Parkins discusses whether Flagg could ultimately become the future face of basketball in the United States and by international standards.

Great segment, but the reason anyone can’t run this offense easily is because Tua is left handed and our offenses is catered to that fact. On top of Bridgewater going into concussion protocol and Skylar getting hurt, there were a lot of factors that made it difficult for our back ups to be successful

If you put literally any other name on Tua's resume, he would be renowned as at least a top five QB and the entirety of the media and NFL fans would be laughing at Miami for not getting a new contract with Tua awhile ago. It's not just that Miami won't get anyone better than Tua, it's not just that he's a top 3-5 QB, it's not just that the system is one where Tua's the best to run it, it's not just that he's been carrying a bottom three OL, McDaniel, bad defense, and WRs who fold in big situations; it's all of that, and more. I'm not saying give Tua $70m a year, but the contract should've been done already. Especially when you factor-in the fact that the league will probably do something about QBs and the Salary Cap soon enough, and that signing Tua gives Miami more Cap to use for the roster over the next three years, along with them offloading big debts in the Cap over that time as well.

Wouldn’t say he did that good. He had 2 turnovers and the Dolphins kept having great field possession majority of their possessions but were being held to field goals most times. The Phins defense helped him out a lot causing their own Turnovers. But like the host said the example size is small so they can’t really use that against Tua like the 49ers can to Purdy.

I’m older than even the guy who created this show. There was one guy who, if he lived now would be every bit of impressive as Victor Wembanyama is. His name was Wilt Chamberlain. To the second of this comment, there has never been a basketball player who has ever lived, who was as dominant as he was. If one dare to honestly extrapolate that dominance into different errors, he would’ve dominated in any era of sport he would’ve played in. This is not me the comment from an anonymous KZread video. This was the consensus of all of the history of the NBA up until seeing Michael Jordan. And the people who lived before Jordan, who actually washed him, did not agree that Jordan was better than Chamberlain. 9:50 returning back to the present, we understand the role of media is to hype up things. This kid and Duke felt as authentic a reveal in sports as acting in a Hollywood movie. It’s easy to tell marketing. Especially in sports.

Ppl misuse the word “Franchise QB” too often. A True Franchise QB can carry his team. If it’s not throughout the season in big games, it’s most definitely in big moments i.e Ellie Manning. Tua doesn’t do either. That’s the issue Tua supporters don’t want to talk about. Secondly, if you really want to check what you really think of Tua and his value then ask yourself. What would he get in return in a trade? Also, if he has a down year this year and Mia misses the playoffs, would you still pay him MARKET value?

Tua only wins if it’s 45 degrees or warmer though. Whatever.

Tua isn’t worth it nor Dak! Why pay so much for 2nd best? Tua can’t handle the cold, Dak can’t win the big games on his own

I don't think wither player are worth a $50-60 million contract, but how did both teams look when those players were absent? Dallas only looked good when Dak was down during the Cooper Rush games, and any other tike Dallas struggled. However, I'd also say that Kellen Moore did some of his best game planning when Rush was behind center, offering better run and pass protection by putting an extra lineman in the backfield with him early in his playing and then easing him into more normal looking spreads that the offense runs. Also, you can say Hurtz is at risk of not being worth his contract and hasn't looked the same since getting paid. Is that too early to say? Yes, but it still stands and if Hurtz really isn't as good as he looked before getting paid then it's easy to say it's a toss up between him and Dak on who is better. I think if both players can be had for what the Giants gave Jones, then I'd say that's a good signing.

Tua is not competitive against good teams … ok so we let him walk and go 1-4 then we draft a new guy at the top of the draft again .. no point to be mediocre
