I think it's because it said selling hot cookies and Alex made a joke and switched the word hot to ghost so instead of saying selling hot cookies it said selling ghost cookies

It's an English expression we use when something is selling fast, 'they were selling like hot cakes', alex changed hot cakes to ghost cookies because they were selling well.
