    Context : Gilgamesh is not a servant. He is alive here, unlike his youthful archer self , here he is a mature adult. Also Merlin was the one who gave Bedevire his Excaliber arm. The guy who was with Bedivere in flower garden was Merlin.

    @@CloudyCrow you wouldn't know this of course but considering Merlin helped get the crew out of a sticky predicament in the 5th singularity and actually helped alot more during the 6th singularity than the movie made out they have plenty of reason to trust him

    Basically A. Ishtar was incarnated into a body of I believe a priestess, or a version of Rin. Mostly cause they're similar also B. Gilgamesh has the ability to see the future

  • @Bafflementation

    She was summoned by her priestesses and put into the body of the version of Rin. The reason they could get a version of Rin is because this is a singularity and is therefore partially connected to other singularities and grails, including Fuyuki. This Rin was pulled into it because her personality was a good match for Ishtar's.

  • @theguy8614
    @theguy8614Ай бұрын

    ishtar is something called a pseudo servant which is similar to Mash but instead of the human retaining full control, the spirit possesses the body and fuses their personality. Rin was summoned by some people at a temple to act as a vessel for Ishtar. Basically pseudo servants are fgo's way of adding most other fate or type moon characters

  • @KeithKVH
    @KeithKVHАй бұрын

    Rin's eyes are blue btw, not red like Ishtar. Also Gil's chains are the same chains, the original form or concept of the weapon of the gods leftover after Enkidu "died". Believe he even refers to them as Enkidu, The Chains of Heaven in either Zero or UBW.

    Enjoyed the reaction. Having someone who looks and acts like a super-powered version of Rin (but in that outfit!) was certainly very surprising -- and welcome, as she was definitely one of the high points of earlier iterations of the series. Mesopotamia is the general name for the region; in "reality"the specific nation that Gilgamesh came from was Sumeria, perhaps earth's oldest civilization whose capital was the city of Uruk. Sumeria was followed later by the Babylonian civilization, which occupied the same general area whose capital was Babylon. However, Fate involves a lot of myth, and Babylon is important in relationship to Gilgamesh because the Babylonians were the ones who codified the legends of Gilgamesh (kind of like King Arthur if he existed was supposed to live during the early Romano-British civilization, but his legends were codified centuries later in medieval England, by a different culture living in Britain). However, the word "Babylon" has a lot of mythical and mystical associations due to its mention in the Bible, more so than .Sumeria , so that may explain the title. Incidentally, Chaldea was historically a small country that was part of the larger Babylonian empire, and its people were supposedly famous as astrologers / astronomers, hence, likely, the reason it was selected as a code name for the agency our heroes work for.

    7:30 Polynesian expansion (from their original home region in South Asia (modern Taiwan and surroundings) started with speaker of Austronesian languages around the time this Singularity takes place (ca. 2500 BCE) in a slow crawl to New Guinea (reached around 1500 BCE). From there the first wave of actual Polynesian expansion up to 800 BCE reached Samoa. Then came an Age of no expansion before the second wave around 800 CE (ca. 380 years after the fall of the Western Roman Empire) when they relatively quickly settled the Pacific islands to the East (Hawai'i and Easter Island being the furthest reaches and by 1200 CE they had set foot on New Zealand, completing settlement of the Polynesian Triangle). Babylon is city in Mesopotamia. A very real city that persisted for very long time. Mesopotamia was home to many different peoples and ciliizations that had some cultural elements in common (and were, like most "pagans" pretty chill about identifying their gods with those their neighbors had that had a similar function [for example the Summerian goddess Innana was seen as being same as the Akkadian goddess Ishtar, which became the common name used by the Babylonians, Assyrians and others). The earliest civilization in Mesopotamia (being part of the so called "fertile crescent" that stretches over the Middle East, one of the regions where humanity invented agriculture on their own) were the Summerians and by the time Gilgamesh (an actual historical king who became larger than life character in later myths) ruled the city of Uruk the first cites were about 2000 years old, a writing system had been invented for almost 1000 years. The Summerians founded ca. 35 city states ruled by their kings that were rivals, sometimes with war among them, sometimes under the dominion of a few cites [as we see here in Gilgamesh's age, where his city of Uruk reigns supreme]. The Summerians (speaking a language whose relations to others is disputed) over time integrated more and more elements of their Western Neighbors, the Akkandians (speakers of the oldest Semitic language we know) into their culture (including the language). Eventually Sargon of Akkad would shape the Akkadian city states into an Empire and, ca. 400 years after Gilgamesh, conquered the Sumerian city states. After it's collapse came another age of city states with Babylon coming out on top and starting their own empire. Their first Empire went down with the Bronze age collapse (ca. 1200-1050 BCE) and in the "Dark Age" after that the Assyrian Empire emerged. When the Assyrians went down a Neo-Babylonian Empire did arise (612 BCE) and by ca. 530 BCE the Persian from the East of Mesopotamia (once also conquered by the Assyrians) took control of the region. Those are the very Achaemenid Persians that fought the Greeks and were conquered by Alexander the Great. All this time Babylon was an important city (including de facto capital of Alexander after he conquered it).

    Rin-lookalike context below: For context: Ishtar is what you call a Pseudo-Servant, it is when a heroic spirit has either. A: Way too much mystery or power to control naturally and thus requires a vessel of the modern time to manifest in or B: Lack the mystery/historical ability to become a servant and thus requires someone of the present time to manifest in. Ishtar is of the A category. She is someone that has too much power to naturally manifest as a servant with and therefore required a vessel to inject a portion of herself into that form.

    Mesopotamia is a region were a lot of different cultures and peoples have called home. Babylonians came much after Gilgamesh had long been an established legend and is from the ancient Sumerians that lived in southern Mesopotamia in city states from like 4000 BCE to like 1800 BCE

    34:55 Technically Gilgamesh here is a living (Demi-) human being (after all he is 2/3 god and son of human king and a goddess), not a Servant, so he has not Servant Class Container. Practically the same (wiser and slightly older) Gilgamesh will be summoned in FGO as Caster Class Servant.

    When they talked about what Gil’s clairvoyance can do they really didn’t do a good job. But long story short it’s one of the best ranks of clairvoyance but Gil almost never uses it because it would make everything too easy and boring. He’s able to see the truth of things so you can’t lie to him, as well as the present and alternate timelines. The counter force actually nerfs it when he gets summoned not that he’d use it anyway. Overall he uses it less than Ea.

Mesopotemia, Babylonia, Iraq are all the same place just in different time periods. That ain't Achilles lol, its really easy to figure out who he is, most people knows him in fact.
